Hi I want to edit the weather in a campaign mission. It lets me edit in the editor, but the save as function is always greyed out. Is there any way round this? Thanks

Hi I am trying to do a TACAN approach landing. In my example I am flying on course 000 towards Senaki using my TACAN. Senaki's runway is on a West to East orientation so I have set my Course to 090 on my HSI and bearing needle 1 is pointing at 000. At around 15 miles away I turn left until this puts bearing needle 1 on 090. I then bank right and am supposed to fly a circle, always keeping the same distance and BN1 pointing at 090. And this is where I have the issues. 1) I am not sure exactly how to fly a circle manually. How severe the bank should be and am struggling to keep BN1 at 090. It always travels anticlockwise. Do I use the autopilot bankhold? And if so at what angle of bank and how to make sure it orbits the airfield? 2) And at what point to actually turn right towards the airfield? Advice appreciate.

Hi Anyone in the Euro Zone willing to spend an hour or 2 flying with me for a TACAN/ILS lesson? I know what they do and I can use TACAN to get to direction and range. However setting up an approach and using the HSI/CDI is something I need help with as I usually just land with VFR. Also the approach should help with ILS which again I struggle a bit with. So should hopefully be a quick lesson and I would be extremely grateful. Thank you

Hi I am doing the training campaigns again. Can someone remind me how to set a height limit that I am not allowed to fly below? I can just remember it's something to do with the UFC. Thanks

Gauging distance to ATC waypoint for landing?
bunraku replied to bunraku's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Thanks for all replies -
Hi. When you advise ATC you are inbound and they say fly a course for a certain distance, how are you meant to gauge the distance? So if they say turn to bearing 180 for 12 miles, how do I tell where 12 miles is along that flight path if that makes sense? Is there a way to mark it and make a waypoint? Thanks

Hi What is your preferred volume settings and why? Just trying to get an idea of what's best for each setting? Thanks

I am sorted guys. Was all down to IGN Motor switch timing. Thank you all.

Thanks for replies guys. At work at the moment so doing this from memory. Not wanting to do a windmill start so just low level. I am doing basic training campaign mission 2 in 1.5(Latest version just patched) 1) I am moving 1 engine to off. 2) Working engine to full and auto pilot on straight and level. 3) Bleed Air off 4) APU On 5) About 30 seconds later APU Gen on 6) Engine Operate Switch to Motor 7) Inoperative engine to Idle Thanks
-
I have it and it's not working for me. Even watching videos on youtube it's not working.

Hi What exactly is the process to restart an engine using the APU? I've seen some videos where people using the Motor Switch and some don't. Is it as simple as 1) Bleed Air off 2) Start APU 3) APU gen on after decent time interval 4) Move throttle for affected engine over Indent? Thanks

Hi Guys I apologise, but thought I would try a different freshthread. I have an issue just now where I find the A-10 can never really can be trimmed straight andlevel. I’d say it is more banking than pitching. I have flown the A-10C formany years on and off and can’t remember it being so hard to fly and I passedthe Basic and Advanced training campaign previously. Maybe I am wrong? I have the issue the plane wants to bank left, so I trimright. Maybe just 1 or 2 clicks and now the plan wants to bank right. So trimleft and now it wants to trim left. It’s like it overtrims or the the settingsshould be milliseconds instead of half seconds. Even no payload or wind and itstill wants to bank eventually (However slowly). So right now it’s more aquestion of getting level as possible and holding the stick constantly orgetting level and Auto Pilot on and off, on and off etc etc. I have the TW Warthog. I have calibrated through Windows. Ihave also Calibrated with the TW Calib tool which I thought was rubbish as itjust told you push up and down etc and not in full circles. In W10 Calibrationit shows X and Y axis dead centre at 32768 which I think isperfect. So if that’s the case it must be the Hog?? Like I said earlier I can’tremember it being as hard to fly straight and level once trimmed. It just seemsI can’t get it trimmed. Any thoughts? Is it the 1 Modelling in DCS? 2 The Joystick? 3 The settings in DCS controls? Thanks

I'm finding it frustrating too. I spend the whole mission trimming or on Autopilot to fly level.

I've posted a video below. There is no wind and no payload. It doesn't pitch much and the trim there isn't too bad. However the bank kicks in eventually. You can also see around the 3.45 mark that it is banking and I do 1 click on the trim in the opposite direction and it eventually starts to bank in that direction. I can't remember it being such an issue and I really don't wanna hang on the stick for a whole mission. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HXBtKeiy9o __________________

Best settings for Stable A-10C using TM Warthog.

I tried calib tool. My Hog seems very unstable. No Wind and I am having to trim all the time and am finding straight and level very hard. Is there anything you guys can suggest. Might be the rudder on my Saitek pedals I suppose. I just tried it in arcade mode and flew steady so maybe it is the avionics or weather, but I can't remember it being this hard to fly straight. It's constantly going 1 side or the other. -
Hi Just reinstalled A-10C after an 18 month absence. I have the TM warthog and Saitek Pedals and believe as far as I know they are calibrated correctly etc. I am struggling to fly straight and level without trimming. And when my plane is leaning 1way and I trim the opposite way even just one or 2 tiny presses and my bird starts to lean the other way. It's never the case that the 1 push levels the plane out and I am always having to manually hold the bird level or trim every few seconds. It's annoying having to practically hold the stick the entire flight. I have downloaded the WH Calib tool and it hasn't made a difference. Any ideas what else I can do as I can't remember the Hog being so hard to fly previously? Thanks

Hi Just passed A-10C Basic Qualification mission 1(Again as completed a while ago when was Maple Flag). However it's still showing as Mission 1 and not moved me on to Mission 2. How do I fix this? Thanks
