Not seeing all the servers in the master server list.
bn880 replied to Jinef's topic in Multiplayer Issues
It should be mentioned that Jinef usually sees only 45% of the servers that others see at any one time, it's THAT problem. Hope 1.2.3 really does fix this. (used to work several weeks ago) -
Remember that when you go to the loadout menu via Ground Crew radio, the "Default" loadout is exactly that, your last loadout used in the mission. Still, your suggestion for the loadout menu itself is a decent idea IMO.

http://www.175wg.ang.af.mil/photos/mediagallery.asp?galleryID=6045&page=2 Not much tougher than many unpaved surfaces... Harder than grass? http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/9927/su25fieldofmudpf5.jpg

I think that would be a welcome compromise, a "Recover Mired Aircraft" option which takes X amount of time by the ground crew. The thing is though, I'm pretty sure you don't get mired every time an Su25 or A10 rolls over a patch of dirt or grass, it depends on hardness, and inputs. Relatively speaking (contact area, weight distribution) Aircraft require less soil trafficability than land wheeled vehicles because they do not put power through the wheels. Maintaining power and a straight line you might be able to get through most regular unpaved conditions. Who knows for sure? We'd need feedback from someone who used to fly an Su or A10. (or worked on the ground crew)

ATC emergency declaration is quite important, agreed the rest is foam on the cake, but also cool
-
As usual I agree with your post, and also for the engine startup issue: If it is a safety issue just on the Su25, that's fine, whatever. But at least if the radio responses could clarify WHY they can't rearm or refuel you based on Aircraft, that would make more sense. The ground crew in general are like a bunch of passive agressive bastards. You just never know if they'll actually repair you, or give you the weapons you selected etc. :) Edit: Ground crew needs to communicate and provide more clear feedback.

Yes it can be quite a bummer. At least the grass near taxi ways (airfield areas) should be forgiving as they are usually fairly flat. Also, it would be nice to get some better signage on taxiways, like runway headings instead of just A / B / C

AMD Catalyst 13.1 WHQL available soon
bn880 replied to Mustang's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I bet it still wont solve the Enduro 7970m underutilization issue, especially prevelant in DCS. FYI I switched form AMD 7970m to NVIDIA 680m recently for this reason, and got a 70% better FPS after minor tweaks/oc. 50% improvement on stock/without tweaks. -
Ahh so that's what it is, I was wondering after the 5th training mission gave up on me :D Thanks.
-
I noticed this as well on some of the training. I was going through Takeoff and Navigation and it cut off, mostly like it's waiting for different flightpath of the AC but never gets it. (but i tried lining up properly and going to the altitudes, and it worked for the first few WP's)

Look up at the ceiling of the Ka50, there is a round dial with one arrow that since DCS World 1.2 (or there abouts) works and shows you the outside temp. Edit: yes you see it, so in the newest DCS World this gauge works and is not always at 20c.

Eagle E-Shop EULA legal in the EU? User can not re-sell modules.

 Didn't hear of that one until now. Happy New Year by the way! -

There, I even fixed the thread title so that future customers don't need to spend time reading through this or be terribly worried. Fiar's fair. ;) -

bn880 replied to bn880's topic in Payment and Activation
Still think the EULA point 9 could be clarified so that the explanations don't need to be made in a thread on a forum. As to what I said, that the license can be RE-SOLD and transferred to a 3rd party recipient . In any case, I think I almost got my answer when I made my second post and then it was confirmed by you. ED is not nasty with their licenses as I was originally worried. ;) Some of the other companies' EULA's you mentioned might be, and users/customers might be wise to challenge them if they live in the EU. Anyway, I'm happy I got my answer and will buy the A10 module, just would suggest a small bit of clarification in EULA. :pilotfly: -

I would expect point 9 to be clarified, and moved up to be right after the license limitations. Unless you read the entire EULA end to end you might not pick up on it, so it's not very clear, it sounds like you cant resell at all. Unless you get written permission otherwise. Why are these separate sections anyway. (and who is the recipient in point 9, and is there a limitation of sale of license? only transfer is mentioned) It's hillarious because the section stating the things you can NOT do with the product is very well written out, and seems locked down. But when it comes to Ed writing what can be done with the license it's a barely legal (not even legal due to questions above) sentence. But you shouldn't be confused, I made two posts. Not one. :) -

Oh yeah, thanks for being condescending as well. :) -

I know you don't get IP of the software, I'm also in the industry BTW. The question is if the (remaining) license can be resold and transferred. Answer is yes, OK, sounds good. The EULA is not very clear on it and perhaps you should clarify some terms there for point 9. As for support to the third party, well I could be responsible for making sure the license isn't defective sure; but not much more, it depends what the terms of the sale are. Most used things are resold "as-is", a very important little term for legal proceedings. -

As long as the license can be resold/transferred somehow it's reasonable. It's hard to tell though from the EULA, would be nice to get some clarification from an ED rep. -

bn880 replied to bn880's topic in Payment and Activation
Actually reading further down the EULA also has this Does this mean that the "license" can be transferred to another person (not sure who the recipient is and if we are allowed to charge for the transfer)? Which is basically allowing us to re-sell the module(s)? -
I was about to purchase DCS A10, but read through the EULA, and the first sections seem to completely contradict what is legal in the EU: So while it's nice to say that it's a limited use license in the EULA, I don't think this is legal. You can not differentiate between the store purchased and online downloaded copy of the same software is the law in the EU at least. You may not offer any warranty support to a 3rd party, but that's as far as your legal powers reach as far as I am aware. Reference EU ruling: http://curia.europa.eu/jcms/upload/docs/application/pdf/2012-07/cp120094en.pdf The second part of my question is: Why would you be so nasty as to even try to prevent people from reselling your games if they paid real money for them?

Old thread, but I was just trying to do the same and it helped me save some time. Answer is modify \DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit\Scripts\ControlsIndicator\ControlsIndicator_page.lua line which contains definition of base.init_posYou can change the XY position there, for example this puts it somewhere in the middle and very bottom of the screen: (good if you want to place other panel on left bottom where it used to clash) base.init_pos = {(1 + size),-(1 - size)}

If your laptop is one of those that has to run with Enduro, your problem is larger due to AMD drivers and Enduro. Get Catalyst 12.11 Beta 11 (and keep updating as they come out) Otherwise, also the AMD driver will help, but DCS in general seems to run like crap especially on AMD cards.
-
Yep we noticed this as well, not all servers are listed even now. Not much we can do untill the patch comes out. Tunngle works every time though if you know everyone you fly with.
