  1. Thanks to SkateZilla's template and empty.dds I have now completed one of the most famous F-86's "The Huff". Not uploaded as yet, probably tomorrow.

I have made a number of alterations to the stripes most notably increasing the width of the wing ID stripes which were far too narrow.

The check tail was an interesting learning experience.

Anyway let me know if you are interested in it.

This is truly a beauty, any chance we could have a generic 51st Fighter Wing skin Bo?.....loved the generic 4th Fighter Wing one you did.

  2. Sorry BoNidle I can't help you on that issue.

But I do have a couple of small asks, see my pic,the ringed fin should be red,and would it be at all possible to move the '897' number above slightly back towards the last white vertical line you have put there, this would then allow for a slightly longer dash to be created between the FU and the 897.

Outside of these little tweaks I can't fault you it's a real beauty mate.

Please only regard this as help, this is in no way a crititicism, just my observations after studying the F-86F

  3. Wow!!...........what a treat,at last,an American F-86F,and what a beauty,these checker tailed 51st skins really look like an F-86 should,and I've got a cracking wallpaper for my pc,thank you very much

  4. I was under the impression that the P-47 was being released this year, but everything seems to have gone quiet on this front, does anybody know it's approximate release date?

EDIT: Have just found the intended release date from information on here,it's intended for release in March 2015.

  5. I am using Saitek's Combat rudder pedals as part of my set up,and was wondering if you guys are fine tuning your rudder for F-86,I'd be very interested what of these following tweaks you have altered if any, thanks.

    1. Deadzone

    2. Saturation X

    3. Saturation Y

    4. Curvature

I have at present set mine on 10,100,30,0 but I'm not that sure this is the best set up for the F-86.

  6. Might want to look closer at the name, its "Rammer" not "Rammep." I see from the picture it sort of looks like a P but closer inspection reveals some of the paint on the R is scraped/worn off. Might be able to recreate the look by using an R and then erase a portion of it.

@Shahdoh,Yes,the right leg of the 'R' has just worn away, although the outline is still there........the whole aircraft is quite weathered actually.

    Here's a close up pic.

  7. Wow........very nice!........are you aware Whiplash that the checkered section at the front is a little wider, and has three sets of checkers along it's width?

That's a very nice bare metal finish base mate.

  8. Thanks Whiplash, yes please join the party,it deserves the best

EDIT:I have noticed on closer study that the name of the aircraft 'ALABAMA RAMMER JAMMER' is outlined in a yellow outline just for reference.

  9. Guys,is there somebody that recreate 2nd Lt Arthur C.Cundy's P-51D,'Alabama Rammer Jammer',from 352nd FS,353rd FG of period October 1944?

I know 'Archangel' created a superb later version of this skin, but this is an ealier version.

It is quite different,to his later version, for a start it has the black squadron codes on the fuselarge, minus the yellow outline, which was painted/applied only to the later version. The 'B' code has a small dash beneath the letter 'B'on both sides.

It also sports the black vertical stripes on the wings and tail,as well as a horizontal black stripe across the tail.On this version he only has the one kill, there is also a text within a yellowish patch aft of the aircraft name on the port side.

The B/W pictures at the bottom, show Cundy and other members of 353rd FG crowding around this very said aircraft, note the one kill sign under the opened canopy, the last B/W picture shows Cundy and group standing on the starboard side of this aircraft.

I have contacted Archangel but he has not been on here since March so maybe he has gone elsewhere now.I think this is a real beauty of a skin and would love to see it's creation so if there is a skinner out there that could do justice to this aicreaft I would be really grateful, thank you.

  10. I've been getting gradually better and better against the MiG starting with with a 'not a cat in hells chance' to a being able to regularly out manoeuvre a MiG on my tail and get the upper hand now, especially with the lower AI levels since 1.2.10.

I do however manage to kill the MiG easier in the Dora than in the Sabre though!

Hehe,me too,I'm a far better shot in the P-51

  11. I was dying for the Sabre, now I'm dying for the MiG. ...I think the 15 is my favorite MiG. :D

Yeah, I think it's the same AI in the seat regardless of the plane. At least it seems that way. We can say we want that or this from the AI, but I personally have no idea what the cost is in terms of processor. At the end of the day, though; I can't think of any AI that I went up against in any game that you couldn't maneuver into a predictable pattern. It's just a matter of time figuring it out. If they didn't have sniper vision and super E management, you could just kick 'em over like cardboard cutouts.

To have these two A/C which were so alike, but with significant differences that change the dimension of the fight. ...in MPlayer?! Yes, please.

Yup,totally agree,I would purchase a flyable MiG-15Bis for sure,DCS take my money now

  12. Dear WWII Fans..

This Sim is absolutely awesome... but i miss some things..

Would be the Oxygen Mask visibe?

Whats about exhaust flames and smoke.. that's very important for a pistone engine,,

    sorry for my bad english...:megalol:

    regards

    Jay

Yes,agreed, same for the P-51D and the new F-86,they could all do with a little authenticity :smilewink: especially the F-86 pilot he definatley would've been wearing an oxygen mask at nearly 50,000 ft !

  13. Excuse my ignorance Madcat,I have found the route to my Defualt.Lua folder via (DCS World/Mods/aircrafts/ "aircraft" /Input/ "device" /default.lua).

I have then copied and paste the 'Armament Safety Selector' text into my Joystick Default.Lua folder, down at the bottom of the text within it,and then tried to save it as required, but I get 'Access Denied',am I doing something wrong here ?...........my first time editing controller scripts btw, sorry.
