DCS A-10C QUESTIONS Guys I can't help but notice a difference in the 10C's flight model since 1.2.9... Somehow the jet is more stable and requires less trim, it responds much quicker to input changes, and it allows for more excessive aerobatics/abuse. An example: up to 1.2.8 when doing a max power 30 degree dive gun run and pulling into a climb SEM with a default loadout of 2 mavs, 2 laus, and 4 bombs, the stall warning would start at 3G and at around 3.5G pull it would be out of control. In 1.2.9 I can sharply pull 5.5G in exactly the same setting without getting the chopped tone. 1.2.9 is also the first time in my life I heard the breathing and noticed the visual blackout effect. Either something seriously changed to a more forgiving flight model or I had some seriously messed up settings before 1.2.9.
-
Anybody else noticing the heavy breathing in the 10C when pulling 3G? I think that shouldn't be possible unless you have your comms open.. The shaking of the airframe when firing the gun seems cool tho.
-
Im not talking about roll ins and SEMs. Im talking about recovering from something like a 15 or 20 climb for instance after a steep take off..
-
Yeah I get that but when do you roll inverted to pull and when do you push? I imagine you don't roll inverted to pull out of a 5 degree climb, neither do you roll inverted to pull into a 5 degree dive... So, what is the limit? When do you roll and pull instead of push?
-
What is the neg G limit hogdrivers aim for? E.g. when recovering from a climb, when do they push to level flight and when do they roll to inverted flight to pull to level and roll back?

Note the difference between rejecting and stepping: Stepping: canceling the currently active missile and switching to the next one in line. Naturally, if you 'step' the last missile in line, it'll switch to the first one again and the sequence starts all over. Rejecting: canceling the currently active missile and switching to the next one in line. However this 'form' of canceling brands the missile unusable. So if you have rejected all missiles, you won't be able to use them anymore. To reset this status, re-enable the missile as SOI again. Luckily for you it's pretty simple: MAVs can only be stepped while AIMs can only be rejected.

DCS A-10C QUESTIONS MAV China aft short 1st time boresights, 2nd time steps. However only when you have multiple of the same mavericks loaded in the inventory. This is all in the game manual and easily Googlable...
-
The 10C dash 1 still describes them as such in the tables explaining the functions per SOI. I don't know the version/date off the top of my head but it includes the HMCS so it can't be very outdated I'd say.

The 'china hat' switch is called the Missile Reject/Uncage Switch IRL. Remember this and you'll know what to do. :) Also, the 'boat' switch is actually called the Polarity Switch.

I'm using this util for a while now and maybe others like it too. Run this .EXE alongside DCS and you can look around the pit by holding down mouse button 4 a.k.a. browser backward. Once you release mouse button 4, the mouse works as normal. The only thing you'll have to do ingame is to bind Rshift+Rctrl+Ralt+Vto Clickable mouse cockpit mode On/Off. I've picked this key bind assuming nobody uses this combo for anything else. While in 'mouse look mode' you can obviously use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. I've tried to do it like BMS does it by using the right mouse button instead of mouse button 4 but it keeps conflicting with the fact that the right mouse button is also used to toggle switches. And if you don't like opening multiple .EXEs manually each time, just make a batch file. Cockpit_Mouse_v1.1.zip

Is it possible to have the LAU-68 look like a LAU-131?

You're not getting smart are you? ;) Thanks for the tip! -
Is it possible to have the LAU-68 look like a LAU-131?
JayPee replied to JayPee's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
You're not missing the point. I know about the DSMS workaround for the MAVs, never thought of that trick for pods tho. Going to test it. I take it you've tried it? Btw, what does POD SET SINGLE / POD SET DOUBLE mean in the inventory? OK, tested and the workaround does its magic. The profile shows up twice when cycling with DMS though but at least it fires 7 out of one pod per burst instead of 4 out of the left pod and 3 out of the right pod. -
Well, is it? Additionally, can the LAU-68 be renamed to LAU-131 within the DSMS and other systems? Reason is I'd like to have two optically similar LAU-131s which the jet sees as two distinct weapons/pods while they both carry the same type of rockets. This way it should theoretically be possible to single ripple fire (7) a full pod while keeping the other untouched as per the real jet/pod. I've tried pointing the LAU-68 to the CLASS ID of the LAU-131 in the loadouts file, but then the game refuses to start, probably because it crashes upon seeing the same uniqe ID twice in the same file.

Game Options: "Cockpit Visual Recon Mode" = ...?
JayPee replied to Flagrum's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Does this also happen when you detect or even designate targets with any of your SOIs? -
You're probably hinting at ED's F-18C. In that case, I'd like an answer one my #1 and #2... @ Joey: You're talking about the Superbug yes. Somewhere on the board is still a topic in which someone connected to the Superbug's developers (I think he goes by the name of Silver_Dragon) was desperately trying to dodge my million dollar question after which he eventually had to confess the 18E's systems will be modeled around what ED would deem Standard Systems Modeling using their new fidelity naming convention.
-
I understand you now. Yes, items 3&4 are not matters of good or bad, they are solely a matter of my own personal preference of wanting the "latest & greatest" and not a thing "less". Let me put it this way: when I see a flash item on CNN of a Hornet E bombing a terrorist hideout, I want to simulate that setting, and if possible I'd rather not replace that E with a C. Again, this is absolutely not a norm or general demand, it's just my favourite flavour. I simply could've asked: will we be getting a modern fighter? But such a question is going to lead to such a huge amount of subjectivity on subjects as what is modern vs. what isn't etcetera that I'd rather use ED's own method of classification to somehow find out if they'll be modeling a full fidelity platform which can reasonably be called 'current'.
-
How is it weird? What is there not to understand about this question? I tried to be as precise as possible.
-
First of all let me thank Wags/ED for the creation of definitions and boundaries in this post on product terms as it makes discussing the subject a lot easier. Now, regardless of user polls, whishlists, etc. I'm hoping for an official answer on this question. It might be a long shot but I'm at least trying. Does ED currently have plans (dates and deadlines left aside for now) to model a platform: which will have a professional flight model; which will have advanced systems modeling; of which the modeled aircraft version/revision/suite/block will still be in active service at the time of the final product release (as in: not being phased out IRL during beta for example); and of which a more advanced and/or newer variant is not yet in active service at the time of the final product release. To prevent confusion, by item #4 I mean e.g. the AH-64A while the AH-64D is in service, the F-18C vs F-18E, the F-15C vs F-15E and so on. Let it be clear that I am not asking for deadlines and promises which are subject to change anyway, I'm merely asking if plans exist.

You know when it's time to take a break from DCS A10-C when..
JayPee replied to HAVOC131's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
When she tells you you're much nicer when she allows you a weekly dose of undisturbed simming... -
I know but I'd rather have the entire issue removed instead of workarounds to well.. work around.

When the mission is done loading and I enter the pit, the view automatically zooms out very slowly for about 2 seconds. Meanwhile I am not able to either pan or zoom the view, for that I have to wait till these 2 seconds are over. I find this pretty f.. annoying. Can I disable this useless zoom out action upon entering the pit?

DCS A-10C QUESTIONS To be honest it's a bit of a Holiwood mission. Don't beat yourself up if you get ganked in the stock SP missions. Try some MP or the user made SP missions. Specifically those that are loosely based on real life scenarios.

Pinky FWD also turns on formation light strips and the light on the spine just in front of the engine nacelles. Pretty useless during daytime.

I could swear 3 and 9 were not 1760s somewhere around 1.2.5 or earlier... Guess memory's failing on me.
-
Hah! I bet 9 out of 10 simmers here cannot control their a/c and will get lost with their HUD and MFDs off.:harhar:
