*sigh*...some people. I once wondered how it could take game developers so long to put out a game (especially the good ones). Then I joined a development team myself...and I've learned that there is SO MUCH going on in development that the average player never even THINKS about... I definately have a new-found respect for the challenges and difficulties developers face. Unfortunately some others appear to lack understanding and/or perspective.

Ha Ha...LO 1.3 Flaming Trees, a possibility:D Don't get me wrong though, I cannot wait and will be quite content to fly the Shark!

Making a new computer, how will LOMAC run?
RedAssAg05 replied to p_o_d_2_2's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
spend an extra 6 bucks (plus shipping) for some Arctic Silver 5 (unless you have some already); I put it on my CPU and GPU; when applied properly it can give you some benefit in heat dissipation (~3-12 degrees depending on the environment). -
if you are using Vista, you can kiss your hardware audio acceleration goodbye; Microsoft ditched hardware audio support to reduce the frequency of fatal system errors caused by audio drivers/codecs. Look for Creative's 'ALchemy' project, based on OpenAL. The goal is to emulate hardware support through software.

2 cents to the Devs for future products

I would gladly do some voiceovers if ED's interested (currently doing some VO work for the game project I'm writing for, Beyond the Red Line); if you want an easy southern/Texan accent, just look me up;) -
Who plays online and who does not.
RedAssAg05 replied to Mizzy's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I still haven't gotten online yet since I just don't have much time to fly:( I'm still in 'training,' and having more fun getting a handle on mud moving than learning air to air tactics...though it is something I really want to get into. -
X-52 Pro Profile - anybody got one?
RedAssAg05 replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
GunSlinger, one thing you may notice from gundelgauk's post (you may already know this, but I'll say it anyway): you can combine your profile settings with in-game input settings. If a key/axis is not mapped in the X52 profile, the map will default to the in-game designated input. Most of what he mentioned here regarding the trim knobs and mouse stick I implemented similarly with my X45, in conjunction with the saitek profile! -

The website does claim that the screenshots are 'pre-beta'...whether they are or not *shrug*... -
Wow guys, thanks for the great responses!! Pilotasso, I didn't find your review in my initial searches (guess I didn't dig deep enough), but very informative! These opinions definitely give me more information, thanks.

Okay, I've been reading through this thread and others, and read many reviews regarding the X52, X52 Pro, Saitek Pro Pedals, CH Fighterstick, CH Throttle, and CH Pro Pedals, and have a couple of questions regarding them. Mainly for those who have used both: How does the resistance of the X52 stick compare to the CH Fighterstick? I read about the fighterstick having 'dual trim' controls on the base...are there three wheels? One for pitch, one for yaw, and one for throttle? If so, is the throttle wheel reprogrammable? How does the resistance of the X52 throttle compare to the CH throttle? I read about the CH pedals being 'light to the touch' and having little resistance. How does it compare to the Saitek rudders with its adjustable tension? Finally, I read in an old thread on here that LOMAC does not support rudder toe brakes. Is this true? If LOMAC does indeed support toe brakes, does it support differential braking? Thanks much!

How are you connecting to the TV? S-Video? Composite (the yellow RCA jack)? Component? VGA? Also, that video card is pretty out-dated. How does the game perform using a monitor?
