  1. Mavericks I was having the same problem. I had no problem locking up a target in the open, just not when they are hiding in town near buildings, bridges and other structures. I could get them to lock inside 1/2 mile, but then you are committed to a suicide run. A thought: maybe it is the type of Mavs. For example, an AGM-65K might be more suited to buildings/bridges--a D or H model might work better in this situation. I have not looked at the model differences yet so I'm just thinking aloud. If I try that idea later I'll report back with results.
  2. Has anyone had success with this mod in 1.2.7? I have been using trial and error for a few hours now and cannot make it show up. I get the standard DCS kneeboard, no matter what I do. Installed the 1.2.6 ver. I tried to manually install, then I tried JSGME. The same result. I have searched the forum, read most of Peter's posts, and searched for the dummies guide. I am using those and the original instructions from the first version. Any ideas appreciated from those with a successful install? More info upon request. :joystick:
  3. :helpsmilie:A little help please. You see the issue. Older missions used in FC3 produce this view through the HUD. Even in HUD only view it is the same. Magician's fix of unzipping all but the config/view files from the .miz mission file and then rezipping did not work. Any ideas anyone. I have the ability to edit with notepad++ if anyone knows the line and values. Thanks.

  5. Options Panel How do you bring the Options Panel up in game? That's awesome if we can make control input changes on the fly instead of having to back out of the game. Or is it just for the AI gunners? :joystick:
  6. Missing Reply So, Vampire, I've read several requests for your guidance deleting the doors, mounts, winch, etc. Now I'm getting one from someone in our group. Please, share your thoughts. It's okay if it's a work in progress. Let us all dive in and find a collaborated solution, so to speak. Thanks, Crashmo
  7. Sorry for a late reply I have made mine into a modifier. When I first tried I noticed the controls did not see it. Then I recognized the area above the entry blank was set to keyboard. When I clicked on it I was given the option of entering the saitek stick. After I set that option, the pinkie switch would show up.
  8. Subtle Taalab Securities Bedouin, sorry for the delay. Here is the repainted grey/white. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/48882875/Taalab.zip And anyone else that wants it. :pilotfly:
  9. Yep. Any color you want. Somebody just put the pilot in jeans recently.

  11. These are awesome! Upuaut, what is the name? What does it mean? Just curious.
  12. Taalab Security https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nlw7pnfz91tpwzx/i-Uqlm6Jq_/Taalab.rar If that does not work--I had some problems compressing--try this one: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nlw7pnfz91tpwzx/T1_Qr2c2Vz/Taalab.zip I'm glad I got to use the design. All the files are called Candace, don't worry too much about that. I had to name them something when I began. It is the Taalab ship from the previous posts. :pilotfly:
  13. Taalab I've had this waiting for something to throw on it. I like Upuaut's better. But this helicopter has a better story. In the 80s, when I was in my early 20s I worked at an FBO where we rented airplanes, did maintenance, flew charters, etc. This Huey flew in while I worked in the maintenance dept. They wanted a Night Sun spotlight mounted on their fuze. They had it with them and just needed tools and help, so we did it. Years later I was working across the street at a different FBO. A girl came in and wanted to learn to fly. We started dating and when I met her father--it was him, the same guy we mounted the Night Sun for. He was a pilot for the FBI. They had been flying some a mission which resulted in big bust on some ranch in California. This helicopter had taken on many paint schemes, including one that was all black with the only marking being a playboy bunny on the tail. At the time there was a major anti-porn initiative being driven by someone high in the administration, secretary of state--something like that. Anyhow, he was visiting high schools in San Francisco. They get the FBI to pick him up in a helicopter at SFO and fly him around to the high schools and land on the football fields so he can make his anti-porn lecture to the students. My girlfriend's dad was the pilot and they flew the bunny bird. :megalol: They flew around to the high schools and the muckie muck from DC never said a thing.:music_whistling:
  14. Sorry for my ignorance. What is a PMC?
  15. ^^^^^^^ I would say that is more than a worthy project.
  16. Finished Cal Fire Skin Well, a project of magnitude. It could not have been finished this year if not for Upuaut. Many thanks to all who encouraged the work, I learned a lot about programs, .lua, and Photoshop on this run. http://www8.zippyshare.com/v/19810758/file.html This is ver. 2.0, essentially finished. I will also post it in the DCS skins for the Huey. :pilotfly:
  17.:thumbup::thumbup: How do you guys even know this stuff? The amount of information and knowledge I gain from forums of all kinds is internet paradise. Like the saying goes: I have, in my pocket, a device which can access all knowledge known to man. I use it to look at strange cat videos and argue with people. :D
  18. Model Viewer Here's my problem: I usually work at home on a 23" screen with a 1980 x ... resolution. I always use my laptop so it is the same computer, just a bigger monitor at home. Now, on the road, I have my laptop screen at 1366 x 768 resolution. Model Viewer works, but I cannot display the liveries dialog. So I cannot load anything other than the default army livery. I've tried a lot of things to get the liveries dialog box to display, but failed. The liveries dialog is checked, but no window displayed. Does anyone know of a fix for this? Is there any other way to load liveries? thanks in advance
  19. That is outstanding! I have been working on the other side and thought I would give you some tips from my side of the work. Ha ha ha. I'll just let you take it from here if you like. My Model Viewer is glitching so I want to fix that first. And I'm away from home on a 4 day trip again, but I brought the laptop with me so I will continue working on it. :pilotfly:
  20. Right you are, I'll change that later today.
  21. alignment help I will take any help you are willing. Many Thanks. Here is the body template, I can handle the alignment with the tail. The tail is mostly finished. http://www29.zippyshare.com/v/80786884/file.html And the Cover: http://www51.zippyshare.com/v/31776871/file.html This is what we are trying to achieve. Also, the Youtube site is of Tom Humann's aircraft, the actual one we are modeling. It's the last photo, 104, N481DF. Cheers
  22. description.lua Thanks, I did try that and it didn't work for me. I'm not sure why. It does work with the way I wrote and you're correct, I did have to reload it when I did an update.
  23. Aaarrgghhh Thanks, I guess it won't be a perfect paint job then. Well, it has taken so long and there are many fine adjustment left to be made. Here is a preliminary file if you wish to play with an unfinished product. I will spend the next weeks refining things, adding pin striping, aligning stripes, etc. I spend some time every day, so far about 15-20 hours. My eyes get wiggy from looking at the screen and I have to stop. http://www8.zippyshare.com/v/19810758/file.html This is ver. 2.0. For now, we'll call this a finished version. I will also post this again on page 24 of this thread. Many thanks to Upuaut for his 50% input. If you want the weapon mounts to appear white, like they do here, you must move a file to textures. Included in this folder (which would normally be placed in you DCS World/Bazar/liveries/uh-1h folder) you will find a file named: Uh1_weapons_wht. Cut that file from here and paste it into the DCS World/Bazar/textures/uh-1h zipped folder. Win 7 will automatically compress it as necessary. Disregard this last paragraph. I just didn't reload it correctly in my model viewer. As pointed out in the post below, use notepad ++ or something like it and change the description file to read false in the weapons line where it now reads true. {"uh1_weapon", 0 ,"Uh1_weapons_wht",false}; Every time I make an update, I will post the new file here. Keep an eye out for the change versions.
  24. Skinners and Painters Hey Everyone, I have found that the templates have an alignment problem on the engine housing and looking for solutions. Along the top and side of the housing are vents that are vertical on the sides and horizontal along the top of the housing. They are long and thin. There are about 12 of them. The vents have a small cover over each one venting the air from inside to outside of the housing toward the back of the aircraft. These little individual covers are not aligned with the vents themselves. If one paints the housing a solid color this doesn't matter. However, if I paint stripes across the vents, the stripe crosses the vent and each little cover at a different place, causing misalignment. Does anyone have a solution to this? Example: :helpsmilie:
  25. Progress There is progress, but it takes more time than I anticipated. Alignment of the templates to paint lines is not intuitive. Sometimes parallel lines on the template are all catywhampus on the model. The covers alone are 2 hours and I'm only finished with one side. Stick with me, we'll get this done. My hat is off to the original 3D designers and painters.
