  1. Gee, was that a hint?
  2. Maybe we should have just one large spherical map?
  3. Pretty sure LNS said all aircraft will come with any necessary maps included.
  4. Maybe it was the IL-10. Been a while since I researched it. I always believed that the Korean Peninsula made a great map for sims. I always enjoyed the deep strikes in Falcon 4.0, but that is OT. The Korean war wouldn't be hard to get to since we already have Migs, Sabres, Mustangs and soon the Corsair. Add the Shooting Star and a little Bell helicopter and we could have some fun.
  5. Agreed. Let's not for get the F-80 too. Plus, I think the NK had IL-2s, but not many.
  6. When they get to the next plane, they will have figured out, A-G radar, have Jester, and carrier ops. They could easily due the S-3 Viking... Just kidding, they could easily do the A-3 Whale... Kidding again. Of course what I'm thinking is the Intruder. [ame= ] [/ame]
  7. One of the hints was that the map would be very cold and very oceany. So I think a Seeden based map is a sure thing.
  8. My opinion: Corsair- purchase day one. Viggen- wait for sale. Honestly, before seeing it today in the forum, I thought it would be interesting, but now I'm a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I think it is a good and interesting addition to the game, just doesn't excite me as much as some of the other possibilities.
  9. Beware of centerlines in covered spots as well. Not all are actually centered.
  10. A lot of Falcons in Vegas...
  11. Anybody hunt for clues at NTTR yet?
  12. I would actually be really excited about a Storch. Yes, I AM that type of geek.
  13. Tuna Pizza + a species of tuna is known as a dolphin= Sopwith Dolphin confirmed.
  14. Yup, vortex ring effect.
  15. You have obviously not been in a US Navy hanger. Corrosion control is a top priority and all maintainers have tasks to do on a regular basis.
  16. I"m new to the Black Shark, actually I've owned it for a couple of years but only recently started to really get into it. But I discovered today that the wingtip vortex effect, although lessened by the coaxial rotors can get you. Of course I discovered this while trying to drop below a hill while in a hover to avoid an incoming missile. I do remember the manual stating that the coaxial does reduce many of the adverse flight characteristics of a single rotor helicopter so it could be that the effects of translational lift are just not as strong.
  17. Don't forget the Scooter! (A-4 for the uninitiated)
  18. I would just be happy if they got the sea states right and got more dynamic weather. I mean, what fun is a trap in perfect weather.
  19. They had 21s, just not the bis. Yes, the Viet Namese theater is ripe with great planes.
  20. "Twenty-five US Marine Corps squadrons flew versions of the Phantom II and 11 of them used the aircraft in South-East Asia from May 1965 through to early 1973. Rather than the air-to-air missiles that were the main component in the original F-4 armament, these aircraft carried an ever-expanding range of weaponry. Some toted 24,500-lb bombs and others strafed with up to three 20 mm gun pods, while most flew daily sorties delivering napalm, Snakeye bombs and big Zuni rockets. Many US Marines holding small outpost positions in Laos and South Vietnam against heavy Viet Cong attack owed their lives to the Phantom II pilots who repeatedly drove off the enemy. The book will examine these missions in the context of US Marine Corps close-support doctrine, using the direct experience of a selection of the aircrew who flew and organised those missions." Wasn't one of the clues that it was an aircraft associated with LNS' namesake? https://ospreypublishing.com/us-marine-corps-f-4-phantom-ii-units-of-the-vietnam-war
  21. HMCS Surrey or the new arctic patrol boats? Good stuff!
  22. Complete with Hoover sounds...
  23. I recently installed W10 and now have a problem where my CH Pro Pedals aren't recognized on start up. I then have to pull the USB plug for them out and then re-attach it for them to be recognized and everything is then fine for the rest of the night. Anybody else have any similar problems?
  24. I was looking at a large world map we have at work and noticed that the area of the Caucus map and the NTTR map are of similar size. If we use that as a clue, that is to say it is logical that a new map would be of similar size, and the clue from LNS that their next map was "very cold and very oceany(sic)" then the two areas that make the most sense is the gap between Alaska and Russia and the Baltic Sea. I think I have to call this one for the Viggen.
