First when I opened the official ED Su-25T template my heart allmost stopped - 12 TEXTURES??? So, I got Photoshop 9 CS2 since I was unable to edit the textures with my Paint Shop Pro X. Then another dissapointment: I cannot save the damn textures in BMP! I'm relatively new to Photoshop so I thought some of you guys that have made some Hunchback skins to help me out on this one. And one other thing: is there any other format except .psd that accepts layers to be saved? Because I cannot open the .psd files with PSP X and PS doesn't offer .pspimage saving format. Cheers!

Arent F15C supposed to be identical?
Black_Hawk replied to Duxa's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Hm, they look like swept down a bit. But look in the game - engage burners and they will fully extend (0-3000m, dunno about higher altitudes, haven't tried it). -

Dunno about the high AOA but as you increase thrust they fully "open" (when you engage the afterburners). -

MiG-29 Stick and throttle layout

Forgive my ignorance, but what is it? Do I have to pay for it to buy or is it free? I just want to know what switch does what, that's all. -
MiG-29 Stick and throttle layout

Yea, it's just what I'm looking for, but something in english maybe, can't read this ;) -
Any of you guys have a pic or a diagram of the switches and all the buttons found on the stick and throttle in a real MiG-29 (it'd be very good if it says what does what ;))? Doesn't matter if it is the old one with the stick in the middle or the newer HOTAS version. Cheers!

Nice work! I like the paint chips :)

I had problems with tracks after editing them (I didn't save them), but that was when I was on 1.02 and it was long ago and I "mastered" editing tracks back then. Yes, I am making a movie and I'm using fraps and Vegas 6 for editing.

I have a problem with track playback: When I make a track (with different camera views and moving camera around) and I save it and want to see it the costum camera positions are not saved, only 1 position with no changes at all. I have LO 1.12a and I think that it started to happen after disabling camera terrain restriction and enabling mouse view. I reverted to the defaults but with no luck, it just seems that after I do it everything gets messed up. I have a folder called LO 1.12a Backup where I keep a non tweaked version of the game and when I make tracks there no problems at all. Is there anyone else with the same problem and if so, did they manage to fix it? Sorry to ask it again if there was a similar thread before, but I didn't get any satisfying results from Search.

Yeah, but it does warn you of missile launches. Or am I missing something here?
-
So, you fly in Russian a/c. American fellas mostly have ARH (Active radar homing) missiles that emitt radar signals and thus can be detected by your MLWS, but not at all aspects. Make a mission. You and an F-15 coming head on from about 50km distance. Start the mission and you will hear a radar lock tone. Now start climbing (so the F-15 is below your belly) and you won't hear the lock tone anymore. Now roll so your belly faces upwards. You will hear the lock tone again. Now when he fires a missile (that is not heat seaking since they don't emmit any signals and thus can't be detected) and do the same (climb - no lock tone, roll - lock tone). As you can see, it depends on your aspect toward the missile/bandit. Cheers!

Oh, sorry... 50 pixels is not a big difference :music_whistling: I'll be more careful next time :D

I couldn't wait cause I had an idea for my sig so I made something similar: A gradient, pretty much the same result after some playing with the settings. But if I use your advice there will be no crossfading between colours. Thanks! Applied it to my newest sig :smartass:
-
Just a question for you AerialHawk: In the first sig you made (for eKim) how did you make those horizontal lines on the edges (the shaded part of the signature)? Did you use some of the Photoshop effects or did you draw them by hand? I use PaintShop Pro X

OK, thanks!

Sounds cool! Could you please tell me the filenames of the backgrounds of these displays so I don't have to search for them ;) I have something in mind but I don't know wether it will or won't look good.

'Cmon guys, sure somebody knows the solution, if there is any?
-
I could sware that I read the opposite somewhere. But when you put it that way it makes more sense ;)

IIRC the formation strips are only active when you are in the NAV modes (key 1) and when you are in any other mode (bombing, BVR, A2A combat generally, keys 2-6) they are turned off.

Is there a way to change the 'trigger' for fuel quantity warnings? For instance, in MiG-29 you can carry droptanks. When you drain all the fuel from them you can release them (and before that if you want to ;)) to improve your flight characteristics. So if you drain your drop tank (if you had cca 4700l of fuel with tank and when it is drained you end up with something like 3500l) can the computer tell you "Fuel this and that" (you can always edit the .ogg ;)) so you know that the tank is empty? So you don't have to check your fuel quantity to see if your tanks are full or empty?

In ModMan 5 you can choose wether you want or don't want the skin you are installing to occupy the place of the previous texture in CDDS; in other words you are replacing a part of the CDDS file. If you don't install it in CDDS then it will be placed in root/Bazar/Temp textures folder as a .bmp , in 1.12 (and probably 1.1, I don't know, i went straight to 1.12a) you uncheck the CDDS checkbox 'cause if you install the texure in CDDS it leads to some loss in FPS. I like your idea of knocking out some textures from the CDDS, but then you would have to rename the texture, OR, even better, as Bossi-Maserati was playing around with meinit.xml you could for instance just replace some A-10 texture with the texture of the plane you want and tell the game to use the "A-10" texture for your plane (say Su-30)! Can this be done? And is there a utility that can "explore" the CDDS file???
-
IIRC in that mod that adds 2 US skins to the Hunchback there are some instructions how to add this slots and corresponding textures to them. But I think that the only way of making this skins appear on the 3D model is to add them to CDDS and since CDDS file size is fixed you cannod add or remove anything from it :( But if someone knew a way to add new CDDS files to the game then it would probably easy to make one and fill it out with the textures you want. So, anyone know of some utility that creates CDDS files???
-
Is there a way to add new skin slots to the game? Like it was done with the fictional USAF skin for the Hunchback? Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I haven't come up with anything useful using the Search option

Are there any Devs here who colud clear this up for me? Is it possible to edit the color of those displays or is it deep inside the game code so n00bz like me can't really mess with it?
