  1. I'd rather believe the max speed is pushed up for propaganda or intimidation reasons. Overall it was stated as a non-effective missile. In previous versions of Flaming Cliffs that was imitated decently, but now i feel like the missile is too optimistic, that's all.
  2. I don't believe it is a Mach 5 missile at all. If it were so, it would be still in service. What is actually stated by combat pilots is that once you've seen it is very easy to dodge it. And a bulky missile with those aerodynamics can't even reach Mach 4. It has a 27 sec burn engine wich can push it to about Mach 3.5, making it an ineffective missile against an aware manouverable target. Besides, i think it was meant to shoot russian bombers. In the missile_data file you can find acceleration time 6 seconds and marsh time 40 seconds(!) wich i find exagerated. R-33 has the same 6 seconds with 20 seconds marsh time. Personally i belive R-33 has a longer burn time, some 29-31 seconds(probably an engine borrowed from a BUK missile), but still under Mach 4 max speed, and not after 6 seconds for sure. My general idea is that they are far too effective compared to what they really did in real life. Cheers
  3. Hello, there is a question i really need to ask after thinking in this way. Aren't the AIM54 and the R-33 missiles parameters a bit over optimistic? Official data suggests they are both ~Mach 3 missiles , where in the game AIM-54 goes well above 6000 kmh. I always liked to dodge them but now, under 40km is not possible with conventional manouvering. The picture attached shows one near to max speed.
  4. The mission was made by me. It's the Tentacle Soup Mi-8 campaign, mission 3. I did not edit any dispersal. They do disappear under the bridge even if not engaged, cruising on the road. They reappear after some distance on the road away from the bridge. It feels like that bridge has a temporal bubble where units get stuck.
  5. Hi. There is an interesting glitch: when an artillery convoy passes under a bridge, the units disappear and, if the convoy is engaged, it stops with the units missing untill the convoy resumes the mission (some 5 minutes of non-firing). Don't know if it is a general problem, but it was noticed in a Mi-8 campaign, east of Gudauta. The bridge where it happens is shown in the pic bellow. Cheers!
  6. Hi, i got this problem: especially in multiplayer, the game freezes alot when i look around, with the HDD working hard. The question is: is it a video card or a RAM/HDD problem? It makes multiplayer impossible since recent times. Specs: core i7 920@2700, 6GB DDR3, ATI R9 270X 2GB. Options settings are 1680x1050 with MSAA 4X and anisotropic filtering 16X. Shadows low and depth OFF. Cheers.

  11. Hi, i recently made a 10-mission Mi-8 campaign and i tried to upload it on the site downloads/user files as free and unlimited distribution. It said an admin needs to review the file before being uploaded, but more than 2 days have passed and the campaign is not up. Is there a reason why it may have been rejected? Thanks.

  13. So i noticed that not in the left lower corner of the MiG29 hud in vertical scand, after turning radar on, ACB is displayed, wich means the target is friendly; has it been recently implemented?
  14. What i mean by that is something on the hud (especially for russian fighters) that points IFF result, either manual or automatic. And the result should be displayed only after lock, not in search mode for bvr.
  15. Hi, i have this grinding me since a while: would it not be better to implement IFF into FC3? It is more realistic than having different symbols for friend and hostile contacts in the top-down view in BVR modes. And now that the MiG-29 does not have a tactical display anymore, IFF totally lacks in vertical and bore modes, not being able to shoot at optically locked targets. Cheers!
  16. I think it would be better if an IFF command was introduced in the game rather than having different symbology on the top-down view in bvr mode for discovered contacts (square or dot for F15, - or = for russian fighters).
  17. You are correct. I've previously stated that R-27R/ER class does not provide a launch warning but i was quitted. So i want to ask something else: R27R/ER are said to have illumination sharing with other aircraft's radar. In this case, how does the target get a launch warning, if the radar aircraft only keeps the target locked as the second aircraft launches the missile?
  18. TEWS and IFF are not related to each other. IFF interrogator antena is directional, works with the radar, sends IFF unique interrogation code to radar locked target. IFF receiver antena is not directional, it only receives a simple radio confirmatin message without knowing the direction it came from (if the target is friendly, if target is foe, there will be no reply.
  19. Oh and now, in the F15 campaign, bombing command center and ammo depot is the same thing, no damage; Strile Eagles only drop 2 bombs, one on each object wich feels no pain at all. and Happy New Year!
  20. So, played the mission again and i counted 21 hits from Kh-31 on the carrier, no damage! And the Tu-22's only hit the cruisers near it.
  21. Hi, i just got in the SU27 default campaign to the mission where you must destroy the fleet. Thing is that all ships die except the carrier. After being hit by several anti-ship missiles, i rearmed and put 2xS25, 2xFAB250, 2XFAB500 in it on a suicide mission, but it was still alive with no apparent damage. Is that thing invincible? And how can that mission be finished in this case?
  22. Make sure you have the power options settings set to high performance in control panel. Your cpu setting must not be on power saving. I runned it like that for years without knowing.
