Public inquiry. What is your PC video card?
Hornet85 replied to Chizh's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Yes it does support DX11. GeForce GTX 680 -
By analyzing the handshake between the plane and satellite, they were able to determine that the plane's last location is above the southern region of the Indian Ocean far from any land. The time of the last connection between the satellite and the plane is also near where the fuel is estimated to run out. Therefore one way or another, the plane would have gone down near it's last known location. I guess it's going to be a long process of recovery now, and I hope they will recover the wreckage, flight data, and understand what really happened.

Its not cheaper actually. He said subscription. 1 year may be $25 each, but you only have access for one year. 2 years will be $50 each in total, and access for that 2 years only. If you plan on playing for 3 years, that will be 75$ each. And after that you still lose all access unless you continue paying. Subscription-based is ALWAYS more expensive in the long run. Its a horrifying model.

Same here. I couldn't stay logged in on Chrome. Had to use IE9

What can we expect out of the single player experience?
Hornet85 replied to Hornet85's topic in DCS: Combined Arms
Thanks guys for the replies. Bought it yesterday, and just like several other users here, I spend the entire day reading the manual trying to figure out how to use it.:joystick: Turns out I need to use the mission editor and enable pilot to control other vehicle.:P Hopefully future updates will enable easier access in single player missions if possible. Amazing addition to DCS nevertheless, love messing around with the tank  -
Go easy on him, I think Rhinox has the common misconception that a video game size says something about the video game quality, at least in terms of content and visual fidelity. :P DCS World is different from other game. Its more of a sandbox style digital battlefield simulation. All the assets are already in place, they have always been since earlier modules like A-10 and so on. The tanks, the anti aircraft and so on are all already there. But they were not playable by design. CA basically introduce a new way of how you can interact with this virtual battlefield. Now it enables you to have more control over the battlefield in real time, you can control each individual vehicles, you can direct the battles and so on. It does brings new gameplay, it just doesn't need additional assets like textures, models and so on because it utilizes what's already in place. I guess to be fair to Rhinox, DCS World does introduce a completely different kind of video game, one that many gamers are not familiar with.

One of the things I enjoyed in past flight sim was evading SAM with an F/A-18 :P Understandably, we can't pull those stunts with an A-10, but I am looking forward to doing that in future fighter modules :D

I understand that multiplayer offers a better gaming experience. Lets just assume I'm a weirdo who doesn't play multiplayer :P I really don't like committing myself to a multiplayer session in any game. So what kind of experience can I get out of playing CA single player only? Is there any AI to help make a game feel like say, I'm playing against a responsive opponent? Or are they just dummies sitting around waiting to get shot at? Thanks ;)

Alright, thanks guys. No big deal, should be done in a day time :D

At this part of the world, with a 2MBps line, it will take me an entire day to download everything, lol. Still, a huge thanks to everyone at ED for your continuous support of your products, which is more than what I can say for many other video games company.

I just finished downloading the previous version yesterday, lol. Is it necessary to redownload everything?

If I understood correctly, currently the only module available for A-10 in DCS World is a beta module?

World + Modules + CA + Release
Hornet85 replied to Spitfire2170's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I completely agree with this. And I think that highlighted part is very important. I believe there will be a market for a module even if its level of fidelity or realism isn't on par with DCS. Not every fans out there needs the most realistic flight sim they can have in their PC. So the most important thing is to let everyone know exactly what they will be getting out of a module. That way, we can avoid any harsh criticism. Or at least I hope that will be the case. As someone said earlier, we're not forced to buy every module being made. If a module isn't up to our requirement, then we just don't buy it, but let others have it if they want. Most important thing is we know what to expect, so there won't be any users who paid for a module expecting something more than what it can offer. It would be unfair to criticize a module that isn't on par with DCS' own standard when we have to choice to simply not buy it.
