  1. Some are tungsten, some are DU.
  2. Spot on.
  3. Didn't know that Kermit works for LM :D A percent a day keeps the Lightning away :D
  4. and what about outside Kosovo :noexpression: I don't even use them in LO
  5. so was flying but I really don't get this plasma stealth. it semes to me that the thing would actually radiate like a beacon
  6. HB :)
  7. Need a haircut? :D
  8. It can trade its E for huge alpha. It doesn't have to, and doesn't do it unless it's needed. Others simply can't (go as far alpha).
  9. wow. you're right. didn't even notice they are two different videos :O
  10. Yeah, I was thinking about that. I'll do it when I find the time..
  11. Simpe. F-35 was flying in the sim long before first prototype. It's also common for cruise ship crews to start practising in the sim before the actual vessle is completed. These days, first thing you do when making something is to make a mathematical model. From that, you can make a simulator. In fact, even if you have something that is already flying, the first step you need to take in order to make a sim is to make a math model. So, it's not a problem... only it's not something you are going to see released comercialy ;)
  12. But you can hear when he swithes it on (the high pitch sound making thing :D) MiGs are fly-by-wire.... a steel wire :D
  13. Yeah :D And I think that the constant high pitch sound is the fan :D As you can see it was pretty hot that day :)
  14. I don't think they actually do patrols. They're just paid to hop in when there's a need to intercept a non-responsive airliner and such. And given the Slovenia's size, any such airplane would be well out of its airspace before the interceptors arive :D Nevertheless, it's an international obligation to have aircraft for controling your skies. And if you don't have your own - you need to rent. Doesn't matter if you need them or if you want them. So everyone is now finding solutions to bridge that gap before new planes can be bought. Serbia had those MiG-29s sitting around, so overhaul was cheapest solution. Croatia doesn't have any airplanes with airframes that can take another life extention, so renting might be a good short-term choice. It also has its downsides. You need to watch for the levels of your own maintenance capability. If it falls to low, you might have to build it from scratch once you decide to go back to ownership.
  15. And there's a deley before the actual braking begins.. just like in our Su-25 :D
  16. Yea, I even wrote to FS team with that idea, but no luck :D
  17. :(
  18. I was thinking about that too :) But note that sounds that pilot hears thru the helmet are much quieter.
  19. No problemo :) Don't know who u're asking about copying... I don't mind, it's not my video :D I actually saw it here somewhere I think..
  20. Yeah, I understand you are not criticizing, I'm just trying to explain the background of this flight. It's a practise for an airshow. And he's not even practising a planed program, just going over some maneuvers (he likes the tailslide, as you can see ;)).
  21. Take into consideration that this plane is flying on the limits of opperational lifetime.. and beyond. Their resources actually expired in '95 and major overhaul was needed. But as you know, the counry was under sanctions and no such thing was possible. So, high ranking air force officers extended their lifetime by simply signing a document, without ever touching the aircraft. Imagine going to a doctor when you're sick, and he just pronounces you healthy, without even looking at you. Not much use of that. So, mechanics and pilots adopted ways to squeese as much juice out of their machines as possible. Opperating combat systems on non-combat flights was actually forbiden, and so was unneeded use of afterburner etc.. You can see that big external generator, that is used for startup. I think batteries can also be used, but they are also preserved for emergencies.
  22. no.. This is from 1997 or 1998.. see #5 :( I should also add that this is on Batajnica airfield.
  23. Yup ok... it's just 3 :D
  24. There's a video with half a dozen cases showing Israel avoiding collateral damage. Too lazy to find it now :D
  25. It was his error for not using it, so his ass is on the line. If you were the designer and made the assumption that a feature is not needed, but that circumstances arise where the feature is needed. Then it's your ass. That is why it's called an assumtion. ;)
