  2. RIP. My condolences to his family, friends and all in this community who knew him. And my deep gratitude to everyone who is moving the field of flight simulation forward and is bringing the dreams of so many a step closer to reality. MAC
  3. Good interview, well worth listening and well done Wags. Big news for me is that the FW190 is going to be an Eagle Dynamics/Fighter Collection DCS production. Way to go! MAC
  4. Hey Ali, Don't want to sound pessimistic, but that's a photo...just looks too good to be true. MAC
  5. Dora would make the most sense to put up against the Mustang. But hopefully other versions of will be also released by and by (also for the Mustang!). MAC
  6. Yes, point is that someone is working on it. First time that has been offically confirmed now. MAC
  7. FW190 confirmed in DCS World Overview video! MAC
  8. FW-190! Which one(s)?!! MAC
  9. Can't argue with you on that, although it would be nice if it would work. However, apart from the disconnect issue, there is still the POV Hat switch issue where I see absolutely not reason why a DCS product should not offer Camera Speed settings and Camera smoothness. At the moment, really jerky, and this is not the fault of the controller, others with other products are having the same problem. MAC
  10. MacBookPro Mid 2011, BootCamp 4.0, Windows 64 Pro, DCS World, P-51D, Network via Time Capsule Performance okay, with most everything in low settings. However haven't worked out how to host games in MP, although opened all 10308 ports with Airport Utility, both under Mac OSX 10.8 and under Windows. Could not establish if this is a TC problem or really what the problem is. Good luck. MAC
  11. Thanks for your reply. Not using Bluetooth with this, so we can disregard it. The controller's driver is a third party one, which is working without problems in other software. The USB drivers are included in the Bootcamp package which come from Apple and are at the latest version. It would be interesting to know if the same issue exists on native PCs. MAC
  12. Hi, I'm not using the PS3 Sixaxis wirelessly, but connected via USB cable. The motioninjoy driver provides both options, bluetooth wirelessly (however requires a USB Bluetooth dongle) and USB. As previously stated, it's working perfectly in other games. MAC
  13. Hi Sarge, Thanks for your suggestion. Did as you said but problems are still there. Not having any doubled up settings now, except that maybe mouseview camera has similar (but not same) functionality as absolute camera views. MAC
  14. That's interesting. When you say, not many problems with it, do you mean the same that I'm having, or different ones? Can you please explain? Btw, I don't have a 360 controller. MAC
  15. Have opened all ports 10308 on my TC but my server doesn't show up in Master list. Anyone got this working? MacBook Pro Mid 2011, BootCamp 4.0, Windows 7 64bit Professional. MAC

  17. Devs, I want to use the Sony Sixaxis Controller with DCS World and DCS P-51D. This controller is working very well with other games on the PC, for example Wings of Prey where it gives excellent control and viewing. (Community, bear with me please. I fully understand that DCS is a serious simulation and that there are many more sophisticated solutions. However, first of all DCS also has a game mode. If DCS has that it obviously, at least to a degree, wants to also serve casual gamers. Many people get interested in Flight simulation coming from simpler games/simulations. When they do, they (rightly so) expect that their equipment will work, at least for a start. Secondly, I'm travelling a lot and this 'gamepad' is a very convenient, light and small solution to enjoy my hobby, even when on the road and in a hotel room. So long story short - if this piece of equipment is working with other software, I see no reason why it should not work with DCS). The driver I'm using is a free one from this website: http://www.motioninjoy.com (again, works very well and without glitches in other games). While I'm able to map functions and axis to the controller the way I want (left stick Ailerons/Elevator, Right Stick Absolute Camera Horizontal/Vertical View, Lower L/R analog triggers Rudder, I'm having the following problems: - Controller momentarily 'loses' connection with game and produces false inputs; this is accompanied by a sound and a white flashing of the screen; Camera ends up full up and back, aileron and rudder with full left deflection. Needless to say, more often than not this is leading to very bad results in flight and even on ground. - Absolute camera viewing is very very jerky and jumpy. Makes it nearly impossible to 'stay with' a target at viewing angels. Impossible to hold still. It should be possible to smoothen and slow down camera movement so it becomes at least as good as Mouse camera (which is working well, but impractical to use). Reading in the forum, this problem is shared with the users of POV hat switches. Please look into this and have it fixed. MAC
  18. Hi, I'm using the right stick of a PS3 controller (analog) for my camera from cockpit view (absolute horizontal/vertical). Results are very jerky however. Not the fault of the controller which gives very smooth views in other games. No options available in the the GUI, any way to edit the lua files for better results? MAC
  19. Yes, I've set 10308, all ports open for this on my Time Capsule, yet no success with hosting a game. Anyone with a Time Capsule who can host okay? Or with a Mac running Windows 7 under Bootcamp? MAC
  20. Still no luck. Opened all the ports on my Time Capsule Router to allow Public/Private 10308 but my mission is still not seen. I also turned off Windows Firewall. Any other suggestions? MAC
  21. I'm rather new here, so forgive if this may be obvious to some of you. I've tried to look for answers around here, but apart from the impression that there are some general problems with MP at the moment, I couldn't find an answer to my issue. I've downloaded a MP mission from digitialcombatsimulator.com and put in my files. Now, when I want to host this mission I loads correctly, but a friend of mine cannot see it in the master server list, so cannot join. Anyone with a probable explanation, better even with a fix? Thanks in advance! MAC
  22. Had the same problem and agree with this suggestion. It may also be more user friendly to have a 'Check for Updates Now' button included in the DCS World Start screen or Options screen. MAC
  23. You need to order the hot air truck! MAC
  24. This is great news. I'll support it. Played the original on my first homecomputer (as they were called then), an Acorn Electron. Memory was limited so it didn't feature Thargoids (I believe to remember), but I was venturing through all corners of the universe(s) for weeks and weeks...this is a dream come true. MAC
