  1. Nice landing 159th Viper, and your not using your flaps interesting....I must try this myself, great vids.

Just for the record I too don't have a problem with taxiing, taking off and landing the F-86,my biggest problem is trying to find the MiGs,but that's another story.

  2. Ok,is there a kindly skinner out there that can give us a realistic 1950's Korean War F-86 Pilot skin,I'm sure someone with some talent can better the default one we have at present,so I'm going to start us off with a few pic references.

Studying pictures on the web they mainly all have a style of helmet that is mainly white and has like a tan trim as a base,on top of this base,we then see the first personal or custom paint jobs of helmets for pilots emerging.

The first G suits appear to come in either olive green or Navy blue colours,so maybe we could have alternative skins to represent the choices, but the classic olive green with a plain white helmet would be a marvelous start to better that boring default one.I think my first picture shown is the classic look.

A very critical fault with our default pilot is that he is not wearing an oxygen mask, these aircraft were reaching altitudes of just under 50,000 ft !,my second picture shows the standard green coloured oxygen mask of the period.

Anyway as we move closer to skins coming along I thought it would be great to have a more realistic pilot to go with them, what do you think?

BTW if you have better pictures than mine, please add to aid our skinners, thanks :smilewink:

  3. does the pilot show an oxygen mask at altitude?

I'm afraid not, pilot textures are another little tweek that would make the F-86F sweeter, most 1950 Korean jet pilots had white helmets,or a white base for sure, but I'm sure we'll have it all corrected in time.

  4. I seem to have a problem when using the Comms Menu in Mission Editor, whilst flying I try and call up my flight to give them a command and the Command Menu won't show up.

The key is bound to a keyboard control by default so why the problem,it's very weird, can anybody help I'd be very grateful thanks.I have looked at my controls and no other key or category is inflicting this :suspect:

  5. I love the detail that you've added to the internals of the airbrakes, what an improvement.

You have the colour correct for them too,as I have mentioned on here before, they were not red,any red ones you see in pictures will be overpaints, the original colour is this olive green, which was also the airframe colour, top job.

  6. You don't need to mess with curve, set Y saturation to 30, this will limit output and therefore brake pressure to 30% which is about perfect. Of course make sure slider and inverted are select also.

Tip: the axis tuning interface displays incorrect position of output with inverted selected, first make your adjustments without inverted selected to observe output behavior (the big black square).

Wow.....thanks Mar,what an improvement,I really appreciate this, this is a game changer fo me

  7. I really hope they do create a flyable Mig-15,the multiplayer Korean War air battles would come alive!.......It's very much like having the new Fw190 created to go alongside the P-51D,you're going to see more multiplayer battles now,it just makes sense.

  8. I find the wheel brakes really powerful on the F-86,and was wondering if I can make them a little less powerful by tuning the 'Axis Tune' on them.

Which of these do I need to 'tune' please,Deadzone,Saturation X,Saturation Y,or the Curvature,I'm not sure which one will accomplish what I'm after.

Any help or advice would be gratefully appreciated, thanks

ps. I using the Saitek Combat rudder pedals
