Is there a way to clear the Tad of old targeting markers
kra961 posted a topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Likely a dumb question, but I can't find the info on how to clear the TAD of old targeting markers. Is this possible? -

TrackIR tip for less annoying behavior

If you really want to make TrackIR work well combine it with VAC, the pause for trackIr is an awesome feature when you have you have to spend any amount of time looking at one thing. -
Have you tried adding a bit of right brake to stop the yaw to the left?
-
Weird I'm not seeing anything that's being described as a problem I have the Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals the only issue I had was rear ending my flight lead because I didn't reverse the toe brakes.
-
Do you happen to have rudder peddles? if you do go into options and clear everything out that isn't needed for toe brakes and x and y axis, you'll also likely need to invert the toe brakes

Best advice anyone can give to someone getting started is go watch videos on Youtube its amazing how quickly you'll learn, The basics are not at all that hard just takes time and a bit of dedication. You bought a full fledged Flight Sim one of the best and sadly one of very very few that doesn't cost thousands. Enjoy it.

I've finally setup vac, wow what a difference it makes using voice commands. I have a question is anyone else seeing (R-WIN +Home) and (R-WIN +End) not working in game? As well as not being able to say f10 or function 10 to trigger F10 instead I've found you have to use something like Option 10 which is strange since F1 Function 1 work just fine in game

I was coming up on 2 hour's the sun was burning through the windscreen I remember thinking I was thirsty it had been a long flight. Suddenly there was a massively loud crashing sound behind me scared the hell out me honestly. I turned to find my girl friend standing behind me saying you either eject now or I do, so I did the noble thing, I asked her to be a good girl and go get me a beer. The Flight didn't last much longer after that. :(

Thank you for the update well done. 20 is a small price to pay for continued support

Looking for some direction for a Dedicated Server
kra961 replied to kra961's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Thank you Sleem I was only interested in running a dedicated server on it and wasn't planing on running the game from it would have made it nice to be able to use a vm for the purpose. -
First let me say of all the sims I have ever used this is by far and above the best Thank you for its creation!! Not sure if this is possible but because this Sim is so frigging awesome its complexity is equally awesome the problem is the learning curve and the time needed to get it all together. An example would be you are just starting out and you don't really know the finer points of all the systems you create a quick mission jump into it and the first thing you are presented with is having to deal with the Jtac and doing something with the 9 line errr ummm hmmm i'll just fly around instead. Is it possible to have a help screen some way of learning what to do ? The flying is easy its the systems and learning those systems that are the issue. Ya I know part of the enjoyment is the learning and I agree if this was your only job or responsibility's sadly with the way things are I'm lucky to have an hour or so to myself each day. Just a thought Thank you

Velcro works wonders

If yours is anything like mine you'll find that the Saitek mapping in the game had other functions mapped to the toe brake function remove the other functions and your brakes will start working as they should without the control issues you are seeing now.

Pretty much were I find myself as well. Thank you for asking the questions

Traci Ir 5 Profile. Bad performance
kra961 replied to Gomendio's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The placement of the Head unit is very critical as well as background lighting. I slowed mine down quite a bit first few times I used it I thought my head was going to explode from trying to keep track of what I was seeing. I like the precision mode it helps smooth the tracking quite a bit. -
I can't even began to imagine not having the TM for this sim if you can afford it its the only way to fly
-
You'll learn a great deal just by reading the forums lots of great people here who are a huge resource. This sim takes time it is after all a study sim with more depth then anything else out there Major thumbs up to the Dev's! and to the community who has made learning this monster fun to do. Take your time you'll not pick it all up in a day
-
+10 On the Irtracker second best investment for the sim hands down. They call this a study sim and I can certinly understand why, after a bit of time and lot's of studying I'm able to get iron on target with some consistency reading this forum has been a huge benefit. Just takes time.

Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS - how do YOU use rudders?
kra961 replied to Treudd's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
LOL what you said :smartass: -
Just a point to remember this Aircraft is built to be stable in the air unlike a fighter which is inherently unstable its a gun platform look at the wings they are just two large slabs which really are not designed for heavy handed input's.
-
Did you try holding down the Cntrl key and using your view hat if you look at the stick in the cockpit you should see it move.

kra961 replied to Treudd's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
The Aircraft you are flying is a Gun platform first and foremost the aircraft nose needs to be able swivel, that means rudder input :pilotfly:if nothing else get some cheap peddles its well worth the cost
