  1. Unfortunately I completed the campaign before 2.0.2 went live. Taxi problem never happened (although I always wait for ATC permission). If you are complaining on surprise spawn of MiG-23, wait for Mission 10 :-)
  2. You may be right about the flags, Accipiter, but in case of Mission 10 there should really no flag for failure, at least not by loosing strike package. The briefing explicitly ("For the first time this Red Flag, I don’t really have to worry about what any other Blue Air players are doing") states that other planes are not my concern.
  3. In the last mission briefing there is information that pilot should not be concerned with strike package aircrafts and the only goal is to kill the Mainstay. Yet (some time after successful kill on A-50) one of Colts gets downed and I receive "Mission failed" message. Fortunately when I landed it turned out that the first "mission success" was held in credit and I completed the campaign - but the flight home was very frustrating.
  4. Maybe I missed it somewhere, but will F-14 come with some sort of single player campagin?
  5. First of all it lacks clickable cockpit. After that follows simple startup, simplified radio (no frequecies of any sort), generally speaking anything that would require complex instrument interactions is missing or simplified (ILS arfields are chosen as waypoints, not freqs for example). Having said all that you have nice HUD with different modes, radar working in multitude of modes, with antenna elevation and range settings operational, very nice flight model, different weapons with different characteristics - not that simple at all.
  6. Thanks! I must have missed that thread :/
  7. Hi guys, Having some RL flying experience I grew a habit of following ATC instructions. This is rather difficult in Red Flag campaign during launch if I want to hit published push times. In missions 3 and 4 at least, I wait until ATC gives clearance for taxi, hold at the runway threshold and call ready for departure (takeoff, actually). And, although runway has long been cleared grant never happens. Only when I violate the procedures and start my takeoff roll I get double message - unable to clear takeoff and right after that cleared for takeoff when ready. Anybody notices similar thing?
  8. Fortunately it's laser printer, and not my own at that. Actually the one provided by George is OK to print - thanks a lot!
  9. Still, no matter how exactly NWS works - the DCS F15 (with or without extended steering range) is very susceptible to crosswind - it almost immediately veers off-course on take off roll, and even slightest rudder input makes it very wobbly. I can handle this most of the times but I wonder if it's correct behaviour.
  10. Same thing happened when I practiced gunnery on a lone Tu-160 Blackjack - 3 engines burning and no f***s were given ;)
  11. I'd go for one or if majority prefer variety max 2-3 voices.
  12. Hi guys and gals, I am starting the Red Flag campaign, just arrived in Nellis ;) I wanted to print the entire documentation into one neat volume but I am missing one thing - front cover :) Is there any way to get high res pic as the one from the store page? Any ideas? Thanks!
  13. Ah, indeed Sabre - there are Advanced and Tactical trainings for A-10C :D Great! I didn't see any for F-15 and assumed it's like this for every platform, but I am (gladly) mistaken. BTW, are they going to be sold by ED as well? I'd be happy to buy them for A-10 but rather have them from official store - that means waiting for 2 other parts, right? Thanks for the update Sabre!
  14. He's got some point, Sabre :-) although, the overall idea is nice: the campaign really lets you practice some somewhat more advanced flying before getting down to serious business in combat campaigns. The true benefit would be if we got "combat mission ready" training as well.
  15. Thanks for the update on BFT08 - before checking this page I was forced to follow last instruction twice ! (If aicraft is no longer controllable - eject :) ) Fortunately my seat maintainers did perfect job ;-)
  16. Thanks! Will check it out today.
  17. Hi Guys, I've got a newbie question. I just finished by basic "training" with A-10C. I know how to fly (well, thats easy since I know basic instruments and navigation from real life), learned how to implement weapons in controled environment (practiced training missions till I was bored to death). I am still having some problems with complexity of "regular" combat theater - everything is happening at once: radar spiking, SAMs, AAA, and in brief few minutes I need to find a target, slew TGP / MAV, attack and don't get killed. I only recently realized that I got JTAC orders to "acquire" - training missions didn't mention that. My question is: do I request JTAC mission on the airstrip? The shortest "time on target" is 15 minutes and I usually arrive much sooner. What is the proper way to communicate with JTAC? Cheers!
  18. @vegachavez: that's why you need to press space in tutorial :-) It's a "built-in-pause" to make sure you've listened to all the details and done all the tasks you're required to do - by pressing space you're confirming that you're ready for the next steps. It's *not* for manipulating any actual aircraft systems.\ Cheers!
  19. What I find most usefull is something that my IP called a Combat Turn; that is half-a-loop but with wings banked. Basically you raise your nose to some degree, bank your wings (that is: you don't perform the figure verticaly but in 45 degree relative to horizon) and pull the stick (gently, otherwise you'll reach critical AoA), then level out when you've changed direction - even if your bird is heavily loaded you can quickly reverse flight direction this way and prepare for another strafing run. Enjoy! Avantar.
