thanks, I'll check it out when I get home. Edit: seems like I was doing it all ok apart from not using the laser to set the range. Also, for some reason, a couple of the missions I had "modified" the wingman was giving me spurious targets.. nothing to be found. All good now thanks!

great thanks. I will outline the steps as I understand them. Please correct me if I'm taking a wrong step: 1: send wingman out to recon and he sends datalink targets. 2: select each datalink target and send to abris. 3: Select the target using datalink panel you want and hit DL Ingress button. 4: uncage the shkval, it "should" slew to the target. 5: engage that target 6: reset systems and repeat as required. how does that sound?
-
Dont think that is the issue. I reset systems to get the shkval "caged" (backspace key) before selecting the target point then ungage again. How do I reset the datalink system? All seems Counterintuitive. I've read the datalink section of manual numerous times but it was here on the forum I learnt how to use datalink targets to slew the shkval using reset/uncage. Even the producers videos dont outline this crucial function. could you possibly outline each step to successfully lock the shkval onto a datalink target my wingman has sent me? Sorry, I'm just running out of ideas to make it work for me. thanks

Hi, I had some issues with a HDD and lost all my games, now have some problems getting BS re-installed. Mainly when I try to reinstall patch 1.02 it says "already installed". When I attempted to "uninstall" the patch it complained it couldnt find the files and removed itself from the "installed programs" list. Its clearly left behind something in the reg, but what? Is there a reg key or something that I can delete so I can sort this out? thanks

Ive got the same issue. Any targets in ABRIS I select via data link panel then uncage shkval dont slew to the right position on the ground. Its as though there is a bug and the shkval becomes unlinked from the abris. If I designate a target myself I can then later slew to this target (using datalink panel and uncage) but the shkval line on abris is in the wrong position until I hit the "target" button. It then snaps to the right position. Pretty darn anoying as it makes targetting with the abris unusable. I slew the shkval over points my wingman has sent and there is nothing there and its pretty obvious the shkval point on abris is NOT the same as on the ground seen through the HUD! Now I am wondering if changes I made to my view and helmet sight (for trackIR) have caused this?? any ideas ?

man if this was in Australia I'd be all over it!

Like the look of this modded pit, I'd be keen to see your plans (pm sent) Great work!

maybe try one of the existing profile from the forum here to see if they work? sounds very strange, you have obviously applied the profile to the sticks and tested the output?

Problem with automatic turn and aotopilot
spikenet replied to ArtMan_NL's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I've often wondered why it is always a couple of degree's off the actual target. Is it by design? Surely it has the capability to put you bang on target and give a fire solution? -
yes, in the control options select "axis tune" for your control and hit invert.
-
well I just received my new x52pro HOTAS.. looks like QA is still an issue as the joystick is dead. It lights up but no buttons or axis.. throttle is ok, bloody anoying!

Yes its hard to get it totally still. I use a shortcut to freeze the view (alt+z) when working in one area. I'll attach my settings (FWIW) your milage may vary :) Alot depends on your setup and how far you move your head while comfortably looking at the screen. http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/manual/manual.htm

Saitek Profiler troubles - Help!
spikenet replied to Gannon's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
did you try uninstalling all saitek software and delete ALL reg keys for joysticks etc? I had to do this to get my rudders working correctly -
A combination of the curves in facetracker and the controller settings in the game. I also setup keyboard shortcuts to enable me to rezero and stop the tracker and freeze the camera, this is handy for startup eetc where your using the mouse alot. Its easy to alt-tab while in-game to adjust settings then try them out of the fly.

Help: about Saitek Pro Combat Rudder Pedals
spikenet replied to robbinlulu's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi, I've experienced the same inability to install the driver win7x64. Just cannot get the "next" button to enable. The rudders work ok with default MS drivers, it would just be nice that the saitek drivers worked as advertised... If I uncover anything I will post here. cheers EDIT: Fixed my issues. I deleted ALL the reg entries for joysticks in multiple places in the reg. Started the install program and plugged in the pedals, Shazam the "next" button worked and now all the saitek stuff works perfect. My toe pedals also work perfectly in the game which is double awesome! :) -
Just stumbled on this thread, sounds like a great idea! I just got back into sims and have be spending time between BS & warthog. I've got a HOTAS on order as my old HOTAS has no modern drivers :( Look forward to joining in at a latter date! cheers

FreeTrack v2.2 - DCS A-10C v1.0.0.9 - HELP
spikenet replied to Scooby's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
yes the ac10 files from facetracknoir website. Sounds like you are putting them in the right place. Nothing else needs doing apart from setup your freetrack software. try starting a couple of instant missions, maybe it needs to initialize the headtracker.dll ?? cheers -
FreeTrack v2.2 - DCS A-10C v1.0.0.9 - HELP
spikenet replied to Scooby's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I can tell you how I got it working in facetrackernoir. I put the 32bit dcs files in hte bin folder inside the headtracker folder (create it if it doesnt exist) then just use the freetrack protocol in your tracking program. You shouldnd need to run TrackIRFixer. -
Just wondering if anyone has the 64 bit headtracker dll working in BS? works great in A10 but just cant figure out BS. thanks. EDIT: got facetrack runing in BS using PPjoy. Nowhere near as good as the headtracker.dll in ac10. Hope someone has some ideas for the 64bit version of BS and this dll. cheers EDIT 2: ok, got it working with the trackfixir. The gotcha was that the new version of trackfixir wont work! it doesnt offer the ability to patch the input.dll like the old one. So get the old version, patch the dll then run facetrack using fakeTIR. Works great. Sadly the headtracker.dll's simply dont work in bs.
