Yes it is :) But we work on both concepts as from now on we will have smaller rounds with different eras. So we have to be ready for both. Greg -

A small video showing the progress of each day during the 5th round. Screenshots were taken every 4 hours. (Total 16 days) I think we can clearly see the dedication of both sides  Greg -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 5

Blue Flag's needs, change through the rounds so we try to adapt each time. In the first round, especially during testing, we had many squadrons registered that were already familiar to us due to their participation in our previous campaigns. We were flying with these guys nearly every week so we knew the active pilot numbers etc. Providing squadron slots gave the feeling of being responsible of their own squadron airbase and it helped a lot in the coordination as most of the squadrons knew were to operate from the start. This feature brought a lot of other squadrons also in as it was a priority to their list. But even if there were squadron slots in airbases, there were enough general slots also. As Blue Flag became more popular we reached at a point were we needed to free more slots for general usage. That was due to the number of lonewolves that increased but also cause some squadrons had to fly less often than before due to various of issues. Also new squadrons joined which had to share airbases with each other and that caused more issues in the availability of slots. During round 5 there were no squadron slots except 3-4 squadrons which were more active and were operating from airbases that had enough parking slots available. There were 2 only 373 fighter dedicated slots for example in Vody. It's highly possible no squadron slots will be used in the next round but they weren't reflecting too much in this particular round. Greg *LOL sniped by Bushmanni :) Exactly this. -

Some stats and details as promised: Connections: 2.623 unique player id's joined the server during round 5 (13th -28th of February) Round 5 was the most popular compared to the previous rounds of "Blue Flag" PvP Campaign. Server was full most of the days and nights giving us a "good" problem to deal with for the next events that is providing more slots to players. Server crashed usually during mission restarts and on some occasions in which we faced memory leak issues. Downtime of the server decreased a lot due to the auto restart function installed some days after the official start of the round. Below you can see Blue & Red player numbers during the 16 days of the campaign: *Click on the picture to direct to the chart link. Greg "Buddyspike" Team -

ROUND 5 IS OVER!!! Red side won this one after an amazing comeback! The war lasted for 16 days with a good back and forth. We want to thank you all for your participation and the support during the testing and the official round. Statistics of participation numbers etc will be available asap. In the meantime the US Navy announced that they can't deal with the loss... A carrier group arrived close to Poti and launched immidiately counter attack operations. Batumi, Senaki, Kutaisi & Kobuleti are free once again and ready to support a new offensive. Everything shows that the war will continue for one more night... :D -

Sorry I see you just joined the forums. If we didn't take critisism with an open mind this wouldn't be the 5th round and all the previous events wouldn't succeed enough. Hope you will like the next features. Stay tuned. Greg -

You said it all here. Thanks If it was like this it wouldn't be 16 days with full server. We don't force anyone to join. It would be less work for us as well. ;) Greg -

Most of us have these kind of machines and DCS still crashes some times. It's more complicated than that unfortunately. At the other hand we are fortunate to have this server that has a quite good line and specs without paying that much :) PS Come on, it's not crashing 30 times per day :P Otherwise we wouldn't sleep at all. Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 5
gregzagk replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
It's normal. We reached a point where you see we add more and more features and think that everything is possible. :) While it truly is by getting them easily in the missions, you must not forget that prior to a nice idea comes the stability issues. Blue flag was a no go 1.5 month ago due to the new built issues. We managed to move on but didn't resolve dcs netcode issues. It's not on our hand. Whoever tries to host an mission close to Blue flag will face the same issues. Our statements before (it's not only the pings, the data center etc) are based to many years of testing and we are not just trolling or ignoring feedback. So we decided to go on with the current built and face the issues (like warping which occurs in certain circumstances such as scripts overload or units spawn depending on the map status) . Unfortunately all the above ideas for choppers are not valid for us. - sling loads are bugged causing crash. That is why ctld use this kind of function in the first place. - when hovering function was on, lag occurred due to the timer counting each clients effort to hook a crate. - weapons warehouse can't be used except of an external warehouse file which is probably going two be used in another round if of course it won't cause workload. - by removing f10 map choppers will still have the knee board map while aircraft will lose sa cause they don't have way points (if you add way points mission file is getting bigger) Will come back to this later. Hello, the first time you join the server you must type in DCS chat RED or BLUE depending on the side you want to fly with. After this your name is logged and you won't asked to do it again. Then you have to select a general slot that is taking off of an open airbase (occypied and with enough fuel). Greg -
