  1. If I voted for what I'd want free, it'd be the MkIX Spit, but I voted for the free 109, because I believe that will attract more people, from both existing sim fans and new folks alike.
  2. The free aircraft would have to be the 109, the Jug or the Spit IX, as many people already own the P-51 and will buy the Dora before '44 is released, presumably. But yes, one free a/c as per DCS world. I'd vote to give the 109 free, due to it's popularity and the attractiveness to many people.
  3. I'd say that 'Krupi' is more synonymous with 'Any Lap Dancing Club in Bristol', rather than the '190 Bar', but maybe I labour under a misapprehension. ;)
  4. Eh? All the ones I knew about were made of polystyrene. Don't understand your question.....
  5. Bwahahaaaa!! Exactly mate. I'm sure we all needed somewhere to go......Especially Krupi and his bloody silly bar argument. I just hope that the people who run this forum realise what just happened. :D
  6. Krupi, it was a tiny glimpse of a gunsight for less than half a second in your vid. You've managed to provoke a resurgence of arguments of old, to a significant degree. Good job. How are the Emperors of Rome getting on by the way? :D
  7. Aha. Ahaaha. I think. Are you being serious? I think not. But let's not waste our time discussing such a sad person. The low seat height in the 'Dora' coupled with the grossly swollen gun bulges, coupled with the extremely long nose, tells me that the view from the 'Dora' was not to be described as 'panoramic'. Can we agree on this point?
  8. You forgot the RAF's use of 100oct fuel in the Battle of Britain. Shame on you. :D
  9. Yah. But the key phrase is 'the Germans wouldn't permit it.' They probably wouldn't permit the low seat height or the enormous gun bulges either, but this is just a game, so anything is possible.
  10. Anyone want to talk about 100octane fuel in the Battle of Britain?
  11. I know Andy, I was there too. I suppose my little posts in this thread have been a little 'tongue in cheek' shall we say? I agree wholeheartedly with your second point quoted. :D:thumbup:
  12. In terms of the amount the image was displaced by refraction, that would depend on the thickness of the laminates. Your average high myope would probably tell you that the relative indices of polymers to glasses make a substantial difference in a number of ways. Optical crown glass being of r.i. 1.523, by the way, with higher densities available up to 1.8 or so. Not sure what the r.i. of thermally toughened glass is, it's been a while.........:) But anyway, for what it's worth, Krupi's initial vid showed a split second of a peculiarly angled view of the gunsight, and it was just a little black line across the bottom edge of the gunsight. Hardly worth this kind of lengthy debate I wouldn't have thought. :D
  13. I'd bet that Germans being Germans, with the likes of Karl Zeiss et al on hand, that screen would've been optically almost perfect, with very little chromatic aberration or other distortions. I'd presume it would be laminated with some polymer or other though? That'd bring it's r.i. down significantly.....
  14. This vid comes really close to showing it......but not quite. :D
  15. I'm guessing that a hell of a lot of Cliffs of Dover flyers will be a bit confused by the rear fuselage tank in the MkIX, with it's 'marked reduction in longitudinal stability'! :) Luckily I already have the pilot's notes for the MkIX, so I'll be psyching myself up in anticipation. The Jug is a beast, with no water-cooling to worry about and pretty uncatchable in dive. Can also carry a huge amount of ammo for it's eight .50cals. I should think the turbo-supercharging will bring a new meaning to 'complex engine management' though. 109s I have no idea about, really.
  16. Wow! I agree!!! Just 'Wow'!! I know I'll never even fly that new Helo. I don't fly the Black Shark or play Combined Arms much either (I got them in the last sale), being a P-51/A-10/Huey kinda guy, but wow!! at $20 I don't know if I'll be able to stop myself. :joystick:
  17. Hmmph. Doesn't work for my G940 either. Axis and trim responses are all fine, but no stall buffet, gun shake, gear and/or flap clunks. :(
  18. Sigh.....(digs out wallet from under used hankies and cobwebs). Well I suppose so then, if I must.....how much do you need Ilya? :D
  19. Ok, a second full uninstall of TrackIR, followed by a second fresh install has sorted out my problem. I've no idea why whatever was wrong only affected DCS, or why doing all of this yesterday had no effect, but today it worked. Thanks for all your help anyway guys. Much appreciated. Happy for the moderators to delete this thread if appropriate.
  20. Ok, I've reverted to 1.2.4, and TrackIR is still not working, so we can assume it's not the patch after all. The fact that my stand-alone A-10C is also affected pointed to that being the case too. So, what the.......? Could it be something to do with DCS being the only flight sim in 'program files', as opposed to 'program files x86'?? Could something either in windows updates or the updated TIR software be stopping the two progs talking to each other? I'm really out of my depth here, any help appreciated.
  21. Thanks, downloading now, we'll see...... The exclusive mode was already ticked against the combat flight profile, so I tried unticking it but again, no joy.
  22. Thanks mate. Deleted all said files for all aircraft, but no joy. The little blue light still refuses to illuminate for all things DCS. Thing is, over the last month or two, I've bought the Huey, the Mustang, the Black Shark and Combined arms. I've had the A-10 for a couple of years. So as soon as I really start to pay any attention to DCS, I lose my trackIR. Sorry if I'm sounding a bit bad tempered, but I'm sure you understand that as all the other flight sims are fine, I'm going to be pointing my finger at the update...? I may well be wrong though, computers are not my strongpoint. :(
  23. Yep. I even went through all of the axis controls, for every aircraft, deleting all the default view settings, in case there was a conflict. TrackIR is still listed in all of the 'absolute' view controls under the axis commands for all aircraft. Edit: But the little blue light on the bottom of the doo-dah, refuses to light up for anything to do with DCS.
  24. Man, it's all in my sig. It's trackIR4 Pro, with the original SW. I tried to update, but the installation hung as I said.. And to this day I still use the stock 'combat profile'. I repeat, it works fine in all my other sims, just not DCS, in two different installations, and was only affected after I updated to the latest patch of DCS World. Thanks for trying to help though,
