  1. Still not got these (SAB-100/smoke-rockets) to work with the AI; had a look at the campaigns (I haven't flown any of these -I'm busy working as part of the 159th!) to see if anything could be gleaned, but no joy. Anyone managed to use any of these with AI?
  2. I'm trying to get AI aircraft to use smoke-marker rockets and SAB-100 candle-bombs. I've easily got them to hit targets with regular weapons, but they will not use either of the above! -Even when they have these and no other ordnance to choose... Anyone any ideas? Thx!
  3. I've only shot at a Mil-24, but I had no trouble killing it either with or without the air-borne target mode on. And, one hit did for it every time.
  4. Regarding the A2A abilities of the Hokum, I have a good book (Modern battlefield warplanes) which asserts that the Ka-52 and the Ka-50sh (night-capable Hokum) can both carry the R-73 and the Igla. Not sure if this is correct, or how useful this is in RL, but I'd love to carry either/both in BS...
  5. Thanks to CSD and all who pointed out Wombat's fix for multi-cores, it's made my BS life so much easier now I don't have to manually set affinity any more...
  6. Thanks for the solution, Wombat; not having affinity on both cores was a real problem for me, and a MAJOR pain. This has fixed it nicely! :)
  7. Thanks CrazySD; I'll look into that soon as. If it works for me too, I'll be a happy-chappy for sure!
  8. Well, it makes no difference when I use Priffinity; It shows in the Priffinity box (which is always there either on-top or in background) that it's supposedly using both cores, but only if you tab-out of BS and go back in will it work thus. This is what I'm trying to avoid doing in the first place... It's an easy tool to use, and I've utilised it every way I possibly can do.
  9. @ Lange; I had seen this, but it's such a pain to have to do this, and allied with long loading times... -I was hoping to get a solution -which Priffinity seemed to be offering. As for the consequences of not using both cores; some commands will not work, I hear the windows 'exclamation' noise on many key-presses, and my controller's buttons don't function on some commands or simply enact the wrong commands, are the main results. Activating both cores also slightly improves FR. So, I'm just hoping that I can make life much less hassle when using this mostly other-wise great sim.
  10. I've had a problem since installing BS on my PC; It will not run on both cores with-out either Cntrl/Alt/Del out to Task-Manager and setting the affinity or Tabbing out to desk top and setting it. This has to be done after I get actually in-mission/flight for it to work, and has to be done each time I fly (go in or out of mission etc). If I don't set it to run on dual-cores I get control issues. I have tried Priffinity, but this does not work for me. Any ideas?
  11. A really good flight-modelled Harrier/AV8B would be the best as far as I'm concerned!
  12. Ok Boberros, problem sorted! What you said fixed my above problem AND gives a nice little increase in FR! Cheers!!!
  13. I would try that Boberros, except I can't alt/tab out of BS!
  14. I have the Russian BS along with most in the 159th GAR, and myself and a couple of others are having trouble with assigning some controls. Basically my problem is having things such as screenshot command (left as default in game) not taking screens or doing so some of the time. Another is when entering a MP session; I cannot enter my user-name or manually type in an IP in the GUI. Most commands work OK but many do so with the windows warning noise (doink noise...) each time they are pressed. I wondered whether it could be a localisation issue ('cos we're running the Rusky version), or maybe a bug? Anyone else get similar?
  15. You haven't just been leaving the laser on and not realised that it needs turning off to cool, have you? If left on, after 50 seconds it will automatically switch-off to cool down. You can override this, but do it too often and it will stop working. If this is not the case, ignore this! If it is, then the laser is something that requires using carefully, with time between runs to cool down.
  16. I also get the problem as described above, but find that after deleting those files it will happen again in the not too distant future. I did find a way of preventing it returning for a long while though; open the mentioned files with notebook, delete all present and then save. The folder then still exists, but it seems to slow the re-occurrence for quite some time. :)
  17. It occurred to me the day whilst using my cannon; is this how loud they sound in RL? I would imagine they are a good deal louder! I've seen a track or 2 of A-10s running in and letting rip, and it's loud and clear; surely if you're sittin' over the thing it'd resound around your little cockpit and half-deafen you?
  18. I wondered whether the gun-pods could be made to converge; in real life at least. Anyone know if the pods require calibration -as the on-board guns have? (in RL) It's a shame that you cannot get the pods to converge at X-distance: if you could do so THAT would be an effective and destructive shower of s**t!
  19. I often wondered if the thinner top armour was modelled in LO. Anyone know?
  20. I've been re-using the pods whilst trying to find a good mix of weapons that will be as accurate and destructive as possible. In previous RF, lack of time over target is normal, and so quick and accurate strikes are preferable. I have had some good results with the pods, doing in SHORADS, but I'm finding that the lighter rockets seem a bit more powerful and requiring of slightly less accurate aiming when you are under duress etc. I set a test flight against 2 Molniya ships, and with the pods and 57mm rockets, they took dozens of hits before blowing-up! I know I was hitting them fairly accurately because of the post mission screen recording endles hits!
  21. I just find them very inaccurate; Bit like using a blunderbuss against a fly... Shame really, 'cos I like using these sorts of weapons and unguided rockets, -but if you have air-defences around, they are a bit impractical.
  22. Here are all the AP modes available in the T-Frog; AP override Alt~ (hold to activate) AP Attitude hold Alt 1 AP Altitude/roll hold Alt 2 AP 'Panic' (returns to levevl flight Alt 3 AP Barometric Altitude hold Alt 4 AP Radar Altitude hold Alt 5 AP Route following Alt 6 AP disengage Alt 9 I find the AP attitude hold the most useful; after any sort of action -including using ordnance from one wing (where plane in then unbalanced) it then re-trims quickly for you. Then disengage to continue opps. Alt/roll is handy for 'surveying' the field -spotting for targets or what-ever. Baro alt hold is good for en-route to waypoints etc.
  23. Yeah, client planes always appear in a set order as to regard the location of their spawning points; -they take no account of anything else in game or on the map. Although they do take some regard of the wind direction, and which RW direction will be used.
  24. I cannot do the whole flight as I'm due up early next morning. But, I can do the first 2 hours, if that's any use. I'm a regular 25t man, -although I can fly Mig29/Su27/33- and am happy on either red or blue. If you want, I'm happy standing as a reserve, or last minute slot-filler (sounds a bit rude...) for either team.
  25. Dewey, one more point; if your settings are in metric and not imperial measures, then that 300 is in KM/H, not knots. There's a lotta diiference in 300 Knots and 300 KM/H...
