I got it from an article, http://www.strategycenter.net/research/pubID.106/pub_detail.asp The "when", well, that is why it is called the "2015" series, from here to ten years, but money is not shown as a problem in that article. In the same site and in articles related, you can read that those upgrades are not only a wich list, they are already in development, many of them in advance phase of development, and some of them are already working in the actual su30mki, and in the "super flanker" like the vectorial thrust. Also, in another related article in the same site, it is discussed that all this upgrades are being developed because Chine will be a great buyer, so money is around there Also, notice for example that the super cruise speed say it was already trailed in a flanker by 2004. I wonder... a flanker with anti radar components... mmm what will be of the raptor f22?
-
We all know that in BS we wll have the heli as the primary "star". But: will we have bug fixes from FC and "still to make " improvements, like finishing the modelling of the kh-41 missile, some update in the flyable planes (line some new version of flanker, so we can have r77, and things like that?

Just found this upgrades to what will be the "2015" flanker series: There are a number of candidate upgrades which can be predicted with a high level of confidence, given known development activity in Russian industry: 1. Supersonic cruise 40,000 lbf class AL-41F engines replacing the AL-31F. A derated AL-41F was being trailed in a Russian Su-27 in 2004. 2. Thrust vectoring (TVC) engine nozzles with 2D or 3D capability. Indian Su-30MKI is equipped with a TVC nozzle. 3. Digital Flight Control System (DFCS). Trialled in the 1990s Su-37 and later supplied to India, this technology will become standard for late build Flankers. The Su-37 included redundant sidestick controls for the pilot. 4. Canard foreplanes for enhanced high alpha agility. Production hardware on Su-33 and Su-30MKI. 5. An active phased array (AESA) fire control radar replacing the N-001 series. Russian industry has supplied the hybrid array N-011M to India, built AESA prototypes, and given availability of GaAs MMIC technology globally, will have no difficulty in manufacturing an AESA over the next decade. 6. A two color band FLIR/IRST sensor replacing the OLS-30, using QWIP imaging array technology. Russian industry has been negotiating to licence EU QWIP technology, which is based on mass production GaAs MMIC technology. 7. COTS based computer hardware running COTS based software. Given the use of this technology in the current N-001VEP upgrade, we can expect its use to extend across all systems over the next decade. 8. A Helmet Mounted Display with FLIR projection capability. Such an upgrade was being discussed some years ago, and would be easily accommodated with a FLIR/IRST sensor. 9. Full glass cockpit based on digital technology. Given the current delivery of first generation glass cockpits in Su-30MK and Su-27SKM, this is a natural progression. 10. Heatseeking and anti radiation variants of the R-77 Amraamski, and extended range ramjet powered variants of the R-77. All are in advanced development and actively being marketed. 11. Advanced digital variants of the R-73/74 Archer close-in air to air missile. These have been actively marketed. 12. AWACS killer long range missiles in the 160 to 200 nautical mile range category. The R-37/AA-X-13 Arrow remains in development for the Su-35, the R-172 was recently reported as the subject of licence negotiations with India. Su-35 upgrade marketing literature depicts the use of such missiles. 13. Cruise missiles for standoff attacks. China acquired Kh-55SM/AS-15 Kent cruise missiles from the Ukraine, and is manufacturing indigenous designs. 14. Advanced jam resistant fighter to fighter and fighter to AWACS datalinks and networks. India used the Russian TKS-2 datalink to effect in the Cope India exercise against the F-15C. Further evolution of protocol software will see this technology grow to match current US capabilities. 15. Radar absorbent materials for radar observables reduction. Numerous Russian unclassified papers detail a range of technologies for surface wave suppression and edge signature reduction, with a specific aim of reducing legacy aircraft observables. 16. Aerial refuelling probes, pylon plumbing for drop tanks, and buddy refuelling stores. Production hardware available off the shelf.

after lot of troubles with XP, i decided to reinstall the hole OS. Everything ok, FC reinstalled, modman installes, etc. Start FC.. BANG! star force screen saying that the system has chage and it is prompting me to reactivate the product. The thing is that my system has no change, there is no new hardware update, I just reinstalled the OS, nothjing more. Before I reinstalled XP, I made a backup of the registry key useing the backup utility that FRC gave me when I unisntalled it (I did that before the "erase" knowing that a backup prompt would appear). I installed this registry file, but the star force appeared. Knowing that I have only 3 hardaware updates, and I have spent 1 some months ago, I really don´t want to waste 1 of them because of a mistaKE from starforce. Any ideas?

Patch 1.12a or 1.12b... where is the 1.12b???
Ardillita replied to Ardillita's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
oh oh, I added some letter then :P 1.12a is actually my 1.12b jajaja thanks ! -
Patch 1.12a or 1.12b... where is the 1.12b???
Ardillita replied to Ardillita's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Well, yes... but after 1.12a release, there was a fix to this patch, wasnt it? it was called 1.12b if I remember well -
SHHHHHHHHHTTTTTTTTTTTTTT... you gave a clue... I had installed Vegas just before my problem arised... nad never suspected could be the problem. Too late form me, already reinstalling OS. UAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA:cry: What is the codec we should delete?
-
This is because of some new codec you have installed (you installed some new video or audio codec or some aplication you installed did it) A posible soluction is to unistall that codec and see if nothing has not broken and things go to normal. The same happened to me, there was no other solution than installing the hole OS again. Reinstalling FC don´t fix this issue, once things are broken, are broken... Don´t waste your time asking to the oficial support, they just don´t know what causes this problem and will respond exactly what Im posting here.

CPU upgrade and now cant play LO:FC
Ardillita replied to BloodyStub's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
The licence let´s you make 3 upgrades of hardware before thinking the sim is trying to be installed in onother user machine. Did you made any hardware change before you CPU upgrade? If yes, this upgrade would be the 2º hardware chage, and ig you did something alse before all that, then you could have reached the 3 hardwares ID change that the licence let you have. Stupid protection don´t you think? Not only we can have a decent tech support, but also we can change our own machine without haveing to pay them for another licence. -
Some advices that probably someone would correcto or improve: 1.- Too many missiles wasted. Remember that when you get the first LA, that is the max launch range, specially with the EM missile, BUT this range still is too far, a simple manouver will outrun the missile. Just wait a little longer (aprouch some more mile), and that way you will give more energy to the missile, and improve his ability to manouver and so his hiting probability. Thus, you will save misiles 2.- It is ok to climb, but remember that tracking in a look down aspect has less posibilities to give you a hit that a tracking from a look up aspect (look down means you are locking the enemy froma higher altitude, look up mean you are tracking the enemy from a lower altitud) Why is this way? Weel (correct me soemone if Im wrong please) but this is mainly because of ground noise: the pulses from the radar are somehow interfered but rebound signals from the ground, so, if you track from below the enemy, you avoid this noise and so the missile head can track with less "decoys" going around. 3.- ECM: be carefull with this. You can use it at BVR, but be carefull if the enemy louch some mad dog that will use your ecm signal to track you.It is usefull for me to use ecm to avoid the enemy to know my altitud and speed data at BVR, but as the fight keeps going, I turn it off to avoid some mad dog following my signal 4.-Im my experience, chaf and flares are usefull when you stimates that the incoming missiles is about 5 or less miles from you 5.- Whenever you can, save a track . That way, later you can replay the mision and see what could you have done better, and so you will learn from your own experience. I hope this date helps you somehow in the future, cheers!

As I said, I really don´t remember. I have quited flying FC since 2 months I guess, tired of bugs. Since last week Im tring to start again, so I really don´t remember many things of the tweeks I made ti it (since my computer is not much powerfull, I had to make as much tweaks as I could to get a decent perfomance so I can fly it) I think you are right, it could be some files of the rendereffects folders. I remember a words "pixel shaders" related to this issue jajaja that is why I mentioned it.
-
The new ATI drivers and also the omegadrivers seems to not work with radeon 9500 cards? I have tried evrything, I mean everythin (reinstalling XP too), and I have not been able to get rid of the 60 hz bug. Any comments?
-
I don´t remember exactly but, wasn´t thisan issue with pixel shaders or something like that? Also, There was some mod or manual instructions to delete 2 o3 3 files with the pixel shaders of the smoke that forms when bullets impact ground or water, removeing that files fixed that problem I think. Again, I don´t remember things exactly, my FC installation is so tweaked right know that Im afraid to remove it jajajajaja

Thanks all for the help. REGSVR32... mmm don´t know how to use it. I do have gspot, I will see what reports and give and update here. Also; i have already unistalled all codecs packs I could have installed, that didn´t helped. The packs I remember I had were: alparisoft (sincve somewhere here recomended), 6in1 codec pack (recomended in some post here too), and the usuals: divx and vidx, nothing "strange" really Thanks

Sorry, do you mean a f22 can engage without warning from BVR ???? Is this posible? I don´t think so, I have ever heard nor found informatio about any new kind of magic radar that can do this. As I read in other posts, the f22 anged many F15s, but they had a warning, they didn´t see the f22, but they had a warning , am I wrong?

Still fighting with a poroblem: once upon a time I could use without problem the "Save ti AVI..." option inside FC. In some momento I installed some codec and after that, that menu worked anymore. Everytime I try to use it, FC just closes. Just yesteray I realiced of the existance of the error.log file under FC directory, and mae a test. I tried t make an avi, FC quited as I predicted. Looke iside the error log and found this: Enumerating video codecs 0: Trying to open iccvid.dll codec... Cinepak Codec by Radius - success 1: Trying to open msh263.drv codec... failed 2: Trying to open ir32_32.dll codec... Intel Indeo® Video R3.2 - success 3: Trying to open ir32_32.dll codec... Intel Indeo® Video R3.2 - already enumerated 4: Trying to open iyuv_32.dll codec... Códec Intel IYUV - success 5: Trying to open msrle32.dll codec... failed 6: Trying to open msvidc32.dll codec... Microsoft Video 1 - success 7: Trying to open msyuv.dll codec... failed 8: Trying to open msyuv.dll codec... failed 9: Trying to open tsbyuv.dll codec... failed 10: Trying to open msyuv.dll codec... failed 11: Trying to open msh263.drv codec... failed 12: Trying to open msh261.drv codec... failed 13: Trying to open huffyuv.dll codec... I looked for that file, and they are in the win/system32 directory. Any ideas? solving this I guess it could solve the video maker problem I guess. I also checkd the properties of the files: all of them are readable. (Unistalling all my codecs also didn´t worked) If anybody could help here would be graet, thanks

support It would be nice to declare that there is no such thing called "oficial tech support", if you try to contact them, they just answer you some days later, and they give you as answer a post you can find in any forum... so.. the FORUMS are the official tech support :)

In earlier versions, we had a mod called GREP EXPLOSION PACK wich allowed us to have explosion without those "freezen" moments. I have tried to test that mod with 1.12b and seems not to work, Im suffering from some freezeing moments in the game (half a second or so) when explosions happen. Does anybody know how can this be fixed? may be there is a new mod?

looking for information about tactics
Ardillita replied to Radar Rider's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
book Take a look at this book. It is not specifically about helis, but has some info about their fighting tactics. And strongly recommend it for fighter pilots. Naval Institute - Shaw - Fighter Combat - Tactics and Maneuvering -
Procedure This works grewat for me: .- lower your flaps .- Push your breaks .- Engage afterburners (kepp your breaks) .- When you notice that the thrust has started to move your plane, release your breaks. .- right after you leave the carrier deck, take up your wheels, and DO NOT try to climb, just keepk a 20º angle. Be carefull with this: after you leave the deck, your angle will be almost exactly 20º, but after 1 or 2 seconds, if you keep pushing your stick the plane will react and give you a grater angle, and putting you in danger if stall, so keep your atention and be smooth with the stick, if you keep a 20º angle, you will see that after 5 seconds or so, you will gaing speed and will begin to gain height. Hope it helps. At the begining of practice you may loose some height, but after a while, you will take of fully loaded without problems if you need.

wow wow wow... so... to play future version we will need multi CPU computers? nice news... I don´t understand why not optimize te code and make a good programing instead of just adding work and more work to a CPU...

Missiles useless in version 1.12a?
Ardillita replied to aimmaverick's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Well, ys, misiles efectiveness has been "downgraded", but once you pracxtice more, and read some information about misiles envelopes and some theory, you will notice that before the downgrade, the missiles may be had too much efectiveness (always my opinion of course). I read an interesting book "oder fighter tactics (or manouvers or something like this, don´t remember) EXCELLENT book, witch fighting technics. A couple of chapter were dedicated to the radar, misilles and all working together, with examples an coments about the R27 series, also about the 120 ammran. After reading all that information and decided to test it in the sim... SURPRISE (I said surprise because I didn´t think ED would have simulated things good enough to make this information to be aplied and to work, real information from real pilots and real sources, not the phantom sources from ED). But it worked, the efectiveness rised again for me I would advise every pilot to read some tech info about combat technics and combat skills, it works :) -
ED Please correct these bugs?
Ardillita replied to aimmaverick's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
not bugs? Sorry, can you see the refueling basket in online flights? or only the server can see the basket and the rest of pilots don´t... That is not a bug? -
ED Please correct these bugs?
Ardillita replied to aimmaverick's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
oh oh Oh oh, I read it. And if my memory don´t fail, is not writen there that the "GOD" capacity of ewr and awacs was adjusted? As far I can see, the ewr stations still can see through terrain, and if not, read the post that appeared some days ago about costal defenses havein more range with ewr station bein near of them and see the tracks posted. Those ewr are passing target information to the costal defenses... and the targets are well behing terreain maskin jajajaja. The readme file is one thing, it does not reflect the major features/bugs request of the community. I didn´t knew about the 80% of the bugs posted in that readme file, and Im sure most of poeple here didn´t either till they read the readme file And yes, I paid the game thinkjing in haveing support, tech support, wich I have not.
