  1. NEW SHOTS...I'M ALMOST THERE JUST A FEW MORE WEEKS AND I'M DONE!
  2. PeterP you are a rare breed mate!!!! outstanding.!
  3. It doesnt work for me anyways...I turned back to standalone a-10. too bad I cant take advantage of all the updates 1.2.0 provides.
  4. Respect mate you definitely not a rookie...very clean and professional job!!!
  5. hey PeterP I was wondering whether you managed to enable HUD export in 1.2.0 world version of A-10 ?
  6. Actually I did not get it online. I went to the local glazier and asked for reflective windows...he happened to work with some so he had leftovers but you can order what ever size you want. reflective windows mate.
  7. I guess it can work but I would'nt travel too far mate...just grab a piece of reflective-glass and call it a day. 100% working concept and cheap.
  8. wow thats cool!... @METALNWOOD I used the same semi transparent reflective glass for the bottom "mirroring". the only difference is that i had a vinyl black decal applied on the back non reflective side.
  9. what double image effect do you mean? like described above? how distant is your hud from game screen/projection?
  10. the cost of the entire thing did not exceed 1000$ :megalol: my father is an electrical engineer so i pretty much enhaled soldering fumes for decades mate. my old man was soldering so much that he could solder with his iron cold heheheheh
  11. I want to calm you down mate. the HUD was the cheapest in my build. 2 x reflective glass = 15$ 1 x 19'' lg lcd monitor from recycle shop = 50$ what do you say about that? thats right ...not a big deal :D
  12. PeterP I used my slow laptop just to try your measurements and I got the same slight shift. the only time its accurate is when i close one eye. when both eyes concentrate on the hud it looks like this : the distance from the HUD to the projector is all that matters. it makes our eyes converge on different points each time. pilots never face this problem in real life cause they never face targets 1.5 meter from the HUD display. my current distance from hud to projection is 1.5 m and from eyes to projection is about 2.5 m. what do think? p.s the physical HUD is the same size as in game (around 95% to be precise )...PeterP dont get me wrong you advise is absolutely correct but only to make the HUD same size as in game HUD. but still you cannot avoid the convergence and thats where the problem. Now everybody I just want to make clear that this setup is absolutely playable and precise. I just strive to perfection
  13. I used to have amd fx4100 cpu with gtx 580 8 gigs of ram and i never experienced crashes. i have 4 screens and 11 usb inputs. I updated the system anyways to i7 3770k and gtx680. i guess it will run stable as it did with the old cpu. you have a good system your self it shouldn't crash. I think you have something setup wrong...have you overclicked the system or played with memory timings?
  14. oh ok we gotta multiplay sometime ...i'm in the middle of the flight manual and definitely could use some tips...
  15. thanx a lot mate i appreciate it !
  16. I had the HUD exported the traditional way. I just defined it as a COMMON and assigned co-ordinates in mon. set. lua ....by the way why did you end up assigning ~620 by ~620 for hud size?
  17. Yeah i totally dig you mate you are absolutely right but i think that there is another thing that must be taken into consideration. our human eyes converge on the hud making double vision of projection in the back. i think that this is the problem . what do you think? u were right about the distance thing it actually may remedy the issue but it will never entirely go away. have you ever seen a real hud and the way it locks on things? p.s. I have locked the FOV it was a must you are right...
  18. Actually I am using the same approach. I had it exported in a similar fashion and enlarged the hud box as you but there is still something that is bothering me. I calibrated the size of the hud to match the IN COCKPIT hud size and everything was perfect , but then I sold my graphics card so basically now i'm grounded...anyways what is bothering me is the way the physical external hud i use actually correlates with the game projection. I played it for a while but i was never satisfied with the precision of tracked targets and gun strafing...it was 95% accurate. I must bring it to perfection when my gtx 680 arrives. P.S. i did not use the code after line 7 as you posted ... what was the reason you decided to embed it there?
  19. your panels are perfect!
  20. Better shots...
  21. I was banging my head for a while trying to focus the image ! took me couple o tries to realize that the mirror is an enemy. even 1 mm thick mirror that i found generated blurry image. The HUD is the part of my pit i like the most. I promise to film it in a while i bet you all gonna love it. I will post the calibration process later. ( G effects turned off definitely add to the calibration if you want it rock steady...more about that later i am late for work :megalol: )
  22. I am not really sure it is realistic enough but it comes pretty close...the width is 108 cm , height ~80 cm , length ~ 215 cm.
  23. I guess it is inevitable....so shall be written so shall be ...bought
  24. Oh PeterP oh PeterP my dear friend! Just when I thought that I can finally rest in peace, you throw the 360* pit "bomb" at me ...not mentioning the force feedback stick link you sent me.... the 360* pit is definitely my dream!!!!!!!
  25. icemaker about the glass...I got it from the local "Glazier"...thats how u call a guy that custom builds windows?...just look for a reflective window or semi reflective window at the local shop. it must have one reflective side which reflects from the surface itself in contrary of a mirror which makes the reflection travel through the entire mirror thickness (for example 2mm thick or 5mm thick mirror )
