  1. Anyone have a recommendation for profiles for the F-18 for this Hotas setup? I am using a VR headset if that would have any effect, but I don’t think it would. Thank you.
  2. Well, I guess the above post would solve a lot of that. Mainly having to use the wands and then not use them in order to push buttons and then flip switches back and forth, which I still can’t figure out. The more difficult thing is that my play area is set up a bit away from my desk which inhibits me from making quick moves since I have to roll back to the mouse to click and unclick items, so it sounds like it may be more work, but using the wand for me would be easier as I just lay the right hand on my lap and it doesn’t get touched.
  3. I was looking for the axis, but perhaps I over looked it. I’ll have to look for that again and see if I can find it. I’ll look again for it, if I do find it, that would help me out greatly with a majority of my issues.
  4. Some issues I am having while in VR is I use the vive controller to click something, like the circular controls for the MFDs and I can't click them back after cycling them. Need some help with the button setup or finding the proper left and right clicks on the vive wands. Second, is out of gameplay, i need to use the mouse to click on menu options or to get in game, is there a way to disable this so i can use the wands? Third, I have the the thrust master t16000m hotas and on the throttle, it has a mouse like index control, however, it doesn't let me utilize this to mouse around the pit or click items, need some help with that as well Fourth, any profiles available to the hotas for the f-18? Thank you for your help :)
  5. Can non-steam play with steam players and visversa?
  6. Thanks for all the information gents. I appreciate your time. Perhaps Ill see you out there.
  7. Seems like a pain in the ass to find ur Vr controller after putting it down to go hands on with the joy stick. Especially in any type of dog fight?
  8. It's been a while since I have been playing flight sims. I have recently purchased a Vive Pro kit over the holidays and saw that DCS was VR compatible... I also saw that the F-18 was finally released over decades of asking lol. My biggest and main question is, with the VR set, how does one fly? Do you grab the stick and thruster with the VR controllers? Or do you need a HOTAS and the controllers? I am hoping it is just use of the controllers as you can grab and click things with it as you normally would, but I don't want to shell out the 80.00 for the F-18 addon and find out to be disappointed. Any insight would help, thank you. I did do a quick search but only find that people were mainly comparing visuals vs the desktop.
  9. Yes, this is something I was looking for. The HUD is much more readable now. Thank you.
  10. I think that will work. I did not check the user files, I forgot about that being there. I'll try this out when I get up in the air next. I believe this will work. Thank you Flagrum.
  11. Did some searching and didn't really find what I was looking for. I searched on here and on a few file websites. Is it me or does the HUD just seem very... Hard to read. Even when zoomed all the way in, it's a struggle to read the lettering, espeically the heading and time to way point. What I am looking for is some sort of way to make it more readable or a mod to make it more crisp. I don't see any settings in the options menu for this either. Thanks in advance.
  12. Tis the operator, not the chopper.
  13. If you have done what DarkWanderer has said and still displays 1.02, make sure FC is ran as administrator on Vista... XP Should work fine with no issues with what has been said above.
  14. Lies, I run this sim on Vista, not a damn problem yet. Even with any graphics, I have the whole thing running on high. No FPS drops, no glitches (apart from the water glitch), nothing. Maybe you'll have problems with your average Vista home owners p.o.s.
  15. Ranting and raving with get you no where here and you will find that out very fast. 8/10 it is the members that help people out here, most times ED will over see and if anything is wrong will correct it.
  16. :doh:Wow... No not at all very simple and easy.
  17. Wow... Uh, I definitely feel really stupid. If only I opened my eyes to see a Fn key the same color as the F Keys. Thanks, at least it opened my eyes to look for something. Much appreciated. I had just got a whole new rig and with it came a new keyboard and mouse so, wasn't exaclty used to it.
  18. I have Verizon FiOs which is an excellent choice next to Optimum Online. The router set up is very user friendly. In the router set up you actually have a Tab called "Enable Gaming Applications" it seems their router is by far the most user friendly router I have seen. It will actually open up ports on it's own to allow you to connect via internet to applications you choose to open up. I.E. I click on xifre, if xfire's ports are closed and won't allow a connect it will open them for me so I do not have to go in and do it my self. Same with MSN, Black Shark, or any other type of MP games. As far as the router goes you really do not have to do anything. Was it a PiTA? - Not sure what you mean here, sorry. Overall, very simple, user friendly, no problems at all with it and I've had it for about four years now.
  19. I seem to have run into my first problem. On the communications menu it has listed all the F-Keys to use to go into which one you want. Well it seems that my keyboard has different key mapping names for F9-F12. My F9 key is mapped as Play. My F10 key is mapped as Stop. My F11 key is mapped as back. Last but not least, my F12 key is mapped as forward. I need to know if there is a way to either: A. Re-map these keys via my computer B. Re-map them in-game on the communications menu C. Am I SOL and just buy a new keyboard I have already tried to look for a way to re-map the keys in the options menu in Black Shark. Nothing found, I did how ever find out the mapping names of the keys by re-mapping other keys that were related to F9-F12 keys. I have tried to uninstall the keyboard as it is a USB device but, my computer insists that it reinstall it. I have looked for a possible way to re-map the keys via my OS (which is Vista) and still have found nothing, I looked in properties of the keyboard and it's pretty much worthless, just gives me device information and the drivers it uses. So if anyone has any bright ideas that could help me out of this situation I would much appreciate it. Shame I thought I got out of all the problems but then flying at night with no NVG's seems to cause some issues with man-pads, and other various things lol.
