In open Beta I'm finding that client crashes whilst engaging shipping with Groms. Worked fine in previous version. Will post track later. Logs.rar

yes, tried the saved game thing. haven't tried the repair tho as it started after the update. Maybe just need to rummage around in the controls settings a bit more but haven't found anything obvious up until now.

Is anybody else getting problems trying to move the laser designator onto targets in the Su25?. It's as though the reticle has a mind of its own and moves in a different plane to the input

TRACK IR IS Outdated
FubarBundy replied to ZQuickSilverZ's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Blimey... was just being flippant about what I always thought was prolly a myth anyway. The point stands tho... TIR is does the job plenty well enough for my needs at present. (got to admit its quite expensive for a pencil tho) -
Something I've wanted for a long time... the ability to add an empty space / REM / comment line when building missions. This way It would be easier to manage the groups of editor commands responsible for given behaviours.

TRACK IR IS Outdated
FubarBundy replied to ZQuickSilverZ's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Somehow this thread reminds me of how NASA spent a fortune on developing a pen that works in space... the Russians just used a pencil. I love my track IR despite all its quirks and "features" :music_whistling: -

this is one I made but it happens on other servers too. -
Multiplayer counts a loss after landing helis at FARP
FubarBundy replied to FubarBundy's topic in Multiplayer
track This shows what happens.. any heli at a FARP causes a loss when left, heli's at airfields don't. 1 Mi-8 is from Kutaisi, the other from a FARP. Seems the FARP isn't recognised as "home" client-20140929-170946.trk -
Multiplayer counts a loss after landing helis at FARP
FubarBundy replied to FubarBundy's topic in Multiplayer
erm, any of the above. Ejection I would expect to create a loss tho :). Just tried to make a track for you but it was too over 500kb. I've just found that all you have to do is join the slot, spawn the heli and then go straight back to spectators without doing anything. This alos creates a loss -
Multiplayer counts a loss after landing helis at FARP
FubarBundy replied to FubarBundy's topic in Multiplayer
seems to be any circumstances and same for Mi-8, Ka and Huey. Landing at FARP and leaving helicopter will generate a loss for the pilot. It happens the same whether the aircraft is shut down or not. It doesn't happen at airfields tho. -
Is this a known bug?.. it seems that when a helicopter lands at a FARP, the multiplayer score will record a loss for the pilot :(

I managed to out extended turn a player 51D in a Dora by using centre flap position and full power. I was quite surprised when I saw him give up and level out as I thought I was gonna die from the silly mistake of not staying vertical. Not sure how realistic this is an not sure what would have happened if the other guy had dropped his flaps also. Interestingly, I once managed to do the same in an IL2 Dora vs P51D engagement... I was surprised that time too :)

Same issue here... Intermittent lag when gound units are moving in numbers. AI aircraft will do the same. I'm also finding that the lag is worse with respawned units and the lag gets worse over the time the misson is running. just wanting to confirm the issue. Its a shame because it makes a truly dynamic battlefield for large numbers of players almost impossible :(

oh blimey... I fixed that sometime ago and deleted the broken one. I think that all you need to do is to select the relevant bases in the mission editor and select the relevant coalition for it to belong to. I think that if you don't, it sees it as a switched condition each time an aircraft joins. Also, you might want to set a flag to on when an a/c is in a zone and the same flag to off when out of the zone. This way you can use increase flag to repeat the message periodically if required. The airfield will still need to have its ownership designated tho or same will happen.

Make sure the bases are set as belonging to the correct coalition in the misson editor. I had a similar problem but this fixed it for me.

It was happening anywhere the infantry were supposed to be dropped. Ajax has found the cure by making some changes in CTTS and Mist. Not sure what exactly.. as I said, I just a poor, confused old man :D
-
re ctts problem. No error message, just wont spawn troops although "troops dropped" message still appears. happens only when there are uncontrolled (I think red) aircraft are in the mission. I've got a ver with and a ver without... just trying to figure out how to send em over the pm. (Poor confused old man that I am!)

work around for invisible infantry ? Just wondering if anybody has managed a work around which stops ctts dropped infantry being invisible when there are uncontrolled aircraft on the opposite side. This is really messing up something I've been working on for the 51st server

1) yes. I'm not sure if its that the cyclic is more sensitive or if its because the Ka-50 is a much more powerful aircraft. I also seem to remember a point where the Hueys' collective was much more sensitive earlier in its development. 2)The Ka has a very clever auto-stabiliation feature. As such, it takes a slightly different approach to the Huey. With the Huey, you are telling it where to go but with the Ka you are telling the autopilot / stabilisation system where you want it to tell the helicopter to go. Because of this, trim becomes very important. There are some good articles around (I seem to remember a very good one on sim hq), about this but I think it can be summed up like this... when manouvering, keep the trim button pressed. When the helicopter is moving as you want, let go of the trim button and centre your rudder as this is also trimmed because there isn't one. You should find it much smoother and more precise like this. (Also, experiment with the 5 big square, blue buttons to your right... these are the stability control channel selectors. The 5th one is "flight director" mode.. having this switched on can make the helicopter feel a little more like the Huey a it will stop the stabilisation system trying to return you to your previous state.) 3) most definatley yes you should! :) 3b) and 4) can't help with these one, sorry :(

I've been playing around with the return to Inguri mission adding capture zones and putting individualised messages in for each aircraft, (a lot of work) Everything was going great and was about to put finishing touches but then I altered the configuration of a client aircraft group from A-10a to Su-25a. Now, the radio menus work for the aircraft already present but, on joining the new aircraft the radio menu ceases to work for any aircraft whatsoever. This includes the default radio menu from airfields, FARPS etc. This will also happen for any aircraft I add since changing the configuration Hoping somebody can shed some light on this. I've tried all sorts of stuff but to no avail  Georgian EWR was the culprit... seems to block out all blue radio traffic for certain aircraft types. Changed it to Ukranian EWR and voila :)

I'm using the complete transport script in some of the missions I've been making but since the last 1.2.7 update, I'm finding that an infantryman running into my helicopter will push it over and damage it. :(
