Hi all, sorry I did use the search but to no avail. I use the latest driver for my trackir 5 and have it setup in my trackir section (pause, center, precision) but it does not work in the sim, can someone explain to me how to get it working in the sim, thank you.

Ok seems latest drivers for the X52pro do not work and dont allow the saitek section to show up under the "axis commands" section, switched to my old X52 and drivers and all is fine, go figure, thanks saitek!!
-
How come my saitek X52pro section in the options/control area does not allow me to assign any functions in the "axis commands" area? only my CH pedals are able to be assigned there? any ideas. There is no ability to assign any axis commands under the saitek column.

Even when I use no profile at all and try to set up a button in the control panel I get nothing, yet, I do have a collum for my saitek x52pro, strange. My joystick is working and shows all the buttons working in the control panel of my windows 7.
-
I believe that may be the case, how do I change that?

I cannot get the sim to recognize any of my joystick inputs, if I click in the saitex x52pro slot across from any command ex: trim, lock etc etc...I cannot get the controller to be recognized, nothing at all happens. I have read through the faq's and here but cant find any help. I just got the sim today and I can't setup my joystick, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Great thanks guys, well I would like to see tracks of simply missions/campaign without all the music and from inside the cockpit, just pure "real life" like flying and using the instruments. Thanks guys. I think there should be a real "Track" page with just this exact type of tracks in it so people can learn alot by watching others fly. I know there is this "video, track" page but very very few in the sense of real tracks of missions, just my 2 cents, thanks all and send me those tracks.

I guess not.

I was curious if we can keep our joystick/key command profile setup the same for FC 2.0 or will we need to make changes to our profiles or keyboard commands? thanks.

Does anyone have a few UNedited mission/campaign videos so I can watch like this one? I really like to see the unedited and in cockpit videos, thanks all.

How is this pilot dodging missiles?
ScEBlack1 replied to scottysonfire's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Scotty a good way to learn at first is to use labels and watch the distance in miles when the bandit fires from and jink back and forth and putting bandit/missle on gimbal and learn how soon/long the missile takes to reach you. This can help for memory but it is best to fly without labels to learn evasion/notching etc. When you do/if you decide to fly online it will help alot. The thing about air to air is alot of understanding the envelope of radars/missiles and situational aspects. Just keep practicing and reading up on techniques and you will eventually get the hang of it and then the fun starts. Take care. Go to flankertraining.com for videos and tips. -
When you have performed the notch and the bandit is on your 3 or 9 position and you have dropped below his altitude and decreased your speed a bit and seen him disappear from your RWR , how long should you perform the notch before pushing back into him and firing, this is before he has fired on you. Say you have performed the Notch 20 miles out and after closing head on, what would be the next best move, considering of course there are no other bandits around and situational awareness is on the 1 bandit. How long roughly does he not pick you up on his RWR while performing the notch?, im interested in all ideas on this and i feel it is good for others to learn more about this, thanks.

Hello guys, is there a possibility that this Mod will be available for single player, I understand it wont affect A.I. but it would still be beneficial to those of us who enjoy "more realistic" gameplay, thanks for creating this mod to begin with, it is great for the lockon community.

What is the optimal way to use the R-27ER?
ScEBlack1 replied to cobrabase's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
This is my opinion only but in the F-15 which is my ride it is a bit difficult (for me that is) to notch well because she is best up high and not down low were the migs usually are, so when you start up high then wish to notch a bandit and drop below his alt to perform the notch you become dangerously low for the Eagle and sometimes get picked up by the EOS flyers in the valleys, any tips on performing the notch in the Eagle is appreciated, i do understand situational awareness is a key but im looking for more tips from good Eagle flyers, thanks. -

Well to be real honest i dont know, im only a simmer and not a real life fighter pilot, but, as far as what i have read on the subject of air to air bvr combat, yes, this does work and is used by pilots. There are many parts to the whole so depending on the situation different tactics are needed. Air density, 2 ship, 3 ship fights, weather, ground clutter or over water, awacs or not all have a part to play in the set up of a real life fight. There are lots of posts about the "Notch" on here, best bet is to use the search function and you can read all about it and how to perform it, basicaly it is putting the enemy on your 3 or 9 position, dropping some altitude and breaking his radar lock so you are not visible for a time on his radar, this way you can manuever to set up a kill by different means, ex: change altitude, press in closer, obtain pure pursuit etc, etc. The basic BVR engagement phases are this: Detect, Sort, Target, Intercept, Engagae, Seperate. Hope this helps, there are many on here who are more expierienced than me and im sure they will chime in. -
Hello all i was wondering what are some good monitors over 30 inches that you use for lockon and have a great resolution (high). I take it that these most likely would be widescreen? how do you set up Lockon for widescreen. I have now a 22inch samsung but was thinking about a bigger monitor for the game, any ideas, preferences that you all have, maybe a screenshot to boot would be great. Thanks all.

Yes, but at the same time it gives your opponent the ability to notch and break your lock or hit the deck, spend a few chaffs and your missile is now useless. Try firing one at high altitude, notch while decreasing altitude then fire another soon after while dropping altitude. Keep bandit on the defensive with the ER while you press forward with your ET. -
Thanks Ironhand for your help, i think to make things clean and easy i will simply leave it alone, i like a few so i will use those for now and save the hassle, appreciate your help.
