Since I'm using the slider setting the deadzone is moved to left side of the axis. I think your right about the overlapping but only for center deadzone option.
-
So I found a solution to the problem. I had to go into the LUA file for the controller and set the deadzone to -0.01. If anyone knows the reason why?
-
Sorry for the late replay. Yes every combination in the settings same results. I tried all my other controllers and it only spikes when I set a axis to the brakes. I just reformatted my pc and its the same issue.

Still having the same problem, Every device does the same spiking.

Yeah I have to agree. I fly a lot with both huey and Mi-8 and the amount of detail they put in the flight model is the reason I purchased high-end pedals. For example, when I raise the collective to take off with the huey sometimes I'm not giving enough pedal so before it takes off you will yaw with the skids still on the ground. As for the Gazelle in the same scenario you take off then instant yaw once take off like the ground is a weak magnet. That is just one issue I have, not to mention the ones you listed also. I was anticipating the gazelle so it kind of sucks that it became my least favorite of all the DCS helicopters.

Hello, just got my new Viper RX pedals. Because of this I dont see any use of having 2 sets of pedals so I am selling my BF-109 Cam. I've had them since January. They are in good condition and built like a tank. Check out the link below if you are interested. http://www.ebay.com/itm/162224686670?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 SOLD

Warthog Joystick Brake Mod
TAnker737 replied to TAnker737's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I actually just cut and edged out the plastic using a drill and exacto knife and then cemented it around the paddle to make sure it doesn't come loose. Everything else was just screwed off of the brake paddle. I also cemented the piece on the side of the joystick just for reinforcement. I circled in the picture the places where I cut and glued the piece. And it does only actuate the right brake. For the planes I'm using right now that is all I need. For a collective I think these pot are too low resolution. I still have the board on the side so I could still put the other pot but it seems unnecessary to me, at least for now. The main thing I wanted was to use it for the MI-8, L-39 and the MIG-21. I'm surprised how good it seems to be working. I'm pretty happy with it. -
Just wanted to show you guys. I've been playing a lot of Mi8 and MIG 21 and wanted to see if I could use my old, broken Saitek combat rudder for parts. I was always disappointed with the range of distance that these rudders had for the brake axis. To my surprise the pedals had a mechanism which was the perfect amount of distance for the paddle on the warthog stick. Also the paddle button still works and doesn't engage until after full brake.

Timewarp was design for if a game dropped frames for a few seconds. It was not meant to be active all throughout the whole session. Dipping to 20-30 frames is not for me. Wags new vr video shows a great demonstration of the developers embracing the new tech. I am hoping they are already at least conversing internally about the elephant in the room, which I'm convinced is single core operation. Once ai, large amount of objects, explosions, and traffic enter into the equation. the thread gets overwhelm and starts bottlenecking the the system drastically. Seeing that intel has basically slow down performance per core lately, I don't see this to be viable for future strategy. Especially with all the great features ED has in the works.

Returned my Vive, purchased it for only dcs. Was not happy with the "God Rays" caused by Fresnel Lenses and the resolution. Also dcs is not optimized at this point for a constant 90hz in vr, vive locks you at 45fps if you don't reach 90(yes your head movement is 90hz but the game is at 45). Some people are fine with that but I'm not. My fear was having it just sit there while I wait for an update. It would have just felt like I wasted money in the end. I know that vr is still in it's infancy and I can't wait when I can fly on dcs without any hiccups/visibility problems. It's clear what the future is for sims but till the compromises get a bit narrower I will have to wait. Here is a example of 90hz head movement vs game fps:

Thanks for the reply, I tried deleting the input profile and the problem still continues. Right after I posted about this issue I realized that I didn't check if other axis from my other devices would work, they don't. I used the slider axis from my warthog throttle and the Y axis on my joystick, same thing. All my other modules don't have this. May be a small issue but would like to get it resolved. If anyone has a suggestion it will be appreciated. Thanks :)

Erratic head moevent during entering translational lift
TAnker737 replied to kintaro's topic in Bugs and Problems
It seems to take effect when the Mi-8 starts transition from translational lift to a hover and vice versa. -
I've been having an issue with the brakes on the MI-8. I've attached a video since it is a bit hard to explain. This is the only module I am having this problem with also. When I put the brakes all the way back the brakes keep jumping up. So for example when I am taxing to the runway and try to brake just a tiny bit it will jump up instead and then go back to normal. It will keep doing this. As you can see in the video I tried to change some settings on the axis and even put a bigger deadzone but it just made it worse. I'm currently using Slaw Device 109 rudders which has a high resolution sensor. Could that be the reason possibly? I'm not really sure and was wondering if anyone else had similar problems.

Messing around with the mission editor.

Can't wait for next update. Thanks for the great news :)

Thank you!

Good find Thanks
-
Looks good can't wait to try it out.

Great video thanks GrmlZ

Can't wait! Thanks wags for the update. Is Timewarp a oculus only feature? right now using the DK2 I get lower frames then the 75 required and I've seen a lot of answers in the forum saying timewarp is not implemented and once it is it will fix it. I pre ordered the vive and have a 980ti hope everything runs great.

Hey Derek, usually when you launch DCS it will check for an up date. Also you can force an update with opening "Update DCS World" in the directory. Good to see you in the flight sim space :)
