  1. Yep, I agree. I really look forward to both of these mods. They would totally fit a few of my missions that I have built in the past. btw Ranger79, these were the mods I was talking about earlier...which you probably already figured out. ~ LA
  2. Thanks guys! Good stuff!
  3. Thanks for posting Cowboy10uk!! Awesome pics! ~ LA
  4. I agree that the Auto Trans makes it easier to drive the vehicle, but I did like the manual trans when trying to maintain a constant slow speed, especially when traveling downhill. I was able to kick it in a low gear and maintain my speed, now I am mashing on the brakes. ;-) Either way, very much enjoying Combined Arms! ~ LA
  5. Right from the Combined Arms manual, here is what it says... I was curious too after seeing your post. From the Special tab, you have additional options from the embedded CA tab. These include: Compute Firing Solution. When a target is locked, this dashed circle icon indicate proper lead to hit the target. Place the aiming symbology over this icon to increase your chances of a hit. This is true when engaging both ground and air units with guns/cannon. Platform Shake. As the vehicle rolls over uneven ground, the view will shake and move accordingly. When not selected, aiming weapons is much easier when the vehicle is moving. Having this turned off best represents weapon stabilization on modern tanks and IFVs. Target Info. When a target is locked, its identity and range is displayed in the lower left corner of the ground unit HUD. Fixed Unit Body. When enabled, the circular compass rotates to indicate heading facing of the hull. Fixed Unit Turret. When enabled, the circular compass rotates to indicate heading facing of the selected turret. Fixed Compass Scale. Compass indicator will remained fixed with north at top, but hull and turret indications will rotate according to hull heading and turret alignment according to hull. Hope that helps! ~ LA
  6. Nothing like a nice easy fix. Setting formation worked, the convoy follows me now. Thanks!! :) ~ LA
  7. Thanks Wags! Appreciate the help. I will go test and see what happens. ~ LA
  8. I apologize if this has been posted before, I thought I saw it once but I am unable to find the answer now... I am trying to figure out how to control convoys when you are in first person mode. I drive away using the front vehicle yet the rest of the convoy sits still. What am I doing wrong? I thought this was possible in 1st person? :helpsmilie: Thank you, ~ LA
  9. MadTommy, One of my squad-mates posted this in our forums... Pretty handy I thought. and I found this in the DCS Forums: Hope this helps a bit! ~ LA
  10. Here is my DCSW settings. System specs in the sig.
  11. Hello, I just finished installing DCS World 1.2.1 and when I launched it, the auto updater kicked in. Looking at the logs I noticed my version of DCS World went from Current version: 1.2.1.5970.2711100000.002 to Latest version: 1.2.1.5970.2715200012.982. An every so slight change in versions but I can not find what exactly was updated. EDIT: I just finished installing the A10, BS2 and CA modules and I received another auto update: Went from Current version: 1.2.1.5970.2715200012.982 to Current version: 1.2.1.6055.2737600000.001 Would anyone know what the auto updater was patching? Any details? Thank you, ~ LA
  12. Go to the link below, I linked the page where PeterP talks about his solution and I believe has a sample file to download that I am using. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=71639&page=10 Otherwise start from page 1 and read through the threads for more information but PeterP refers to DCS World. This modification does help increase max visibility without losing too many frames. Hope this helps! ~ LA
  13. I am a long time simmer but don't post very much. I guess you could say I just troll the forums for information, news and guidance. However, I just wanted to chime in about FC3 from my perspective and of course this is only my opinion and does not reflect anyone else. I fly with an online squadron, we are a small group but have very big imaginations. In the past we flew Lock On, FC and FC2 and enjoyed all the nuisances the sim brought forth. We have our own mission editors so the sky was the limit for what we flew each week. After a while we moved into Black Shark and ultimately A10C, which we have been flying now for over a year. Though we love the Warthog, we are thrilled with the release of DSC World. Why? Because we now have the ability to fly the SU25T, and now we have a true SEAD role. Our pilots love this plane from the days of FC2 to now. We are enjoying the diverse roles that are now presented...BS, A10C and the SU25T. Now with FC3, we will be able to have a full diversity of roles available. SEAD, STRIKE, CAP ... etc... Are all the planes high detail like the A10C? No, but I already knew and understood that from the beginning. I love that they updated the F15 and some of the flight characteristics but more importantly I love that our squadron will now have other choices. Though I enjoyed all the training our squad has put into flying the BS and the A10C, I kind of like the fact that the new planes will be more simplified. This allows us to jump in and quickly learn the controls and start flying our missions. So, the FUN factor is very high right now. I understand there are bugs with this and bugs with that, our squad has seen them especially in MP but we have found ways around them. ED is well aware of the issues from what I have read and I have full faith in them to fix the issues and get the sim working as best as possible. In the mean time, we work around the issues and still have FUN. (Notice the keyword? FUN?) Our squadron loves the sims and all that ED has done. There is simply know one else out there that has delivered the quality that the have brought us. We also thank ED for opening up the doors to 3rd party developers. This is going to elevate this sim to new heights and if you use your imagination, the sky is the limit. (BTW, drooling over the new Mig 21 coming soon). So with that said, I just wanted to give ED and everyone that is associated with them a BIG THANK YOU!! I also want to give a BIG THANK YOU to all in the forums that bring true value and information to the sims. When we all come together and work together, great things happen. Thank you, ~ LA
  14. Thank you Kuky and PeterP!! This has been great stuff. Thank you all for your hard work! ~ LA
  15. Thank you for this post. I was always curious how to perform this task with an AI helicopter in the mission editor. I tested this in DCS World 1.2 and it worked very well. ~ LA
  16. Are you talking about the Radio Patch created by Speed? -Adds UTM grid zone to JTAC comms http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=86787 ~ LA
  17. This is great Speed!! Thank you for this mod as it will fit perfectly with one of my upcoming MP missions I created. To be able to identify quickly what zone JTAC is calling targets from is fantastic. Just downloaded it and will be testing now! Thanks again! ~ LA
  18. I have been searching the forums, but haven't seen too much about BS2 and Servman. Has anyone used ServMan 2.5 for Black Shark 2 yet with success? Thanks again! ~ LA
  19. ServMan for BS2? Hello, I see ServMan 3 is out and it states it is only for DCS A10C, and I see there is an older version of ServMan for the original Black Shark. I was curious if you are able to use ServMan for Black Shark 2? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, ~ LA
