It happens in every mode (sim and game), and only with the F5 module. If I control the trim using the mouse to interact with the on-screen controls, the trims function as expected. It is only when I use the HOTAS and keyboard controls that I experience the trims not working.

The DCS F5 module is a beautiful plane. However, plagued with an ongoing issue with the trim controls. This issue is only happening with the DCS F5 module. I am using a X55 HOTAS. However the issue I am describing also happens with the keyboard controls as well. As soon as I move any of the trims (rudder or ailerons), the control surface moves and will not stop moving until it reaches the stop point. What is the solution? I've been looking for an answer for a very long time and would love to get this resolved.

My trim issue is just the opposite. If I lean the trim alone, the plane pitches straight up on take off. From that point on, I am flying with the stick pushed forward, full.
-
As of this date, I have yet to resolve the fluttering/blackout issue. I will try your suggestion and run it in sim and game mode and see what happens. Then there remains that pesky trim issue. A topic for another thread.

Tango, What did you do with the Force feedback option and Sync Hotas controls? I am having the same issues.

The trim settings in my installation of the F5-E is not working correctly. I have the trim bound to my X55 HOTAS trim hat as well as the standard keyboard. Whenever I move the trim, with the HOTAS or keyboard, the trim continues moving and does not stop until the trim reaches the limits. When I move the trim in the opposite direction, the trim surface continues to move until it reaches the limit of movement. However, if I control the trim hat with the mouse, as it manipulating a cockpit switch, the trim behaves correctly. In all cases, the elevator trim indicator shows movement of the surface as described. Also, in flight, the plane is up and down as the elevator trim is always on the move in one direction or another, making the plane impossible to fly. I'v tried several things as suggested my members of this forum, but nothing has fixed the problem. I've tested all the other modules I own, and this happens only with the F5-E. All other modules are functioning properly. I've also issued support tickets with DCS. MAYDAY... MAYDAY...! QUESTIONS: Has anyone experienced this or something similar? If any of you has seem something like this, how did you solve it? Would a reinstall of this specific module (F5-E) possibly resolve this issue? How does one reinstall a specific module?

Is there a re-installation procedure for DCS modules?
-
The indicator dial is showing the movement of the trim, as I expected it would.
-
So, the default key bindings for trim, and the HOTAS bindings for trim are jacked up. If I eliminate the default key bindings for trim for a entirely new set of bindings, can I return to the default bindings for trim?
-
In the controls setup, there are no additional controllers install. Only running a mouse, keyboard, and X55 HOTAS. Not sure how to make the indicator display. However, the trim tabs are in fact moving the plane. when flying I must constantly readjust the trim due to the surfaces constantly moving from full stop, to full stop. Secondly, I can see the stick moving as the trim moves through its full range. Also, this is the strangest of them all. If I tap the trim hat using the mouse, the trim performs as expected, moving only for as long as I press the hat in a given direction, and stopping as soon as I release pressure on the hat. But, If I use the keyboard commands for trim, the odd behavior resumes and the trim continues moving until it reaches the stop.

Jesus, it's always something with this freaking program. This issue is happening only with the F5E. No other planes are doing this. I've testing with with all the modules I own. First, I am doing this from the runway or parked. When I control the trim with the trim hat on my HOTAS, I can see the stick continuing to move in relation to the trim tab movement. However, If I control the trim hat with the mouse, the freaking thing functions normally and does not exhibit the crazy traits. WTF!
-
I just tested the SU-33, A10-C, F-86, and none of them exhibited the issue with trim. So far, only F5 is doing this.
-
Good question. When I try the actual key mapping the same thing happens. Whichever direction you push the trim, the trim tab just keeps going in that direction until it can go no further. I've only tested this with the F5. Don't know if this happens with other planes in DCS.
-
There seems to be something wrong with the trim settings with the F5. I have the trim setting mapped to my HOTAS stick. I placed the plane on the ground and watched the trim tabs from an outside view, I notice that the trim keeps moving. For example, if I apply pitch up trim, the trim tab does not stop when I stop applying trim, the trim tab continues to move. In flight, this means I an continually applying opposite trim in one direction; then another. Is there a fix for this. The trim should be momentary and not continuous.

Module manager not showing recent BS2 purchase

Hi guys, Though I was unable to fix the problem my self, the issue with the BS1 to BS2 upgrade prompt is resolved. The people at DCS unbound the BS upgrade from my account. They did not tell me why I was unable to unbind the upgrade myself. But, it is resolved none the less. -

Yeah, I can live with the prompt to upgrade from BS1 to BS2. I've been living with this for 5 years. this is the third time I have tried to resolve the issue in 5 years. To your comment about being confused, here is my input. I don't want to run the upgrade. I only want the prompt to run the upgrade to go away. I did post a ticket on the DCS support. We will see if it get addressed this time. -

In an earlier message on this thread, I stated this issue has persisted for several years. I've posted messages to ED customer support but, they have not addressed this issue in any way. They recommended that I post on the message board as we are now doing. I appreciate all the input from you guys. However, whatever is happening it is happening on a very deep level. The registry fix did not resolve the issue (I had high hopes for it). After running the registry fix, I re-ran DCS 2.x and 5.x and in both versions, I still get prompts to do two things. Those are to: 1. Run the BD1 to BS2 upgrade 2. Install BS2. If I install BS2 as prompted, the module installs and plays as expected. But, the prompt to install the BS1 to BS2 upgrade remains. If attempt to install the BS1 to BS2 upgrade I get the message that I must install BS1. It seems that I will have to live with being prompted to upgrade from BS1 to BS2, knowing that I can never select and run that option. Does this mean that I can never update BS2 from whatever version I am now running? QUESTION: What would happen if I went into the registry and simply remove any registry elements that references to BS and/or BS2? Might that clear whatever is driving the BS1 to BS2 upgrade prompt, as well as getting rid of that unknown product key that I cannot account for? -

I will collect the keys, download the tool. I've already used the DRM option on the ED site to remove BS2 in both 1.5.x and 2.x.x of DCS World. I will get back with results. -

I do not have a listing for ED or DCS in my windows menu. Odd! So, I cannot see the repair option that you mentioned. Because of the bizarre issues I am experiencing, I am reluctant to do command line solutions, for fear of making things worse. Additionally, there is no command line option in my right-click menu. -

Gpruitt54 replied to Gpruitt54's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I tried these steps in DCS 1.5 and 2.0. I got as far as step 3. Step 4 describes running the updater located in the bin file. Running the updater file only launched DCS World. -

I've tried this. However, the tool is not allowing me to unbind. When I try to unbind, I get a message that says "One or more parameters are invalid." I've tried several times with the same results. There is no hint as to what parameters. -

Thanks! I am walking through these recommendations. Where is the DCS 2.0 repair feature? I've never heard of that application. -

Great set of possibilities. I will try these options. BTY, what I am describing happens with both versions of DCS World 1.5 and well as 2.0. I will report back after trying these suggestions. -

Something is seriously wrong. The last time I tried to resolve this was in 2011 and it seems that there is still no solution. Here is what is happening. I opened DCS World 1.5. I used the module manager trash can button to completely remove BS2. When restarting DCS World, the module manager if I wanted to install BD2 as well as to upgrade from BS1 to BS2. If I just completely removed BS2, how how is the module manager asking me to install BS2 as well as upgrade from BS1 to BS2? -

So then, if I highlight the unrecognized serial number under BS2 and select deactivate with the DRM button, that will only deactivate the selected serial number and not the entire module. Is that correct?
