If it doesn't already apply I would like to report this for 126. In my case the X Y seems ok but no other dials are working at all in any way. I can hear clicking but can't see any input/channel change. Is this still open for 126 or should I make a new thread? -Sharpe

Same here can you link the bug report and ill support it. -Sharpe

View Ports No Longer Coming Over In DCSW 126
Sharpe_95 replied to Sharpe_95's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Posted in wrong area. Mods please close this thread. However, would you mind not deleting it for 24 hours as i cant copy/paste the code above into the new thread with my phone so will need to wait till I get back from work tomorrow. -Sharpe -
Mods: If this lettering/numbering/doodling is in fact part of the new look can you close/lock this thread please? I have reposted my viewport issues somewhere more appropriate (I think). -ED, You might have given us a heads up on the change shown above - I cant see it anywhere in the change notes (I may be blind tho). -Sharpe

Hey guys, I was working on my helios profile, working on the viewports LUA last night (before the update) and was slowly brining the view ports over (the RWR, MFCDs, ECMP, Digital Clock etc) and everything was going fine. I updated to 126, now nothing is coming over to my second screen. I can therefore only assume (as literally nothing else has changed) that this is the result of some change in DCSW125. My lua script is still saved here: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\MonitorSetup The code for my LUA is on the next post down. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance, -Sharpe
-
Ah ok - new thing didn't realise that was intended thanks  -Any thoughts on why the view ports aren't coming over any more? -Sharpe
-
You cant see the 'doodled' numbers on the UFC buttons on the right?
-
Hi Guys, Updated patch last night, came back to my PC today to find this: Clearly not right. Also, my helios profile (or rather, the lua script that brings the view ports over is no longer working). :helpsmilie: -Sharpe

You probably pulled your wing off mate. Keep an eye on your speed and G-Loading when performing aggressive manoeuvres - especially when loaded with stores. -Sharpe

First, i dont remember saying i dont mind them. Secondly, you feel happy to set the rules yourself? It's a forum, people post thier opinions/thoughts - as you say, if you dont like it dont read it or move on. Hypocrisy is a bad habit. -Sharpe

Sorry but I have to disagree. I think it should be canned. 1) I am not 100% convinced Wags has 100% knowledge/control of 'the pipline' so he is just feeding us the devs work from each week. The devs work rather slow which means the updates are laughably predictable. 2) In 3 months of 'Wagdates' we have heard close to nothing on EDGE, F/A18c, Nevada, Dynamic Campaign. This basically left us with 'patch, AFM/Steam, new renders of Anon playable units and occasionally Dora' - for three months. 3) To be honest, for me, (and with all respect to ED) I just want to hear, X is being word on, Y will be next and Z has slid to the right for a/b/c reasons'. We very rarely got this and for my part the Wagdates were more of a disappointment than anything else. 4) It is my full belief that (unless ED have some clever secret up their sleeve) the F/A18c will be shelved or (at best) released in 2015 or later. Given that CD's more advanced, more capable and more powerful F/A18E will be released well ahead of ED'S older legacy Hornet. While I could see people happily upgrading from C to E, I can't see to many going the other way - thus if ED cant get their Hornet out first they may not make a lot of money from it. Thus (in MY humble opinion) the only thing I wanted to hear about in a Wagdate was F/A18c news. I think the reason we have heard nothing in 3 months is because it's shelved or going to be shelved. -and yes, I did see the external image of the Hornet and no, as Wags and many other people have said in no uncertain terms, an image does not mean a lot. - Glad the Wagdate and the pathetic anticipation for nothing is finished. Maybe a ED will have more to say of interest on a monthly basis. Good call to can it. -Sharpe

Is The VRS, FSX Superbug A suitable Training Tool For CD's Future F/A18E? Hi Guys, It occurs to me that there is a high fidelity F/A18E available for FSX, produced by VRS. I appreciate that a lot of this is conjecture atm but I was wondering what peoples views were on whether or not this would be a good/accurate 'training tool' to get up to speed on the F/A18E's systems etc? I ask in eager anticipation of CD's F/A18E hopefully some time next year (dare I say/hope for early next year). It would be good to get some of the learning curve out the way with before CD's release. The only real questions are: a) How well modelled is the VRS Super Hornet b) How well modelled will the CD Super Hornet be? - One assumes that if they are both done to a very high and realistic standard then there should'nt be much difference between them in terms of using/learning the systems and I for one would love to get ahead of the learning curve pre DCS release of the CD Super Hornet. Any thoughts anyone? Does anyone own/use VRS Super Hornet in FSX - how is it? -Sharpe

I know mate. Just trying to cheer you up. I sympathise with what your going through on a topic like this. -Sharpe

Look on the bright side Hueyman - if your inside it and flying it you don't have to look at the mast. Every cloud and all... -Sharpe
-
Hueyman, I have no technical knowledge in this area so I shant/cant comment, but perhaps looking at an engineering manual or contacting some Huey pilots might provide you with a definitive answer? While I agree that ED DCS sets the bar high in terms of standard and that where ever possible a precedent should not be allowed to be set that needlessly compromises sim fidelity I think ultimately you need to speak with Belsimtek offline and persuade them. Really the people on this forum will spout off a load of rubbish and even some genuine accurate points. One way or the other though you need to change the mind only of Belsimtek and this may best be done subtly offline away from public scrutiny. If you can't persuade them or ED then it really doesn't matter one way or the other and I fear you may be tilting at windmils. Good luck though mate (assuming your right), -Sharpe

So unless someone wholeheartedly agrees with a topic then they should not post? In which case why ask the question if all you want is people nodding in agreement. Why post to agree? In fact why have forums at all? The word forum is a formation of Greek and Latin words for public gathering place, often used for debate and/judicial hearings. There isn't anything wrong with some constructive criticism. I wouldn't expect everyone here to simply acquiesce to my views on what should/should not be in DCS, but if I pose a question its because I want to hear all sides of the debate. -Sharpe

On the one hand I would say the more HiFi modules the better. On the other I would point out its a strategic lift asset in a game with no strategic element and nothing to transport thus falling into the trap of Huey and Mi-8; transport assets with nothing to transport. Digital Combat Simulator. I'm just saying it would be nice to fly some new modern HiFi fixed wing assests. -Sharpe
-
I dont own huey as its not my thing. But I fly with loads of people who use it and they say you can hardly tell its in beta. Most of the issues with it are DCSW/multi player related anyway and do not effect the platform per say. Go get it and have fun :joystick: -Sharpe

Really glad to hear KI are continuing this project  One assumes KI will create a 3rd party dev area once funding is agreed and in place? -Sharpe

steam and ED DCS World reg key's
Sharpe_95 replied to 71st_Mastiff's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
So, does this mean updates via steam or do we continue to use DCS auto-update. Also does this indicate that we must/should/could/doesn't matter either way if we use Steam or straight up ED path to download (past/present/future)? -Sharpe -
Which ED 'Development' are you most looking forward too?
Sharpe_95 replied to Sharpe_95's topic in DCS Wishlist
I wonder if todays 'Wagdate' will put a To Be Released Date on any of the above? -Sharpe -
9 out of 10 times your playing it loose and fast with the word 'news'. .....Dora....AFM....Steam....Patch/bugs zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz *Probability of Nevada news - Low *Probability of EDGE news - Lower *Probability of F/A18c news - Basically Zero -Sharpe

I have seen this problem too. -Sharpe
