Support for DCS:Supercarrier communications has been in preparation for some time. Next plugin update will have support for Supercarrier comms through the new Realistic ATC extension. This extension is license only, i.e. it will require no additional files download. If all goes well next plugin release will be shortly (i.e. a couple of days) after ED releases the DCS:Supercarrier module in Early Access.

Confirm VA runs as admin. After running a DCS Repair, delete export.lua and use Custom Path to point to DCS program files folder. Try with OB flag both checked and unchecked.

Confirmed, this has been introduced in latest 2.5.6 openbeta update. Addressed in next plugin update, in the meantime workaround as per OP.

Hey guys just to chime in again. Great if other methods work for you, but per the manual in keywords training mode you do not press PTT at all. First confirm in Windows Control Panel that the correct speech recognition engine as is selected e.g. US English 8.0 and that it uses the same mic device you are using with VA. Then push the square mic icon, switch on the blue round mic icon in the recognizer window and start talking. Use the keyboard up/down arrows to step through the keywords. For each reconized keyword confidence is displayed in the log. Pages 38-39. Hope it helps, grtz

@mike pavitt When you don't see confidence levels in the log during training mode there's something not right. Read the user manual on Keywords Training again carefully, specifically make sure you are enabling the round mic icon in the speech recognition window. As stated in the manual, adding words to the speech dictionary should be necessary for no more than just a small number of stubborn words. Which ones, varies per user. In any case the engine will improve recognition rates the more you use it.

Specifically for the Hornet keep an eye on AM/FM modulation as you need to set that manually. To tune with easy comms off Select Tunes Radio must be set to on, not off.

The Select Tunes Radio works generally i.e. with easy comms off. It allows you to call a recipient and have its frequency automatically tuned on the radio used. "Batumi,..Select". That's distinct from the manual Radio Control option which does not involve naming a recipient. "Select 1 2 7 decimal 5", or "Select channel 5". This works with compatible modules / radios. Hope that makes some sense, more about it in the manual. Cheers

Select Tunes Radio for easy comms off works with all tunable radios including Viper, Hornet etc. Test with PTT mode NORMAL/MULTI, and unless you use VSPX leave a short pause: "Batumi,..Select". In general there can be plenty of reasons why you may not get a AI response with easy comms off: modulation, range, unit coalition, dialog state, etc. The Loud and Clear issue for Jester in latest OB build is confirmed, will be patched in next plugin update. Some people's install snags (e.g. STEAM) have to do with ED's code misalignments between 2.5.5 Release and 2.5.6 OB version. Life will be much better when 2.5.6 eventually propagates to Release. In any case the updated User Manual will contain a basic troubleshooting guide covering some of the common recurring themes on this thread. Next plugin update is planned to align with ED's DCS:Supercarrier module release, i.e. likely a few days after. Your patience is appreciated. Stay tuned :pilotfly:

All that vanilla VA can do is send keypresses. That's fine if you want to flip a switch (there are plenty of profiles for that), but useless for realistic communications. Basic VA has no awareness of DCS' dynamic mission environment state which is essential for AI comms. You can mess around with creating your own commands but once you get serious you'll soon find that sending some virtual keypresses simply doesn't cut it. E.g. menu contents keep shifting of which VA has no idea, etc. This gets messy very rapidly and cannot be resolved. In short, for realistic radio comms in DCS you need a dedicated plugin based on advanced IP socket integration which bypasses things like keypresses and the menu system altogether.

To make this more smooth, AI detection in order to have immediate VoIP switching on human-only channels will be in the next update. Yes this is known, not all module radios play nice with everything, e.g. Hornet. Hence the "for compatible radios" disclaimer for Radio Control features. Again thanks for the feedback.
