  1. Hi guys, I am not sure if this is a bug or something else, but hopefully there is some wise sage out there that can help me? I did a clean install of all my DCS kit about a month ago as I started flying again for the F16. However, for some reason TACVIEW is not recognised in the DCS splash screen (like SRS or the other modules) - its like it doesnt know it there. On top of that, I recently went to a track file of a multi player flight to support an F16 bug, but the flight only shows my wingman (not an Ai, a 'real' player) but not my jet - as if I am not there. We were the only two objects in the whole mission. I would add that I was the host and as i say, it showed my wingman, not me. When I receive TACVIEW ACMI files from others - I still dont show in their TACVIEW files - its as if I am not there? I wonder if there is some major glitch, or a privacy box that needs to be checked or un-checked or some LUA conflict? I dont know as i am hopeless at fixing these types of issues. Does this seem familiar to anyone out there that might be able to suggest a fix? PSA my TACVIEW config luas luas from saved games/openbeta/scripts (happy to attach any others that people feel might be at fault). I am on the most up to data version of open beta and latest versions of helios, tacview and SRS. Thanks in advance. -S Export.lua TacviewGameExport.lua
  2. @ Newy, Well I have the track, but for some reason it has not recorded my jet - only my wingmans? No track (for now). If I can resolve the issue I will post the track, failing that I will try and see if I can replicate the issue (with a track). -S
  3. Thanks Newy. Also you might give the team a heads up on this thread too (more people seeing the issue):https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=253253
  4. Yeah no worries - it might have been a one time issue (like when my steerpoint auto select became possessed and instead of switching to auto/manual decided to spin through all of the steer points at high speed till the dobber was pressed again). @ anyone: Can anyone tell me: A): How to save a multi player track? B): where to find saved multi player tracks? C) If it is possible to recover a track from a prior multi player mission? -S
  5. Newy it happened during a mutil player session - how do I get/recover a mutil player track? -S
  6. Ok cool. So HUD shows full range (155) and HSDs show max limit (99nm), bearing is constant at 095. It was the 155nm that threw me - ED - perhaps a note somewhere in the manual? Cool thanks gents sorry for misunderstanding - I have edit my posts accordingly.
  7. As title, I can only provide screen shots, but if the situation occurs again I will provide a track. Flying towards the way point I noticed the flight path/line on the HSD disappeared, then a few seconds later it re-appeared. Please see images (not taken far apart time wise). As you can see, the path/line is present in one and not in the other? As far as i could tell there was no lighting/shading issues it seemed to be from what the MFD was showing rather than being influenced by an environmental factor. Sorry no further detail at this time - will monitor. -S PS: Could a mod edit the title for clarity please see new title above.
  8. User error - please delete or mark as non issue. Went into the game today and the DMS was working fine.
  9. 2.5.6.47224 (17/04/19) I noticed this today since the patch, I am quite sure the error was not there before the patch. I would note the alignment was correct (no red flag on HSI and flashing ready on Align page and HUD) and my start up was normal and never caused an issue before today's patch. Alignment was from stored alignment, moved into norm about a minute after the Align was flashing ready. As you can see from the screen shot, neither of the MFDs were selected as SOI (this was from the default position that normally sets the FCR as SOI). I was unable to move the soi around using the DMS aft/fwd. Sorry no track, if I can replicate I will save and post a track. I have a picture but as its the same picture as one I used to post about another issue I found I will have to supply to the link to the other thread (sorry). https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=270102 -S
  10. Please delete - user error issue solved. Thanks to Bonzo and Bouli306
  11. +1 for the air to ground radar - cant wait :)
  12. This might be impossible owing to way DCS works atm but it would be great if upon entering the pit/in the briefing screen pilots could put steerpoint lines (not waypoint/route lines), pre planned threat points with range circles and also the ability to put unique waypoints/steerpoints to use as precision target points and/or adjust a waypoint already set (say over an airbase) so that when a 4 ship flies over the waypoint each pilot in the 4 ship has the waypoint set to a specific target (eg ammo dump, atc, runway, swimming pool). -S
  13. +1
  14. I dont completely suck! Yay me :) Thanks so much for the heads up ilikepie. :) -S
  15. Hi guys, Contrary to what the following post is going to suggest - I dont suck (to badly). I have been trying to land the F16 with a 10knt cross wind (less than half the aircrafts limit) and I just cant do it - the aircraft is all over the place. Now I would add (as some limited proof that I am not a complete moron) that I have been flying DCS and other sims for well over a decade and I have never had a problem with cross wind landings (including with much stronger cross winds than a mere 10knts), including in DCS in the FA18, A10, F15 and so on. But no matter what I do the aircraft becomes atrociously unstable not long after 2 wheel touch down. I have tried everything - crabbing with some rudder input on touch down (as per how its supposed to be done), with drift correct on and off for different approach angles, applying different combinations and pressures of toe braking, rudder input and roll to counter the cross wind and (more appropriately) the aircraft tendency to weave and buck on all 3 wheels (rarely more than 1 at a time!) and while i have managed the odd landing, its just plain not safe or sensible to do so. Is anyone else finding this issue and/or is it just an issue as things stand in the current F16 early access that will be tuned and fixed as the module improves? -S
  16. Hi Guys, I have found an issue with the F16 trim roll axis where it is basically impossible to properly trim the aircraft in the roll axis when loaded asymmetrically or when a load out becomes asymmetric? Specifically I am having trouble when the targeting pod is attached and/or when I have fired 1 AMRAAM (creating an asymmetric configuration). I only tested these configurations, but I imagine the issue is a generic one for any asymmetric configuration on the F16. My next question is: Is this the expected behaviour or just the situation with the 16 at the moment and will likely be 'improved' as the module develops? Please see tracks for reference and note the descriptions of the track tests below: 1) The first track you should watch is titled 'F16 Trim Test Clean No Wind'. It shows me in the F16, clean with wind 0@0. I fly straight and level. You will see me deploy countermeasures, at this point I press the trim hat (HOTAS) button once - the jet (naturally) rolls. You will see me deploy countermeasures again, i then press the trim hat (HOTAS) button to counter the roll. As you see, the jet stabilises nicely (less my poor flying). 2) The next file to watch is the track titled 'F16 Trim Test Clean Wind 180@15knts'. This is the same as the first track, except i have put wind at 15knts direction 180. I perform a 45 degree then another 45 degree turn. As you see, the jet is not effected by the wind (this is, i believe, correct as the jet sorts itself out). But it proves that wind is not a factor. 3) The track 'F16 Trim Test TGP No Wind' is as track 1, but with a TGP on an otherwise clean jet. I try to fly straight and level but as you can see, the asymmetric configuration has imparted a roll on the jet (again, this seems correct to me). However, you will then see me deploy countermeasures, at this point I press the trim hat (HOTAS) button once to correct the roll - and the jet now has a roll in the opposite direction (this is where i believe the issue is, and i think it is to do with the 'coarseness' of the F16 trim input, although could of course be the physics/flight model, but i know nothing about those kind of things). You will see me deploy countermeasures again, i press the trim hat (HOTAS) button to counter the now opposite roll - and the jet now goes back to rolling in the opposite direction. As a result, given 1 trim hat press in either direction it is impossible to trim the jet for stable flight in the roll axis. 4) Same as track 3 except for x6 AMRAAMs. I fire one AMRAAM and the jet naturally begins to roll (fair enough). I deploy countermeasures and press the trim hat once to correct the roll - not enough trim input as the jet continues to roll slightly in the same direction (again this is fair enough). So on the next countermeasures I press on the trim hat (HOTAS) once more and now the jet is rolling in the opposite direction. On the next countermeasures I press the trim hat (HOTAS) once in the opposite direction, and the jet is back to rolling in the opposite direction again. Again unable to trim for stable flight in the roll axis. For reference the countermeasures are only in the track files to show when I press the trim hat, they are not linked to the issue. I can replicate the conditions without the countermeasures. Also, each press of the trim hat is a short press. Finally, I am using a TMWH (in case it matters), I have not edited any lua files, I am on open beta, most up to date version with Windows 10. -S F16 Trim Test Clean no wind.trk F16 Trim Test CleanWind 180@15knt.trk F16 TGP Only no wind.trk F16 AMRAAM Only No Wind.trk
  17. Hi guys, I am trying to find out whether the CNI page on the DED can/will be able to show TACAN distance information? In the BMS F16 it was possible to set the A-A TACAN on an intra-flight basis and the distance between say 11/74Y would be displayed in the bottom right of the CNI DED screen. I appreciate BMS is a different model 16 to the DCS one and fidelity may also be different. I just wondered if this was possible on the DCS F16 or if it was likely that it would be modeled at some point and it really was quite useful for certain things. -S
  18. As title really. Sometimes it's nice to get there when you are expected to be there ;) -S
  19. Thanks. And as the post had been labelled 'correct as is' I guess we will have to make do with the 10/15 scale. Thanks for answers guys :) -S
  20. Big +1 ! If BMS is anything to go by (appreciate it isn't the same model etc) then the FVR cursor.positiom should show the bullseye of where the cursor is and this and the cursor position should be mirrored on the MFD. -S
  21. F16 Trim Coarseness Question Hi Guys, I just wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing an issue with the F16 trim roll axis whereby it is basically impossible to properly trim the aircraft in the roll axis when loaded with or when a load out becomes asymmetric? Specifically I am having trouble when the targeting pod is attached and/or when I have fired 1 amraam, creating an asymmetric configuration. My next question is: Is this the expected behaviour or just the situation with the 16 at the moment and will likely be 'improved' as the module develops? -S
