  2. Haha T, yep old being the operative word here, I feel like a tired old dog after the tiring but exhilarating weekend. Also many thanks to the old and new faces that came to say Hi and see the Hawk and other new modules, especially in 3d. Now onto planning for something bigger and better for the September show, hope to see you there :) Chris

  6. I can't seem to get photos to post up at the moment in here, so please check out our Facebook page where I've posted them. https://www.facebook.com/pages/VEAO-Simulations/130582376992838?ref=ts&fref=ts And why not give us a like while you're there!!! Cheers, Chris.
  7. Thanks guys and especially nice to meet you again B!! I only managed to take one picture as it was a very busy day yesterday and I'll post that up later. There were quite a few people from the forums that took pictures and of course it was great to meet you and apologies if I didn't get a chance to chat. A very rainy start to the day this morning when we woke up and after the 14 bottles of wine drunk by Pete, Rob, Mike, Chris and Jodie (TFC) last night and some very sore heads this morning we're up and running for day 3. Good job I was the designated driver or the guys would be still be asleep in the Beaufighter right about now ;) For anyone at RIAT, did you get to see the Rift and how was it? If you're coming today, will be great to catch up with you :) Cheers, C.
  8. Yes draws will be done this afternoon at 17:00BST (UTC+1) and winners will be announced on here and Facebook. So make sure you get those entries in :)
  9. Not a bad first day of Legends... It started on the Thursday night when Pman and I went for dinner with the TFC techs (not Nando's unfortunately for Pete) and we've never laughed so hard in a long time. Due to bad traffic getting home it was well past midnight so we crashed out ready for an early start yesterday morning. We arrived at Pete's place and unpacked his PC and packed up the car in the pouring rain thinking what a great start to the weekend. We had a fairly good run up to Dux and arrived about 10.30am. Rock (Rob) met us there and Groove (Matthias) from Eagle Dynamics quickly came and introduced himself to us. With the car unpacked we set up the kit and tested everything out with all working like a charm :) With a wet morning most of the TFC techs came over and had a good fly of all the new projects; Hawk, Sabre, Dora, MiG and of course the Mustang. YoYo (Dmitry) from ED came over and we had a good chat about the Sabre which we fired up and took for a spin and then his beloved Dora. Later that afternoon Stephen Grey (boss of TFC) brought a friend over to show the Mustang and Pete did a perfect start-up and flight routine under close instruction by Stephen. A daunting task very well executed by Pete with such an iconic Warbirds pilot over his shoulder. Nick Grey then joined us and wanted to see the Hawk and took her for a flight, having flown a Hawk in the past. He was very impressed with what we've done and a big thumbs up. Shortly after that we had a break and I got a call from BBC Radio doing a big piece on the Red Arrows 50th anniversary at RIAT and they'd heard about The Virtual Red Arrows and wanted to do a live interview about what we were doing at Duxford and RIAT. With the Bearcat up in the air outside we did a recording of the interview with her screaming overhead right next to the hangar which certainly added to the interview. The broadcast went out as part of the feature to over 1.4 million listeners. Certainly a good way to let people know about out great hobby!! By 6pm most of the public had gone and Groove and I joined Pman and Rock out on the flight line. We then had the immense pleasure of talking to Steve and Stevo Hinton. We then had the ultimate pleasure of watching both father and son take off in the Spitfires and do a short routine together. Something that hasn't been since for a very long time. We also had the pleasure of seeing Nick Grey fly the Gladiator about 10 feet off the deck cutting the grass. A truly awesome day and one that will stay in my memory for a long time. We're up early this morning to head to Dux and hope you can join us over the weekend. Chris, Pete, Rob, Matthias and Mike.
  10. Yep don't worry, I only have a couple of those. Also we have a few where the subject line is not what we asked for. They will be ignored. 907 entries to date and only a few days left to get them in!!
  11. Hey Sobecho, A modern day jet takes about 1-2 years development, especially the ones that you mentioned. A WWII aircraft takes about 3-4 months. So would you rather have a new aircraft every 1-2 years or something new to fly every few months. That's pretty much what it comes down to. Cheers, C.
  12. I'll stand behind you and wobble you a bit too, more immersion ;)
  13. Haha Unfortunately the guy that was bringing them down can no longer attend and my DK2's haven't arrived in time. Hopefully for the September show they'll be here.
  14. We regret to announce that due to circumstances beyond our control we will not be having the Oculus Rift at Legends. We will however have a 3d monitor and glasses so you can still experience the thrill of close Mustang formation from the Virtual Horsemen in glorious 3D. Thanks, Chris.
  15. I should hope so Sharpe ;) lol
  16. I have a DK2 on order mate ;)
  17. DK1 and you won't be able to fly in it mate, just spectate looking around :)
  18. LMAO Sith Got a huge air show otentially lined up for next year with many virtual aerobatic teams displaying on the big screens whilst the real aircraft transition ;) In the UK unfortunately. Although I do hear that Pete will be touring the world Nando's collection country by country sometime soon ;)
  19. Thanks buddy :)
  20. VEAO Simulations Ltd in partnership with QinetiQ are very pleased to announce that the DCS Hawk experience will be at RIAT this week and coming weekend public days. Within the Tech Zone tent, QinetiQ will have a Martin-Baker Mk 10B zero-zero ejection seat with the Oculus Rift headset to experience what it's like to fly a Red Arrows Hawk. You will sit back and enjoy looking around the cockpit during a short Synchro routine and experience the thrill of the Red Arrows flying. As the VEAO team will be at Flying Legends, our partners at QinetiQ will be taking care of you. We hope you enjoy the experience and look forward to receiving feedback from you if you get to have a go. Many thanks, Chris.
  21. Wow 651 entries so far. So many people want the Hawk for free...or is it the Sabre they want ;)
  22. No it's not a marketing scheme to get emails, just my way of saying thanks for the community support on our projects and I'm sure you guys would like the Sabre too as she is great to fly. Cheers, C.
