I treat them as "Points of Interest". Depending on the mission brief, TP1 could be "last known enemy location", or it could be "Initial Point 1", "good restaurant", or "eagle dynamics hq", etc. It just a way to put lat long into the bird before takeoff for known locations (imho).

Just to make sure we're talking apples to apples 1. select the menu operating mode and press the ctrl fsk button 2. press the setup fsk button. this will display a pop-up menu. using the ^-^ fsk buttons or cursor manipulator control, select the dtb(database) option and press the setup fsk button again. etc In my manual chapter 3 only goes up to page 12?? (and is about armament) I'll try and get into the game tonight and try(working now) edit: bs1 looks like a no go, there are some good suggestions here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=82799&highlight=save+abris

Thanks for all of the suggestions Sent the youtuber videos and phrased it that unlocks are learning the systems, tactics, etc. We'll see what he says
-
haha do you see any white out?
-
Have you tried 7-38 in the manual? Can someone confirm/deny this works in MP?
-
Great suggestion! That was what made me buy :D. I think my biggest battle will be "no unlocks"......(which frustrates me because of the depth of all of the systems/environments everything is an unlock!!)

So my friend and I usually team up in bf3 in the attack choppers. He is normally the gunner, but we've started to switch up and he's becoming a decent pilot. Any suggestions on how I can convince him to make the step up to BS2? (Which i love). He's played IL2 and other flight sim only games... :pilotfly:

yep, its well worth the read. The other thing you can do is jump online, get on a voip server, and most guys will walk you thru things pretty quickly. (though i recommend you can get AP channels and trim under control before)
-
Hi congo. I haven't tried, but an idea, can you turn off the alt hold AP channel? (No idea if it's part of the game mode model)

Hi Shaze, nothing beats the manual :) http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/documentation/ The producer notes on youtube are good as well.

Returning Pilot with ''Newbie'' Questions
Daniel M replied to SniperRu's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/ for trackir. I have 5 and have no complaints. I'd love to use facetracknoir, but is it as accurate as tir5? -
check your options, i forget which one always messes me up, but there's something in there about ....the centering option (sorry it's been way to long since i played...) I always had issues if it was set to the wrong one, and i think by default it was (for me). Other than that it's just practice (assuming you have the appropriate AP channels on)

black shark 2 colective control with x65F
Daniel M replied to cerwin's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
When you're mapping ensure you're mapping under real settings, if thats what you are flying with -
Num/ , Num*, and NumEnter will become your friends (zoomin/out/and reset) not sure why they didn't engage you though
-
Kylania's statement + Are you referring to normal flight, or when trying to trim to hover? Hover hold engaged? systems warmed up? etc (post a track might be fastest resolution)
-
One benefit (someone correct me if i'm wrong) requesting ground power is your INU will begin alignment* while you're still spiinning up. Since it takes what 3 to 5 minutes for that to get all straightened out before take off, its nice to flip all of the switches and be ready to go by the time the engines are good to go (just about ) *I might be confusing terms, but i know you're supposed to wait for HUD NOT READY to go away before enabling AP dampening
-
my 2 cents, i went from a non-pro x52, to "testing" what it's like with g25(is it g25...whatever logitech wheel with 3 pedals is), and the accuracy you gain makes maneuvering much easier imho. Not needed, but helps
-
(Not sure if it's applicable to BS2 but in bs1...) Can you post your contents of I think its Producer.cfg? (I have a non-ff stick and i am experiencing the nose up issue. I think its because I forgot to set ff to disabled in producer.cfg but haven't had time to test)
-
One tip that took me a while to find out about: if you are close and need to attack, i've found it easier to just hit guns (shval caged) and point the nose of the chopper where i want to shoot, then trying to use hms. though maybe i need to edit my hocas setup so i can trim and lock at the same time.... but everyone is right, you really should be engaging at about 7k

safe to assume that (without mods) the mark I eyeball is the only way to detect launch?
-
It's been awhile since i've flown, but i think if you are below 60, keep your rate of decent above -3 and you won't have to worry about vrs (as much)

Hello, I am trying to get ppjoy to install but it keeps telling me "your system does not allow unsigned drivers to be installed. Please change the driver signing setting in control panel, then restart ppjoy install". I have ran bcdedit, and see the watermark in the lower right. Here is output from bcdedit: Windows Boot Loader ------------------- identifier {current} device partition=C: path \Windows\system32\winload.exe description Windows 7 locale en-US loadoptions ddisable_integrity_checks inherit {bootloadersettings} recoverysequence <removed--i don't like sharing guids even if not important> recoveryenabled Yes testsigning Yes osdevice partition=C: systemroot \Windows resumeobject <removed--i don't like sharing guids even if not important> nx OptIn debug No Thank you

I like the vrs recovery at 42 seconds

Help with Windbg and BlackShark Crash
Daniel M replied to Daniel M's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Re: topdog It's more of an excuse for me to to "learn" how to use windbg than anything, plus depending on what the actual exception thrown I guess I could glean something from it (not that I would have the ability to fix anything...) Re: Bee Sting Will try, I usually setup my drives to defrag weekly, but forget if I did after setting the drives to raid 0. Have ccleaner installed, but will give it a shot as well. Thanks again I'll post an update sometime this weekend.
