Thanks, those are great bits of advice. I went to the individual folders, in the paths suggested and deactivated the appropriate titles. However, when I checked the status or my installations on the DCS site, the status of all the module installs are listed as active. Is there are time period whereby the deactivation take place? Yes, I will be sure to remove the old C drive and use an external connection to move files back onto the new SSD C drive with Win10.

shagrat -- Thanks so very much for the recommendations and directions. I have concluded that this issue will not be resolved without a new install. I will be taking this opportunity to upgrade to Windows 10 (Microsoft is dropping support for Win7 at the end of 2019), as well as dropping in an SSD for Windows and DCS. I am, as you suggested, backing up DCS and Save games folders. For the initial upgrade, I will leave the old C drive in the machine in order to have instant access to any necessary files I may need to move from the old C Drive. While we are on this topic, I want to add something. In this machine, I have DCS from steam. It lives in a different drive and under a different name within the steam folders. I never play it as I prefer the standalone version of DCS. Steam keeps this version of DCS updated automatically. This morning, I started up the DCS Steam, and to my surprise, DCS Steam shows the same error. But the path to the blurCompute.fx points inside the steam file path. So, I suspect a memory issue which I am testing by pulling pairs of ram sticks. Just thought I would share that but of information. I will share with with DCS tech support in an open ticket.

If you could create a video teaser of how such a mission might play-out. That might create some excitement around the idea.

I was concerned that simply deleting the folder containing DCS might cause problems with the Windows registry. So, I've been holding off doing that. I've tried the DCS Updater and clean up tools. I really wanted those options to fix this. But, they did not. My installation of DCS really got clubbed over the head. Well, since I cannot get this issue fixed, and the developers of ReShade has ignored my requests for help, I guess I will be forced to delete and reinstall the game and nearly every module available. Time for an SSD and Windows 10 upgrade.

If I am forced to reinstall DCS, what is the process for doing a re install? If there is a step that requires getting into the game interface, I am unable to do that because for me DCS crashes at the start up screen. Do I simply delete the existing DCS install directory? What about the registry, are there registry entries that may interfere with an incorrect re install? What about the Saved Games files? What do I do about them? Should I reinstall on top of the existing DCS install, or is it better to reinstall in a completely different location on the system? I've been looking at the support section of the DCS website but, I have not found any direction on doing a re install of DCS.

I am having a similar issue with ReShade. In my case, I cannot launch DCS at all. DCS crashes and displays a message about a file named blurCompute.fx, and that this file failed to compile. I have removed files I think are associated with reshade. But, each time I try to start DCS, the same error message displays and DCS fails to start. I am at a complete stand still as to what to try next. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated??? Need Help!

Something has badly broken my DCS World and DCS OpenBeta installations. Yes, they are both producing the same error. I cannot get into the game interface at all. How can I safely do a fresh installation of the game, and eventually, its modules?? NEED HELP!!!!!

Sadly, that has not worked. Nothing has worked. Dang frustrating! I have attached an image of the error screen I see after the launch fails. Maybe this will clarify what is happening.
-
Great. You have suggested removing content that I have not see in other suggestions. I will give this a try and get back with results.
-
I have attempted using the ReShade un-installation feature several times. Yet, DCS is still crashing at the splash screen and provides the same message, suggesting that the file ...\bazar\shaders\deferred\ blurCompute.fx has a compile error. I have run the DCS command line updater and clean feature. But I still get the same error at the splash screen.

Deleting these files in the bin folder assumes I installed reshader into the bin folder. What if I installed reshade into the DCSworld OpenBeta folder?
-
I've been using reshade for quite some time. I really like what it adds to the visual fidelity of the sim. Currently using version 4.0.2 of reshade. Last night, I attempted to install version 4.3.0 of reshade, and now, I am getting an render error when I launch DCS World. So, I can no longer launch DCS World. Has any one experienced a similar problem, and how did you resolve it.

The default FOV for my UH-1 is a little too close to the cockpit. The FOV setting for the Huey are not located with the FOV setting for other modules in DCS. Can anyone provide details on specifically where and what to change for the FOV on the Huey?
-
Did anyone recommend a solution? I am trying to determine how the HU1 FOV gets adjusted along with you.
-
If you download 50 of these files, 5% of them might have a description for where to place the mission files. There are new people discovering DCS, and mission files all the time. How does anyone assume that everyone knows where the mods and mission files belong. How hard is it to include in the zip file for these missions, the file path to where to place the files. Is that too much to ask? Is this Lazy or what?
-
Since I setup triple screens (it's been years), I can no longer see the controls indicator. The indicator is important for flying the Gazelle, UH-1 Huey and the Mi8 Helos. Additionally, there is another indicator that shows in the lower right-hand part of the screen (sorry I cannot be more specific) where only half of the indicator shows. The rest of that indicator is off-screen. How can I adjust these two indicators so they are visible?

[LATER IN EARLY ACCESS] Maverick Training missions??

Maverick Training missions?? Where are the training missions for the Mavericks??? -
From day one, I have had a persistent issue with the trim on the F5. Moving the trim, even a little would cause the trim tab to move and not stop until it reached the limit of its movement. This happened in each direction of the trim tab. This means that the nose of the bird would pull up completely or down hard. I have posted more than one post on this forum in an attempt to get a resolution for the issue. Recently, I changed USB 3.0 hub for a smaller and simpler USB 2.0. Low and behold, the problems with the F5's trim tabs completely disappeared. Whatever the issue was, it was related to the USB hub. Now, the F5 flies like a champ with trim tabs functioning as intended. Thanks to those (DCS support included) who contributed to my previous calls for help.

So, are the flight models for the WWII war birds accurate? If yes, which plane stats-up to be superior? Can I make the observation that because so many are flying the 109 in DCS, does it mean that (in DCS at least) the 109 is the superior platform. For full transparency, I bought the Spitfire. I so want to buy the P-51, but I don't want to waste my money buying something so outclassed that I make myself a setting target for everyone not flying a P-51.
-
Great response. Notwithstanding the issues the Germans had (supply chain, green pilots, etc) near the end of the war. Keeping the 262 out of the conversation for obvious reasons. Is the BF-109 actually a better plane than the P-51? In DCS, the 109 seems clearly the better plane.
-
I've wondered why the BF-109 is so much more of a powerhouse in DCS and why the P-51 is not much of a threat, while the history books say that the P-51 was the better plane. Something does not match up. Are the flight models wrong with these two planes?
-
I have this same issue with the Spitfire and the F5. In my case, it is with the horizontal stabilizer trim tabs. The controls work, but the trim tabs do not move and the plane does not respond to trim tab changes. With the F5, the issue is also with the horizontal stabilizer. In this case, once I adjust the trim controls (In either direction), the trim adjustment won't stop until it reaches its limit. Nothing I have tried has solved these issues. I feel your pain.

Triple monitors, FOV for the Spit,
Gpruitt54 replied to Gpruitt54's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
I resolved the issue I was having by selecting the 1 Screen option. I knew what I was trying to resolve. The 1 screen option was suggested, and it worked.
