  1. I just installed DCS A-10 after a few months hiatus. It updated itself to 6120. I have a problem that there is a windows 95 style mouse cursor on the screen all the time in game, it flickers and changes into a yellow cross from time to time. Before this update the cursor appeared as yellow cross and only when activated. Is there any way to restore this behaviour?
  2. I just had a CTD with CBU 97.
  3. You can start with the included Flight Manual - from page 85 on there's a detailed explanation with pictures of stick and throttle.
  4. Not exactly, shortcut with 'run as admin' ticked will simply prompt for UAC every time (if UAC is on).
  5. Documents folder is not UAC protected. My guess is it tries to write into "program files" folder or some protected part of the registry. Certainly something is botched in the Steam version. I'd let Steam support know about it.
  6. You must wait for EGI to fully align. After powering CDU and EGI on wait for the "INS NAV RDY" message. Wait for the letters to go from steady to blinking, only then change from GROUND to NAV on the CDU display and flip EAC switch.
  7. Sorry, I wasn't clear enough, it happens with the clean install.
  8. Yes, I just noticed UHF button affects VHF radio.
  9. Success! I just managed to get (almost) a full tank in a (almost) single connection for the first time! Awesome feeling :) It was helpful to me to sit high, having unobstructed view of the tanker above the wind-shield rim, through the canopy. refuel success.trk
  10. Important thing is to give the standard user 'modify' permission to the View folder. The game tries to write the SnapViews file in the protected installation folder. You need to change permissions or, alternatively, run the game with admin credentials all the time. Faster way to modify views, without toggling: 1. momentarily select the snapview slot you want to modify (e.g. LWIN + KP5) 2. pan/zoom until satisfied 3. RALT + KP0 to save
  11. Speaking about cheap improvised solutions, I tried adding Xbox gamepad to the setup including Saitek Cyborg EVO stick and a 5 button mouse. I managed to fit all the hotas functions into a config that works quite well for me. Major benefit is the precise analog slewing with the ministick and lots of 4-ways and buttons on the pad. The other one is that I could assign all of the UFC and most of CDU to the keyboard without any modifiers.
  12. 6850, no fps gain with 12.1 but no visible bugs either.
  13. I'm pretty sure it's not a problem with HOTAS Warthog, but a game bug. I assigned the "hotas slew" axes to another joystick and got exactly the same symptoms. The bug is easy to reproduce and consistent. Assign the "HOTAS slew" to analog axes, and try slewing in circles or "eights". Each time the stick crosses diagonal the sim loses track of one of the axes, causing intermittent motion, out of sync with the stick.
  14. Thanks, it's very informative! I wonder how much of it is actually implemented in the sim? PAC-1b mode in the sim does attenuate control input, but it looks like it allows only lateral corrections. When I try to move the sight up/down it seems to actively fight the stick inputs, inducing strong oscillations.
  15. You don't need a huge two handed HOTAS and pedals kit to enjoy the sim on a basic level. A decent compact joystick will do, but make sure it has a twist grip (to assign the rudder) and an integrated throttle. I'll say around 30$-40$. There is great flexibility in assigning controls in game - you can define modifier keys to reuse buttons and control axes.
  16. 1.1.0.9 Full install, 64bit, deleted the folder in savedgames. I have the same issue. I did a patch update 0.8 -> 0.9 before, had the same issue.
  17. Joystick movement response lags. It's smoothed and slowed down compared to 1.1.0.8, feels like flying by keyboard. Also, in the options there is noticeable stutter in the axis tuning window. So far I'm struggling with this issues and can't fly.
