  1. Excellent! I have my TIR on the paddle and AP on the throttle button. Works quite well!! Thanks again! Matz
  2. After I loaded your profile, I have it there. Should be there in the profile, correct?
  3. So basically... another bomb release system!! Cool!!! A nice insult on the way home!! Matz
  4. Thanks for the profile PhoenixBvo! I like the Throttle button for the AP as well! Matz
  5. Thans for all the input... I'm planning on trying your profile PhoenixBvo. I use the pinky lever/trigger (the tall one in front of the the "Nose Wheel Steering" button) to recenter my TIR easily and quickly. Will the profile effect that? Matz
  6. Thanks guys... still looking for that just right feel...
  7. Someone replied to me regarding their stick saturation the other day. I can't find it for the life of me now!! I'm trying to smooth my controls up while keeping them accurate and snappy. What Curves, Saturations, Deadzones are most of you TM Warthog owners using? I know this has also been addressed previously as well, but on my Saitek Pro Pedals... The don't brake equally very well at all, and are super sensitive when toe braking. Any of you care to share your best settings?? TIA for any input!!! Matz
  8. Very true... you could meet a truck passing by as well... but it would get you in the proximity.
  9. I flew a quicky just to be sure, and everything above, will guide you in at the correct approach heading. I didn't, however, engage my landing gear to see if a AoA indexer would activate. I suspect that it would not, as it is relying on the ILS/Tacan Beacon (please correct me if I'm wrong on that one guys). But basically, yes, you can use just a markpoint to determine course deviation (as long as you know the runway bearing), and by using the steerpoint, you can gain the additional info not to slam into the ground... which I seem to do a bit of! :D Matz
  10. Take off and gain altitude. Use the TGP (lasing) to set a Markpoint. Set that Markpoint as SPI. Since the pilot would know the runway's bearings, he could then set the HSI course setting indicator to the correct bearing for the runway. Have your EGI on and turn on the on the ILS (not the reciever, but on the NMSP) and unstow the course deviation needles, and then you can align with the runway without a deviated course to the approach. Set the CDU to "Steerpoint" and it will give you "Time To Go" and elevation of the Steerpoint, based on you current SPI... thus creating a crude ILS "signal" of sorts. Do this at the end of the runway, and you should be almost dead on... elevation, Time To Go, bearing and your alignment. Matz
  11. Only way to learn sometimes is to ask Ruger... and there's always some very knowledgeable folks here that will help. Always try searches first, and if no luck... ask away! This is where I've been getting my education in DCS and the A-10 from! Great group! Matz
  12. Very sweet skin!!! Thanx a bunch!!! Matz
  13. I would imagine that the bottleneck is in the onboard GPU. Not a lot you can do about that, aside from upgrading to a desktop PC. Which price wise will likely surprise you. A decent gaming PC can quite affordable if done right. Stay with the HOTAS and the playroom items... the HOTAS will be easy to plug into a desktop when you get one. JMO. :) Matz
  14. Agree with Madone. Maybe a sticky that says "If you purchased the A-10C on Steam, ALL you need is the Key Code. DL everything from DCS and use your Steam Key Code as your DCS Key Code, just as if you had purchased it at DCS."
  15. Very Nice!!! Well done, and quite well written! Matt
  16. Got it... I think ya gotta turn that lil ILS Xmitter on dude!! :D
  17. It's not necessarily the "angle you're coming in at" to land, but rather the bearing from your current position to the runway's glideslope. So, if you keep moving, and report back in... your position has moved, and ATC will give you new bearings to intercept the glideslope. Check out some videos on Course Deviation Indication via ILS... they may clear a few things up for you. Hope this helps. Matz
  18. If I had to pick one thing that made the biggest difference in my flying to this point, getting more acquainted with the CDU was it. Still not 100% at using it by any means, but knocking the sharp edges off of it, and getting the general concept of most of it's features down help a lot!! Happy flying!! Once you start blowing stuff up with precision will really light your learning fire! At least it did mine!! :D There's just something special about a JDAM piercing the center of an anti-aircraft enclosure!! Matz
  19. I've been trying to get the saturation honed in, and almost have my curves more user friendly... I'll definitely try your ranges though!! Thanks for the encouragement all!! Madone... that will be a TASK!! :joystick: Marklar, I may have to stick to some shorter missions for a bit longer... everything I've seen shows air to air fuel is one tough mama!!! Cheers all!! Matz
  20. Gettin' there Duck!! How soon until the new rig makes a landing?
  21. Hang in there... It only gets cooler the more you learn! It's a really fine (and challenging) Sim!
  22. Thanks! A small sense of accomplishment easily sparks new enthusiasm! It'll make climbing back in the seat next time, that much more fun! Matz
  23. I've got over 50hrs in the cockpit, not counting the training missions flown over and over again, and have practiced many times over on every aspect of the Sim I've learned so far. I still need to dig into Air to Air and Counter Measures, but I'm getting there next! I have a practice mission I built with a Ramp Start, engaging the practice area, and wiping the planet clean of it's inhabitants and their two AAA's, a barracks, and 5 ground vehicles. After you eliminate them all... you land and park. I killed it tonight!!! :joystick: Woohoo!!!! Might still be a little wobbly, but have just under 100 successful landings. I often have to retarget a few times, but I'm using Lased Mark Points for targeting, and a variety of munitions. Thanks to all the great advice here, and a big thanks to all the awesome training videos out there... this beast can be flown!! Thanx especially for videos by ExcessiveHeadspace and ralfidude... they helped immensely!! So for all the other Noobs out there... stay at it... there is hope yet. A few hundred more hours, and I might be close to getting up to speed!!! :) Matz (Forgot to mention the great videos by Fish as well!)
  24. The one provided with the game is on my Android tablet, where it's been since day one... along with all the other instructional .pdfs . Works great there!
  25. Great topic... I reached Captain without ever firing a round, and haf no clue what the markers were that elevated your rank. Matz
