Sure a rotor sounds are generated from so many factors... blade AoA, aircraft speed, density, temperature, pressure, global atmosphere, wind going through rotor disc etc etc... But basically, there is a common sound everyone can recognize, like in this amazing video ;-) I'm sure we'll have to hear the actual sounds on the game to make opinions, but that sounded strange on the video. Don't know if they recorded real sounds on a real one ( I wondered the one in the UK, the " G-HUEY " ) or if they created sounds with some Computer Assisted Music synthesizers...
-
Am I the only one finding the DCS Huey sounds sounds too " synthetic " ? My reference video is this one for years : What do you think ?
-
Yeah Newspeedy, I like that little story, And I also LOVE the way that forum is behaving, nothing wrong about that ;-) Just said on some other forums, which I won't tell name, they would ban everyone in less than a day ! Really looking forward to the chaos it will be over there when it'll be released ;-) Until, have nice days dudes, Hueyman

ok so please Cowboy friend ! Please give me 2000 $ so I can buy a great PC for DCS Huey, A-10 ... FSX, X-Plane, Cliffs of Dover, Rise of Flight, Armed Assault 3, Silent Hunter V ... ;-) :-) :-)

Lol guys calm down it's truly becoming ridiculous ;-) We'll have our Huey for that year, and this is already marvelous, why posting messages every 15 seconds to express yoyr frustration/excitement feeling to the whole world ? I know you did everything to waste time, reading Chickenhawk ( well, that is not a waste of time !! ) etc etc, but now it's about to be released. Everyone wanted media flow, manual etc etc... It's here ! so let's learn that manual by heart and I'm sure even before you'll know it, the Huey will wait you in the taxiway, for the MAIDEN FLIGHT ;-) I'm sorry if I feel old game but, I come from a dictatorship forum where I would have been banned 15 times just for doing 1/10 what you are doing " when is this released ?!!! when is this released ?!!!when is this released ?!!! "

Really nice Vierkles ! Moreover, I'm not English nor American so understand something written in another language is always makes me glad ^^ Funny ones

Autant pour moi ;-) Yeah, hope they'll do something in future versions. It's already soooo nice that all procedures seems to be realistic, why should we ask for more ?!( lol I know, I'm the first to do so... )

Ok sorry ;-) I'm French and my English is somewhat limited

Don't know why it's such a big deal... Conex ( Dreamfoil Creation ) did a really nice job in his ultra realistic recreation of teh Bell 206 Jet Ranger III for X-Plane where your throttle ( http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k112/solon_2006/collective.jpg ) axis control the whole range against that idle stop... that you can pass over by clicking on that button, or assign a joystick input button to do that. That is very reliable and natural, and you really feel like you start a Bell 206 ( you have your both hands on the collective for start up, one for pushing the Starter button, the other to twist the throttle grip from 0 to 5% ( then you can't go further back without pushing " idle rel. button " again Hoped just that for this one...

Does anybody know if the rotor in the game will be dynamic ? I mean, rotor tilting ( teetering ) from one side to another, completely freely ( and not immobile as I can see know ) and according to small wind/gusts on the parking ? Like every Bell semi-rigid, teetering rotor system actually do ?

100 % with you Cowboy dude ! ;-)

Ok ! Thanks for that info Rangi ! Sadly here in France, there is no way to see a real Huey... We only have two 212 in the south I believe ( Pompiers du Var ) for fire fighting ops. The only real one I saw was the one at Duxford, Imperial War Museum ( UK ) Vietnam Era ( I was totally amazed the first time I saw him in 2007... probably owned by the Fighter Collection, those who give infos to Belsimtek ? because same exhaust : http://www.flickr.com/photos/43005149@N03/4284796418/ )) Anyway, if I succeed in my military heli pilot career, I would love to have the opportunity to get a job in a 205 when retired ;-) what would be better in life here below ?...

Sorry, I hate this music but just watch the clip, I was shocked when I found that on a " Best of 2004 music " on youtube

Hello everyone, I recently purchased every DCS module, I was told someday that if I could run DCS Blackshark correctly, it could do it with A-10 and so on... I'm at minimum setting and don't go over 12 FPS... Maybe you guys here have any tips, things to deactivate to get a playable sim, in order to wait my new NASA level powerful config :megalol: ? Thanks
-
Nice Algerad ;-)
-
Ok, just bought everything ! Thanks, but would have liked to also pre order the Huey, once the Credit card was still hot ;-)
-
Ok thanks guys ! Will see what I'll do

Hello, Maybe a silly question, but is there any way to buy EVERYTHING in one pack, with a great price ? I don't have the PC good enough now to do it now, but once I got one, hopefully this summer, I really hope to take everything ! I mean, P-51,BS2,FC3,Huey,Combined Arms,A-10C etc etc etc... I admit I'm a bit lost since I used Lockon, then FC1,FC2, an BS1, I'm now totally lost on how those modules are rigged together. My wishes are a single program to launch and have access to all current modules in the same software. Thanks for your helps, Valentin

Hey very nice setup ! Yeah of course I can't compare, but... on the BK117, it's actually a force trim release system, exactly like above. Yeah, there is no SAS over it, but that mechanical system is there, for real !
-
It sould have a conventional trim, with a hat switch on for direction to set another neutral position to the cyclic stick... Dunno how it works on the Huey, but on the BK117 it's a mechanical trim which directly change stick neutral position, to release constant forces for cruise flight
-
Yeah, I second that, absolutely nothing to do with G-loading... Some new designs such the BK-117 got some devive in the rotorhead which " sense " the global stress and tension and the whole rotor hub/blade grips in torsion and flexion, showing it with a needle on a guauge. It's not recommended to overcome the red limit, it can reduce titan hub life dramatically
-
Yeah... Mode Off-Topic ON I remember when I watched the last episode, I almost dropped a tear when I saw one of them becoming Blind, and when Alberto Ruiz speak to the old WWII grandpa,... and my hero, John McKay, who is refused to work as a civil pilot for the radio... That end is such a waste, like the real Vietnam War end I imagine

No, I'm not motivated at all for that. As I said, I prefer killing my time my getting more and more knowledge about aviation in general, than make such a busy thread. Don't get me wrong, I'm 100% with you on what you said about lack of info, but as you may guess, according to my username ( the same since I use a computer ) I'm a HUEY FAN from the most crazy and lovely kind... I'm in love with that particular chopper since I'm born, so please, don't tell me you guys, who fly anything that is brand new and shiny, that you are SO impatient for this to be released as I am. I'm waiting for such a quality Huey for years, years and years... both for X-Plane and other platforms. This year, it seems that the DCS ultra realistic series of module decided to include the Huey. I think you can't even imagine how crazy and excited I was when I knew that. I wait so long, that now, even 5-6 months is nothing, I'm deeply convinced that this Huey will be the ultimate one, in my entire simmer life. This is just what I'm trying to say, Hueyman
