  1. Very interesting. This both good and bad news. Bad news in that there are no standards for where this kind of modifications are handled. Also, there should be a saver way to make these kinds of adjustments from within the game interface. Good news in that there is at least a means of making the adjustment… As long as one is brave enough to tinker with the necessary files. There are so many threads on this subject; meaning there is an issue for DCS to address. In my case there are only a few modules where this FOV thing is an issue. Were it is an issue, it’s a really big issue! The KA-50 Black Shark is the worse. I use triple 27in displays at 5760 x 1080. In my center display, all I see is the HUD, no instruments at all, just the HUD. So that is my starting point. I am attempting to discover which file, and on with line in the file are the FOV settings located that can address my issue. I should not be as difficult and vague as it has been to solve. But it is.
  2. Excellent. But where are the files located? Some here point to files in the C:/Users/username/... path. Others point to other locations for the files to be edited. Which is the correct file(s)?
  3. I eventually, deleted all the items flagged at the end of the cleanup procedure. That seemed to take care of what ever happened. So, now, I have all my modules, maps and missions back. Thanks for the input and suggestions.
  4. I ran the repair, and clean tool. Nothing changed in terms of fixing the problem. I did not delete the hundreds of files that were flagged by the cleanup application. I was more than a little nervous about doing that. I put in a support ticket where I described what happened, as well as including a copy of my DCS.LOG file. I have attached a ziped copy of my DCS.LOG file here. dcs-log file.zip
  5. I am looking at the cleanup list. They are AV8B Liveries, AV8B sound files, and hundreds of .lua and .miz files. The prompt asks if I want to delete them or back them up. With so many files being flagged, I am hesitant to remove them, as the clean up always flags these files.
  6. Had anything like this ever happened before with your system? My issue happened this evening.
  7. I have several DCS modules installed. After running an update, only three planes are available in the instant action section. These are the AV8B, P51, and TU25. In the Modules section, all my installed modules seem to be listed. What could have happened? I restarted DCS World, and I restarted my PC. I also ran the repair against the game files. Not sure what happened!!!! Never seen this one before.
  8. Hi and thanks for your reply. Isn't the SimShaker Sound Module a payware product? Also, you need the paid product to get all of the shaker effects, right?
  9. How can i buy this software with US currency? PayPal does not allow transactions in the default currency for the developers country. I have played with the demo versions of this software, and I finally made it work. But, I am unable to buy the software. How to buy with US currency??????
  10. Thanks for all your help. I finally made the software function. I am now trying to buy your software. If I choose USD as the currency at checkout, I discover that your website forces me to return to the home page to select a different currency. After I go to PayPal, I then discover that PayPal will not allow transactions in the currency you force me to choose at checkout. Confusing. I want to buy this software, but I cannot because your site only allows a currency that Paypal does not allow! Are there any payment methods for US customers???
  11. I am working through the various aspects of the software. I read the information about the various channel modes. Though I have not installed the universal ASIO drivers, I have been looking for the ASIO driver for my specific sound card (Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio). I have been reluctant to download universal versions of drivers for fear of foiling up something in my system. On the settings screen, at the dedicated sound card option. When I select the 6 channel option, it says to select which sound card at the ASIO software. I have been building PCs for years, and I have never seen, nor installed any ASIO software on any of my PCs. I just downloaded a universal ASIO driver package for the first time, ever. I will install the ASIO driver package and see what that does.
  12. My version of SimShaker for Aviators is version 1.3.8.0 My version of SimShaker Sound Module is version 2.12 I use amplified transducers. On the SimShaker for Aviators screen, the option for Buttkicker and similar devices is grayed-out and cannot be selected. I have a 4 Channel amp running 4 transducers. Only two if my transducers are responding to vibe motor testing. I am not sure if being able to select Buttkicker option will enable all of my transducers to function. But how can I enable the Buttkicker option in the Output Mode?
  13. Thank you for your reply. The version of the Sim Shaker software I was trying did not have an option for "ButtKicker and similar devices" listed under Output Mode. It could be that I downloaded the software from an outdated source. I just discovered the following download source that I had not seen before. I had been looking on at the blog, which does not include a link to the following site. See the link below. https://andres.shop/2-home It looks as if there are two software packages that need to be purchased. Is that correct? From the above site page, which software packages do I need to control shaker transducers for DCS and X-Plane 11?
  14. I will double check. Once I have Sim Shaker for Aviators and Sim Shaker Sound Module installed, which of these files must be running before I start DCS or X-Plane? I have not paid for the software yet. I want to first know that can get the software to work with my games.
  15. I downloaded and installed these two files: SimShaker for Aviators_release_setup SimShaker Sound Module_release_setup There are two shorts cuts on my computer, called: SimShaker for Aviators, and SimShaker-Wings. There is supposed to be a sound module, but the desktop shortcuts are not the sound module. It is not at all clear just how to get the above applications to work with DCS, X-Plane, or any thing.
  16. I hear what you are saying. I am making this point for all those new to DCS. Those who are not as experienced as you are. Let's not forget just how little effort it would take to write the path for where these files should be copied to, and how easy it is to copy and paste that text into an instruction, and include in the zip. Consider how helpful that small effort would be to that new user. User appreciation... Maybe it's become weird concept?
  17. Simple point. If developers want as many users as possible to use their product, it only makes since to tell users how to use the product for which you have worked so hard to create. Is to too much to ask for a simple one line text file. Not everyone knows what you know about using user files. I've managed developers for years. There is no excuse for not including proper documentation. In this case, a small text file is not too much to ask, or expect.
  18. That's good to know. Do you have a product that works with DCS for which you provide support? If so, which product would that be?
  19. On your blog, under the notes section, it says "SimShaker for DCS World and Falcon BMS is discontinued." Is this true that this product will not function with, and is not compatible with DCS World?
  20. I am interested in understanding specific aspects of the in-game graphics settings of DCS World. Specifically the various settings in MultiMonitor pull-down and aspect settings as well as other options in the graphics settings. Where can I see detailed information of what all the setting do in the game?
  21. OK, for clarification. I need SimShaker installed first, then SimShaker Sound module second?
  22. I use Sim Commander for my racing sims. I am looking at your product to add transducer effects to DCS. So then, Specifically which of your products do I need for DCS World?
  23. Just the guy I would like to talk with. I am using Sim Commander to control amplified transducers. The 4 channel amp is connected to a second sound card in my PC. I use transducers on my office chair and pedal set platform. On your site, it appears that I need at least two different products to control my transducers. Is this true? If so, can you point to the specific products I need?
  24. I am having trouble installing the trial version of the SimShaker Wings on Windows 10. My system protection applications are not allowing the software to install.
  25. shagrat - Well... We are up and running again. DCS loves living on the SSD drive. Very fast loading and closing. Smooth play to boot. Thanks for all your help. The processes you described were perfect and saved me a lot of time. I ended up doing a Windows 10 upgrade on the spinning dist drive rather than a complete clean install. I took that change because it would have taken weeks to get all the applications (aside from DCS) installed and configured. So, the SSD is dedicated to gaming (DCS, X-Plane, Star Citizen, etc) Anyway, It took several days, but all is running well. Thanks again!!!
