Ok then... at Red Flag exercises there is 10 different missions. All missions depends on blue and red side. Blue side simulates to NATO forces and Red side simulates to Russian planes. Btw Turkish Air Force have aggressor role there, thats mean attacking to blue side. Those 10 missions depend on eleminate to enemy and return to base safety. If pilot completes 10 missions with succesful than he achieves to get Red Flag certificiate. There is no competition or grade test between airforces. The main thing is simulate a war and make Nato forces work together like a team without misunderstand each other.
Last year some funny story happend at Red Flag. One Turkish F-16(Aggressor) plane is shot down "9" Blue Forces plane (F-15, F-16, Mirage etc.) Pilots of blue force is objected to Turkish F-16 pilot and they told that Turkish F-16's laser pod is calculating wrong so their planes signed wrong. Anyway, tower called back Turkish F-16 pilot and he returned to base. After Turkish F-16 is landed US technicians checked his laser pod and they found out nothing :) So these year again TuAF is Aggressor.
