My specs: Gygabite Aorus gaming X470; AMD Ryzen 7 2700x @ 3700, Gygabite RX 580x 8gb, 32 GB ram @2666, Samsung 500Gb NVMe m.2 ssd. I limited fps to 60 max, and only trees make it go down to 35 when flying low over forest, making the game run laggy and unpleasent. Other than that i get smooth 50-60 fps. My goal is to keep 60 fps nice and smooth all over the gameplay.

I can't agree on low resource because, like i said, they are the BIGGEST fps killers...I really need to fix this.

Hi. Bringing up again the trees because, at least for me, they are the biggest problem in DCS - biggest FPS killers. Tried everything in settings, and nothing helps, except a line in the options file in savedgames/DCS etc. That line is ["forestDistanceFactor"] = 0.3; reducing this value to 0.001 for example disables trees totally(but not the tree damage) giving me a nice constant 60 fps during all gameplay. The problem is that not seeing the trees makes me find them by ramming my jet into them. So, i have a big question: is out there a tree mod with less detailed trees that would improve FPS, or would it be possible to implement in the game a future option for low-quality trees(this would really be useful) to save all those precious FPS? Please, please don't ask about fxo and metashaders folders... Hope this would be solved anytime soon, since myself and many others can't afford a 1500 eur videocard for the time being. Cheers! (No! Shadows have no impact on this; all shadows off will not change a bit!)

Tried all and everything, and i reached to only one conclusion: trees are the biggest fps killers! Especially when flying low. This is very inconveniant in MP when dogfighting. Stuttering can make the difference between win or loss.

[REPORTED]AIM9X recticle gone
Airmage replied to P.Carrasco =Keep Flying='s topic in Bugs and Problems
F-18C AIM-9X missing reticle Hi. Since the last update(release of TGP i think) the reticle for aim9x is missing, making it very hard to aim off-bore in with HMD. Anyone else have this problem? Is it gonna be fixed? And why has this changed since it worked perfectly fine(made lots of nice kills with it)??? -

All shadows off, no change at all. Trees are the biggest fps killers.

Terrain shadows off, shadows flat only.

Hi. Want to ask if there is a way, or a mod, setting, whatever possibility to improve FPS when flying close to ground in the presence of trees. I noticed that trees affect my FPS to the most, but not when high above ground. Played with all settings, getting 60 FPS steady with MSAA of (SSAA off all times), but even so, when flying close to trees FPS goes down to 35-40 providing a little stutter, just enough to annoy me when putting the piper on. Different tree view distance settings have no impact, neither does MSAA, anisotropic filtering, ground textures option, preload radius, so i was thinking to try something in the graphics file or anything else on the outside. Trees are not more important than FPS so, even without them i'd be happy if FPS stays constantly at 60. FXO and Metashaders 2 are deleted, with folder permisions calceled, so now they have no files in them. This however did not have an impact on the problem. Specs: Gygabite X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming, AMD Ryzen 7 @3.7GHz, Corsair 32 GB RAM @2666GHz, 500 GB Samsung m.2 NVMe, Radeon 580X 8GB GDDR5, PSU Corsair 750 W.

Hi. In the last few days i get huge fps drop in the hornet when switching to SA page, especially on 160nm range on the display(IN MULTIPLAYER). General performance in the bug when playing multiplayer is very bad (unplayable). Did not have this problem 2 weeks ago for example. Also game loading times in general have increased(it's just my impression), and ocasional stutters appear for no appearent reason. Is it due to an update ? I made no hardware changes. Specs: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X @ 3.7 GHz; Gygabite Aorus gaming X470; 32 GB RAM @2666 GHz; Samsung SSD m.2 500 gb nvme; video Aorus Radeon RX 580 8gb. PC is 2 months old. In the screenshot are the options. Deleted fxo and metashaders2 folders btw (they appear back anyway) but there was no change. Other players online said fps is just fine. Pls help.

Hi. Was wondering how would it be possible to increase light(terrain, ground objects) visibility range. As shown in the screenshot, there is a gap between Las Vegas and the margin of the "bubble" around the player's aircraft wich is rendered, the space between is dark. I tried changing visibility range in options and nothing changed. Played with graphics file but no result either. Anyone know?

Hi. While playing online i just noticed that after some gameplay, the default head position has some offset in the pit (as shown in the screenshot). It does not align when pressing the center key in trackir. Also airplane shuts off suddenly when trying to spool after respawn. This also happens with other jets(shut-off only). These were experienced with Open Beta 2.5. Pls help.

Well, i thought about all the oppinions and installed both of them...

Hi, just got new rig installed and moving to install DCS now. Need to know what version i should download since i want to go multiplayer. What version are servers using these days (it's been a long time for me)?
-
I guess that will do. Getting the rig thanks for help.

I use 2560x1440 resolution. New PSU 750W. What i mean by good fps is minimum 30 fps with lots of objects around. I set max 60 in the config file anyway. Got 28" monitor with 60 hz.

Hello. Next week i'm getting a new rig and i'd like some oppinions on my choices. The first question is the CPU: my choice is Intel Core i3 8350K 4.00GHz Socket 1151v2. Is it good enough for good multiplayer fps? Memory: 32 gb DDR4 @ 2400 MHz. Video: GeForce RTX 2070 WindForce 3X 8GB GDDR6 256 bit. SSD 512 GB on M.2 socket. Will that do?

At this moment i can play Nevada map in singleplayer but not Caucasus where it's full of objects.

I got Mi-8, UH-1, Ka-50, FC3, P-51, MiG-21, F-5, M-2000, CA. Before DCS 2 game used to run fine but in the last 2-3 years it became unplayable for me. I played the game since the beginning but now it takes a serious budget if i want to get back to multiplayer. The question was if my CPU can still hold it or not, as a compromise to upgrade only memory and videocard instead of a totally new rig.

Hi, got a question. I'm thinking about buying the Hornet, but given the fact that i got an old pc with 6gb DDR3 and a 2gb videocard i need to ask how much fps drop does this module bring. Will it be playable at: i7 920, 6gb DDR3 1333 MHz, ATI R9 270X 2gb GDDR5, HDD?
-
Thanks for the suggestions. The best choice is obviously a totally new system.
