  1. GDay Steel Jaw I to have travelled down the path shear frustration with the cougar. Rarely does my comp recognize the cougar is plugged in and when it does i flash it just for the comp not to recognize it again...the very few times it was recognized, in CCP, things are turning off and on on their own ( almost called a priest for an exorcism for that). Last time my cougar was stable was like 3 or 4 years ago ( just got fed up with trouble shooting between now and then). I bought the cougar when it first came out then, i bought the Realsim force sensing kit for the stick a bunch of years ago (which was more expensive than the cougar hotas by the time it got to me in Canada), so i would like to get the cougar up and running again but in my layman assessment i think the board in the cougar is pooched. Anyways...all of the above is to say some time ago i came across this thread in search of trying to find a solution again: This fine gentleman (Duckling) has come up with an alternative board and has kindly provided schematics and gerber file/parts list and instructions to make a replacement board. Recently i have pulled the trigger and had the PCBs made and have ordered the thingyma bobs and stuff that go on the board. Im waiting on the parts and pieces but i got the PCB boards a couple of days ago. I had to order 5 as a min quantity for the boards to be made. I would willing to help a feller out if you wanted to go down this road and send one of my boards to you (no cost for the board, i wouldn't imagine sending it by mail would be much, but if it was kinda ridiculous we would talk). Anyways...if the Ducklings solution is the way u want to go and would like the board...let me know.
  2. GDay Duckling Im very much excited about what you are doing here. I pretty sure my board is a couple of heart beats away from going kapoots. It wont hold firmware, button and axis emulation in CCP will turn off and on every few seconds on its own (almost called a priest for that one). I bunch of years ago i bought the Realsimulation force sensing kit for the cougar (my wallet and me cried a little), but in short im looking for a updated board to keep the stick and throttle going....and i stumbled on to what your doing which is fantastic. Am i correct in that your in development phase here? Is there an intent to produce these boards to replace the originals Again..excited on what your doing, look forward to more.
  3. Hello When im able to get CCP to recognize the cougar (another battle), the "Button&Axis elimination is on/off"...will skip on its own between off and on. Any ideas why it may be doing this? I have loaded the firmware a bazzilion times, cleared the buffers and other things via Foxy. Thanks
  4. GDay All When i plug my Cougar into the computer...nothing happens, the computer/win 10 doesn't react to it what so ever. When trouble shooting through FOXY, it says item is not connected. Iv tried connecting into several usb slots and nothing happens. There is no reaction from the computer no matter where i plug the cougar in, even tried to plugging it into my laptop, not reaction there either. It was working fine before, no issues, then i got and used the TMaster F18, used that for a good while. Decided i wanted to use my cougar again...well.....im really hopeing its not dead. Im running Win 10, the cougar has the realsimulator mod. Any thoughts would be appreciated......Thanks much in advance.
  5. For the life of me i cannot point the program to any directory that satisfies the program....I am only running openbeta. I have pointed it to my saved games folder and only selected the DCS.openbeta folder and i just keep getting the same error: Error: [WinError 267] The directory name is invalid: 'C:/Users/*****/Saved Games/DCS.openbeta\\Config\\Input\\aircraft.lua'. I have tried it with changing the DCS.openbeta folder name to DCS World...but i still get invalid directory error and a couple of other tricks to keep getting invalid directory error. Im out of ideas. Any help or hints appreciated.
  6. Hello Loving this idea....i struggle to remember what stick i have programmed how. Any case....when i select the DCS World tab and try and source the saved games installation path, it gives me an error: Error: [WinError 267] The directory name is invalid: 'C:/Users/*******/Saved Games/DCS.openbeta\\Config\\Input\\aircraft.lua' Is it because of the DCS openbeta....or did u just flat out do it wrong? Thanks in advance
  7. Thanks for this SVgamer72 Ill give it a good read and tinker around. Thanks again.
  8. GDay Iv been trying to wrap my head around the values to enter into LUA for a long time, but im not half as smart as i think i am. My setup-1 main monitor and 2 separate tft monitors (10 or 8inch) that i would like to use as the MFDs. My main screen rez is 1920x1080. Should i make the smaller monitors the same rez as the main..or a lower rez like 800x600? Im lost as to what kind of values to put in the LUA for width and height for the 3 monitors. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.:smilewink:
  9. Ok..i thinks that's got it....i didn't realize i could/had to click on the word DCS Bios in that menu. Thanks very much PEEP.
  10. Little Help With DCS Bios-plz Gday Im having a bit of an issue with my PZ55 (Im using ver 3.6.6 of DCSFP). When i start up DCSFP i get an error (attached). I think i know what is the error, as it points to the "DCS" folder in the saved games, but, the folder on my saved games is "DCS.openbeta", everything else is the correct file structure. Can i just delete the .openbeta portion on the folder name without it screwing up the rest of the game? The error says to make sure its pointing to the right folder...make sure whats pointing to the right folder? and how/where do i enter the path to point it towards the DCS.openbeta folder? I cant see anywhere in the menus within DCSFP that i could make this change. Help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
  11. Ditto on Killin`Ducks comment. I too have the PCB board and am extremely happy, thanks Debolestis.
  12. Thanks much for the these. Looks like goods stuff, im going to print these out.
  13. yes, i three monitors that run through a Matrox Triplehead2go Digital vers.
  14. Gday All So i tried this link: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=203614 in an earlier post to see if it would work for me, unfortunately for me it hasn't. I can fly for 20 min before before it freezes where as before it was about 10 min. I can see when its about to freeze as the game starts to stutter before it locks up, but i can still hear the game even thought my screens go black. Ive flown twice with the setup according to the link, the first time it froze, i could close the game via task manager. The second time it locked up hard my fans increased in rpm (assuming it was the vid card fans) and i had to reset the computer. Im assuming those of us that are having this problem probably don't make up a large portion of the community, but i do hope its getting looked at, knowing this probably isn't an easy problem to solve. Just going on the record, love the sim, thanks DCS
