Im trying to get my old x-keys going. It's laid out for the Viper. I got it all going but I have a problem with just one toggle. The Pitch Alt Hold side of AutoPilot. Is there some thing I am overlooking with it? I programmed Macroworks 3 the same as the other switches. Thanks Menessis

OK so for a recap. I had to go back and restore the original Default.lua. Then go into the Throttle - HOTAS Warthog.lua and then I started getting results. And yes I did see the missing comma. So Im wondering if I needed to restore the other or it was just coincidence that I got it going at that point. I also find that it's not synchronized with switch position in the pit even though I have that option turned on. More testing! Menessis

OK I just had a second look at this. I tried to edit the Throttle-HOTAS Wartgog.lua but the new entry did not show up in game. I then did a test and just added "test" to the description and that did not show up in game either. I had used the line from CrashO thread #326 but I don't see any mention as to what file they are editing there. Thanks Menessis

Hmmmm Noob question #1 Well right off the jump it's playing games with me. For some reason after creating a new entry in the default.lua it will only let me map it to the rudder pedals and not the throttle? I checked to make sure I wasn't in the pedals file. Any thoughts? Thanks Menessis

Quick question. Is it possible to edit the lua file while the DCS is running? Alt Tab in and out to see if things are going the way you want/think. Would save a lot of time loading the sim. Thanks Menessis

Before I jump in with both feet I’m wondering if anyone has put together a utility to stream line this process? Would help with not needing to learn all this code. A steep learning curve for sure. Thanks Menessis

Plugged in my old BMS switch box that is laid out like the ICP. Put in the new MacroWorks 3.1 and got it working! First problem is the Dobber switch. Setup shows the arrow keys work it. Easy enough right.....not so fast. Program it in and try it out. In the setup it shows that the game is seeing the key presses as desired. But in game nothing happens. Likewise on the num pad. LCntl + Num1, easy right? Well that one does turn on the T-ILS but the buttons don't move in the game. Now onto the toggle switches I have. Master Arm Switch. Key press down is assigned a key for "up" and then Key release is assigned the key that will turn the switch back to off or the middle position. Same thing for the "simulate" position. That works and the game shows the switch moving. But when I got to the Auto Pilot switches I am stumped once again. Using the same logic as above nothing happens. If I use the keyboard and press the key that I put in for ALT HOLD the switch flips up. I can move my toggle back to the center position and it moves in the game. Same problem for ATT HOLD. So the setup window shows the key press but the game doesn't use them? What the hell? Any thoughts? Thanks Menessis

Ah Ha!!!! Finally figured it out :) On one of the threads here some one had mentioned that even the TM Calibration tool v 1.07 didn't work for them for what ever reason they used some other tool. I couldn't find that tool but I reminded me that DIView has similar features. So in about 30 seconds I got it fixed. Just had to go to each axis, right click in the pane for the menu and select "calibration" and the "restore defaults". Go figure.

After moving the PC and doing the DCS update as well as a Win10 update I have run into this problem. All three axis do not work. It seems like the throttle axis are backwards (they are near the bottom and move to the bottom) and the "incr" axis only works in one direction, from 50% to 100% and back. Did the unplug, reboot even cleaned out the controller using USBDeview. Then I got brave and ran the Firmware Upgrade. No help. It shows up in the Device Manager, just doesn't work Any help as far as what to try next. Everyone says not to use the windows calibration tool. The only TM one I can find is 1.13 and doesn't seem to do anything. It opens and says hit the space bar....nothing. Menessis

OK so I got them to fire Tomahawk's....only to have the SA-11's shoot every one down. So I put another ship in close to the shore and used "fire at point"...works good. But the ship has to be right in close. I am wondering why using the flag to trigger it makes the difference in it working and not working? Like I said before...I tried the same way except with a triggered action. Menessis

I was thinking of tasking a few ships to attack a Sam site on the shore line. Have no idea how to get it to work. I tried different ships, tried triggers and way point actions and "engage group" vs. "fire at point". Nothing! LoL Need a tutorial I think. Menessis

It makes a difference if you "un pause" before going into the pit.

I still just want a link to a DL that I can put on a flash drive. Easy peasy!

That would work. But I'm trying to minimize the risk of damaging things by moving. One little zap of static is all it takes. The flash drive is the most straight forward risk free solution as far as I can see.

DL Updates Im wondering how many other People are in the same position that I am in. I have a slow metered Internet. I only get 15 gig a month! That is the ONLY IP available to me. So its a problem with Win10 and DCS updates! It seems reasonable to me that If DCS would allow me to DL the update files from a friends place with hi speed all I would need to do is put it on a flash drive and go home. Place those files in the correct directory and run the updater. I ran this by DCS and all they told me to do is to copy the entire updated install and then copy that into my pc. I don't think that is a vialble solution. 128 gig install would require an external SSD and some time to move all those files. And the fact that I don't know any one around with DCS. I did some more digging. This is something I found. ===================================================== How to install DCS without Internet on PC ? (or traffic issues on PC) Due to the rather large volume of the simulator there are often questions about copying of DCS World, which is already downloaded on another computer. "Frontal" way of copying might work, but sooner or later it will end up in a complete reinstall. How to properly and safely do this: 1. Copy the existing module to any temporary location (external Flash Drive), preserving the folder structure of simulator (for example, E:\DCSCopy\). 2. Create in the root directory of the DCS simulator the text file with the title: dcs_local_source.txt 3. The contents of the file is the path to a temporary directory, in this case (UTF-8!): E:\DCSCopy\ 4. Run DCS World web installer and follow the installation process. The Updater will read the dcs_local_source.txt file and find your existing files, compare the version numbers, download all the required and will install it correctly. 5. After installation of DCS World on second PC, you can delete the temporary directory. ========================================================== Menessis

Same issue here. 3 groups of 2 in my case. We tried to fly it last night for the first time since the update. Big mess. So I changed the first group to hot pit position 1 and 2, and then the second group to 3 and 4. We didn't have any pilots for the third group so just left it as is. Still had to taxi out of the way to get second pilot of group in the game. Another problem was while trying different spawn positions the group was moved to a land base. And then I couldn't get it back on the ship! Is it possible to have a cold jet when starting on the ship? Thanks Menessis

Well I got back in that miz file and had a look at supply. Checked the "Unlimited" box and now I have tanks again. Dont understand how that works. Too bad they can't put some sort of "tool tip" on these settings. Thanks to AH Rob :) Menessis

Hi Sedlo. These AC are on the ship. I did check that and it "Looks" like it's set for 100 of every thing. As a test I added another AC to the ship and couldn't put tanks on it either. Menessis
