  1. also, you might look on www.hardforum.com, one of the largest for sale/trade communities I've found....you can surely find what you're looking there for, and if you can convince the seller to trust a new guy, you can get a pretty good deal, too. the For Sale/Trade forum is near the bottom of the main page. Good luck!
  2. You should always completely uninstall the previous drivers before you install new ones (in my expreience, you can keep any ATi media players and such installed, but uninstall the Control Center and Display Drivers); if you do not, it could certainly cause issues. Couldn't tell from your post if you'd done a complete uninstall or not, but just thought I'd offer anyway.
  3. Which version of the ATi Catalyst drivers are you using?
  4. using 1.12a? check the Bugs forum...there are several posts on this; something about deleting some track IR files from a couple folders, but since I've never had the problem, never done it, I suggest you roll over to the Bugs forum...or wait for someone better to answer;)
  5. Also (to continue an academic discussion), where the Blackhawks that were shot down DAPs, SpecOps, or a different role? Not all -60s fly with pylons attached...which would be another profile difference.
  6. Maybe someone else can speak for the Saitek X52, but the X45 (my stick) and the Thrustmaster Top Gun Afterburner (my old stick) have a 'rocker' switch on the front side of the throttle, that--while not fully realistic--works quite well for yaw control. I know a lot of you swear by realism, and that CH Products sticks and the HOTAS Cougar are your equipment of choice, but I've found the X45 to be very well rounded, enabling me to keep my hands on the controls and off the keyboard more, and allow me the fine control of all three axes, as well as trim, weapons and navigation control.
  7. You know, based on the problems I've read about with 1.12a with TrackIR and other various 'bugs' that I don't experience with 1.1 (flaming Cliffs), I am actually disinclined to patch my installation; asked over in the 'bugs' forum (which may have been the wrong place), and no one really overwhelming supported patching. If I'm going to have to delete TrackIR files every time I change the game settings, or witness new anomolies as opposed to those that I'm already familiar with and used to, then I'm more inclined to bide my time until BS and see how that release fares...then, if the program is looking more solid, I'll upgrade. Unless someone can convince me I can't live without 1.12a (not a big online player...don't really have time for MP, unforunately).
  8. Thanks for your response! Yeah...considered overheating...I'll have to check for dust. So, Lock on Gold already has the Season pack, and Ground LODs?
  9. Howdy! Thanks to a gogamer.com deal I was able to finally get my long-coveted TrackIR4 and a new copy of LOMAC, jumping back into the cockpit after nearly two years without! Been flying off and on for two weeks now, and I'm looking for the best way to optimize game performance, and my experience. So I guess I'm asking for a little advice. I have a clean install of Lock On Gold (1.1). I'm trying to decide if it's worth the try of patching to 1.12a(after purusing this forum, I've found that there are several issues with it...for some people they are old, others seem to believe they were created), or if I should stay the course for now since most things seem to work fairly well (someone was saying that 1.12a breaks some training missions?) and just get some of the smaller fixes, like the Ground LOD fix. I'm running a P4 2.4GHz on 533 FSB with 1GB of PC3200 DDR (dual channel), Radeon 9800Pro 128MB with 5.13 Catalyst drivers. Probably going to go on up to 6.2 Another thing; the season pack on the downloads page of lockon.ru; says I have to purchase other downloads first...I've purcahsed Lock On Gold, is there a way I can get it, or do I have to wait for Black Shark (something I'm more than willing to do;-) Thanks for listening! Oh, and I'm sure you may hear from me sooner or later regarding a random issue where after 40+ minutes of single player flight, the computer restarts...only happened a couple times, so I'm not going to say anything more yet, but I've searched these forums (and many other places) and haven't found too much in the way of a similar problem. Thanks again, and thank you ED for making this game better, and keeping the best flight combat sim since Jane's USAF alive and kicking! Regards, Chris
