  1. Thanks! Out of curiosity, do you know in which files is it located? Speaking about the su-27, it has the ability to head tracking and slave to the missiles, can be setup also for other aircraft? Is it a setting in the plane object? Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

    New map

I think there are two types of mods, professional and amateur, each with their own levels of professional complete mess , etc. The ED decisions is the correct one for the professional group. The amateur mod has a different motivations - it is built as a learning process (as a way of building the abilities to get to the professional level) or part of a community activities. The community activities don't care to much about the quality of the texture accurately replicated terrain and such, they are looking at the playing and campaign on the map and flying and fighting in it. The IL2 SEOW effort is a good example, most maps had a very general resemblance to the photorealistic from Google earth. But they had the playability to have an amazing campaigns. The maps eventually got better and better and the modders got better and better to the point when then can become professional level. Personally, I want to make a map and have some crazy idea's for them for campaigns with combined arms and helicopters and attack aircraft - but without tutorial s or tools there is no chance of me knowing what skills and data sources I would need to learn or need to find someone for the team or to try learn them. I started looking into almost three years ago and started building the map with the old tools and got stuck not having the global mapper and 3ds max to continue. The level of professionalism needed currently makes it impossible for amateurs to join. Not all simulators are like this I will not go into examples. At this stage I would not be interested in going pro, just to make a nice community mod to fly with my squadron and campaign on... Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  3. Based on a new weapon type I've created a totally new type, which works perfectly appear with skin and fires. obviously the current cockpits can't display the new name. I was hoping it's dynamically loaded from a file somewhere... Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks! So far I've been able to make a new weapon that appears in the mission builder for the F-15C. It didn't crash the game but the missile appears as unkn in the MFCD. Any ideas? Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  5. Hi, I'm trying to make a plugin (not by modifing the planes/F-15C.lua) that adds an F-15C as a new entry but with new custom weapons. 1. I've managed to make a plugin with the weapon using declare_weapon(w) and declare_loadout(l) but the missile_data entries are not be updated. 2. will copying-paste the plane info from the planes/F-15C.lua work into add_aircraft?

    New map

while I understand the logic of this for a commercial project - doesn't this derail any community effort? I totally understand that when ED supplies an official 3rd party agreement it comes with all sort of things, that are very valuable, and I suspect is wreath it (to keep standards high all they would need to do is sell the 3rd party plugin...) I fear that this will close any options for map building community efforts to exist... out of such efforts a significant amount of official 3rd parties came to be.

    New map

Hi Thanks for the response, what if we just want to make an "old" map type? does this mean that all old mods of maps will not work in DCS 1.5 or even 1.2.16? Thanks

  9. Is there a tutorial on this subject?
  10. Does anybody know if the Sim works also with the dk1? , I've been with an AMD card and just bought a gtx970
  11. you can duplicate a missile by going into the scripts\database\db_weapons_data.lua
  12. Any news regarding support for amd cards?
  13. As a programmer I can tell you - listen to the ED testers and wait for the open beta. It will be best for all
  14. Yes, that is true, that wasn't my question, its about the movement the DK2 has to the cockpit panel.
  15. Hi All, Question : if the DK2 has positional tracking and the head moves forward thus getting closer to the panel (like "zooming" ) why is it hard to read the HUD? Can it be manually triggered to zoom in to see the planes or instruments?
  16. Hi All, I'm using a TIR v5 and Rift DK1 and can't get DCS to display anything on the rift (or screen) when the auto detect flag is on. I've updated the DLL and the firmware of the Rift to 0.18 anyone have got an idea?
  17. is there a tutorial out there to get the Rift working with DCS?
  18. If I have a rift and do the changes above will I get a pictures that can be displayed correctly?

  20. I also am very excited about the SDK, this opens a lot of nice opportunities. I remember Ilya mentioned in an update that he would love the community to work together on a project. The main issus would be 3D objects to create for the map. How's about creating a repository of 3D building and other objects for DCS WW2 1944 for all to use freely (giving credit of course). But now all we need is to wait for the SDK to arrive. Is Would rather wait a little more and receive a more polished tool.
  21. Hi luthier1, Can you please elaborate what SDKs/tools are in plan for kickstarter backers?
  22. I would go even further to say all non-backers on release of final product will get one "SU-25T" equivalent plane - maybe trainer
  23. This Video shows what's in store with EDGE
  24. Great news! Happy I bought the Rift DevKit (if need a beta tester hint hint :) Supporting this kind of hardware would also be great in the Rift.
