It's not your fault guys. The server is down since morning. We are trying to get it up but it seems an issue on the datacenter. We hope to get it up soon as we are on the final stage of testing. Greg

Moving forward part 2 - Gazelle module added for both sides (slots are available only at FARPS at the moment. Adding on airbases shortly) - Mirage 2000C returned to Red side temporary to replace MiG-21s on captured airbases. Some M2KC slots added to other red airbases too. Mirage will be removed when MiG-21 radar gets fixed for the stable version. We are trying to start the event without waiting for more fixes so had to take some decisions on the aircraft availability etc. More details should be available soon. Greg

It's funny some times to troll but are you serious now? Really? REALLY??? :D Server updated to latest stable version. Gazelle slots to be added asap. Greg

Choppers keep refueling airbases but if an airbase is left without fuel then transport aircraft Spawn and will try to refuel it from a close airbase. The enemy can shoot them down so it's not a thing to rely on for having your airbases operational. Yes, nothing really works. We just take people's money and go on vacation. We have plans for Ibiza this year. It's mostly Ciribob's fault who joined recently and we think of firing him the next days. We just kept him until now cause he is a funny guy. For people that don't like the way the server works but are addicted we could help on finding a solution in order not to join so often. Hmmm I am pretty sure Wardog doen't know how to ragequit as far as I know him :D Anyways having a description talking about like this for a guy that helps maintaining the server you fly in for free is not such a good idea. Greg

Whoever experience issues with MiG-21 countermeasures please make sure you enter with the stable version of DCS World and not Open beta. Greg
-
Hmm it should be ok as it was fixed after the server patch (I mean the older one for the stable version). You connect with the stable version and not open beta right? Greg
-
Xcom on their side?

Mirage is great and beautiful. It's a shame you tried to shoot it down. :D Thanks will check out the logs. Greg

It seems we have to wait a bit more unfortunately. Will discuss with the rest of the buddyspike team to get the final decision. In the meantime please use the stable version to enter the server. At the other hand this gives us time to add some features that were initially planed for a later stage. Some changes on the last two days should improve stability in the server. Please let us know if you experience any lag issues or so. Thanks Greg
-
Yes, if it's just captured it will need some time to repair and spawn units to capture it also physical in the sim. Greg
-
Thanks for the feedback. Yes these MiG-29s slots are a mistake. Will fix asap. As far for the website you probably spotted the downtime during some changes we did. It should be ok now. As there were some changes in the background we monitor any possible lag issues. Will revert to previous versions or tweak to fix them if they occur again. Greg

Replied also in your post in the Buddyspike website. As explained above our decision is to use the "small" setting even if many guys asked to remove it completely and "threatened" they will not join if it remains to small. We wait to do the change tomorrow if the IC is released. About the donation we are ok to return it if you feel it didn't worth. We don't force people to donate. It's a way to support the operating costs (websites, servers etc) as we don't sell the campaign as DLC or so and don't have any kind of sponsors. It definitely isn't a way to demand things though. If you thought of it like this in the first place sorry but it was wrong. Send me please a pm to take this forward. Thanks We already monitor the chat and ban players which may use these methods. There wasn't any IC before so we had to follow that way. The thing is that the impostors exploit along with other edits you can do to lua files cannot spotted and reported easily. Greg

From what we understand it should be on this Friday's update as it is already in the Alpha version. Not seen any official words though. Greg

Yes but that, as said before, is not a Blue Flag thing. What you mention is DCS related and could prevent you from flying in general in all servers. Integrity check is not implemented in 1.5 yet so no server has it. We choose to ban players from the running and next events when anything like you mention is reported. When integrity check is out we will check how to use it. Model enlargement was set to "small" by us for these reasons. Some people didn't like it and others like you say they can't fly without it. So "small" was the decision. Most servers have it to off. The thing is that at this moment with a minor edit you can really cheat so we turned it also again to off for now. It seems Integrity check will allow us to get it to small again. MiG-21 should be fixed in a next update as Leatherneck should already got the feedback from all the pilots out there. So we chose not to remove the aircraft but wait for a fix. Instead of stopping our events we try to find alternatives and keep flying. Putting the events on hold is the easiest decision and could be done with a push on a button. Ok maybe 2 or 3 :D Greg

Reading some comments make us think that there is a misunderstanding on which thread people should post about some things :D Reading about step backs... First issue came up with LEAVU. Reminding that this is not a Buddyspike creation and that it causes the same issues for all dcs servers. We spoke already with the RvE team and from what we 've seen they made an announcment asking people not to use it during the campaign. Until ED fixes the IC situation we can't really do much things on that. Maybe something will come up later but not for now. So saying that it benefits the blue side in our campaign etc is not our thing. Then there is an air to air weapons discussion. The first 3 rounds of Blue Flag were with all air to air weapons available. As we run different scenarios each time, we selected this one now and will use something else in the future. Of course some won't like that but you should respect others that actually like to use all of what DCS offers them and this includes AIM-120s, R-77s, R-27ET etc. The enlargment discussion makes me wonder why ED implemented it in the first place. Wasn't this a feature that most of the community asked for? We have it to "small" setting which helps solving the visibility issue of the simulator and at the same time doesn't reveal your position like a big dot. The Mirage vs Mig-21 is there for a reason. We always had "blue" vs "red" fighter concept. MiG-21 was in both sides as it was not a FC3 fighter. Mirage came later as a new module. Now we felt it was time to make also a separation in this to have nice air to air battles, dogfights etc. Also the Blue side has no other fighter able to carrry bombs like the Red side has (SU-27, MiG-29, MiG-21). The issue that came up with MiG-21 not working properly and Mirage not being still ready is what we monitor and as we see that we need more time to finish some things we hope we get a fix before the round starts. As I wrote previously, the truth is that we mainly focus on other things like server stability & features that will improve really the campaign. These can not be revealed before their are at least ready for testing so we hope you could be patient and have fun during the test sessions. At the moment we added AI fuel transport aircraft that can ease the choppers workload. The online map overhaul is not just a website improvement but it changed the way it worked. So much work needed there from the guys. Added back the tweaked CSAR script and will monitor about any stability issues. Changing AI fighters with modern is a thing we avoided before fixing other stuff first, as more sensors from AI (Fox 3, jammers etc) have proven heavy and could cause lag. We believe you already seen an improvement in the server stability (no downtimes, lag etc even with 55 clients). Noted again before that the easiest thing for us would be just to run again the 2nd or 5th round missions which were succesfull. Instead of that we prefer to try improve some things. The future will show if we were right about this. Greg

Yes, a new thread for the new event will open soon. We just work on some stuff like the fuel feature and can't get a change log out without being finalized or at least close to the final one. The new thread will contain all the info that the previous had and can explain much. Thank you too for your support. Greg

No we don't allow mods that can cause such kind of discussions and the feeling of a non fair play situation. But as we can't remove it now, we see what ed will do with the IC thing. We are not getting support from ED in any way, so we just use what the Sim provide us now. We rather focus on improving our features to start the round rather than getting into balance discussions which we think we handle fair enough since our first events. We can't and don't want to satisfy always everyone. Greg

Breaking news : Buddyspike team thinking of going on strike until everyone remembers that this was the concept of the successful first 2 rounds of blue flag.

Aircraft slots are daily tweaked. We should have more of them soon ;) Greg

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 5
gregzagk replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
There is no logic. Just war :gun_smilie: On a serious note, our will is to provide different concepts and scenarios each time in order to "force" both sides to adapt to new situations. This should lead to better training and help improve our flight sim skills. We mostly try to balance stuff like player numbers and features. For example we have SU-25T's in both side as they are the only module for now, able to fire SEAD missiles. Our plan is to separate A-10C's/SU-25T's also on a next Blue Flag campaign in which SEAD missions won't be against Long range Ground radars. So let's hope for the best concept choice and prepare for the worst. :) -
Will open a new thread soon, but for those that don't have still access to the planning rooms of Blue or Red, there is an application form available: *need to register to http://www.buddyspike.net if you didn't already. Application form: http://www.buddyspike.net/blueflagreg Also we seem to need more Blue squadron/pilots to balance the teams. 373vFS may change sides for the first time to help on this matter. Will see how it goes duringt the weekend. Greg

It should be off since yesterday. Please let us know if it's not. Thanks Greg

Hey, I checked it out and thought it was ok. Did a small change now that will take affect in one hour. I hope this is solved. Greg
-
We are working on some improvements for the fuel process and monitoring some server crashes we have so it may need some more time. If all goes well we should start next week. Greg
-
You should register at http://www.buddyspike.net . If already done that we will get you to your side asap ;) Greg
