  1. Today I got onto the 104th TS for the first time and listened to the communications. I was a bit surprised with the language but reading this thread it helps me a lot to understand the language issue. Besides that, my intention was actually looking to see how pilot communicate with each other in MP that reflect real life combat communication, e.g, like what they do in tutorials. It was certainly not there at the 104th server. Any suggestion where I should go to just "observe" and listen in to learn things like that?
  2. Sorry, I just realized that I have not identified the plane I fly. I at this time fly the F-15. I was referring to that my radar does not pick up anything when the system is constantly announcing combat result from somewhere...
  3. Thanks Buckeye. I have not updated...I don't see this in two other servers (159th and 929th), that's why I didn't think it would be the reason... Does it mean other servers did not upgrade? Would I have an issue to connect to other server if I upgrade?
  4. I tried when the server is at 7/27, it threw me the same message though?
  5. Thanks Fakum. I wonder why none of the sensors pick up anything?
  6. Hi, I am new to this MP environment, got onto a couple of servers and flew around but couldn't find any opponent. But the system shows the status of battle somewhere all the time, for example someone killed someone with AIM-120...Sometimes I could see what's left from an air combat. Reading over this thread I realized I may not be the only one. When I played single player, waypoints and radar are what I use to find battlefields, is it the same for MP? Sounds like teamspeak server is important, but is that it? Thanks.
  7. In the last couple of days every time I connect to the server it would start to load but at the end it will give me a "connection interrupted" error message, anyone know why?
  8. Yes I read that thread too, however the DCS F-15 official page is referencing the term AFM... https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/eagle/?PAGEN_2=3#645970
  9. I wonder if the Su-27 AFM will have the same effect? Also, speaking of which, is it AFM on F-15 and Su-27 or PFM? I've seen different notes on this.
  10. Ktulu2, thanks for the quick response. I've read over the thread quickly. I see one of the comment also indicated problem at high altitude. In my case, the game set the starting speed around 300knot, i push to afterburner to gain speed before merge, but at that altitude, I didn't get much. I put nose down, pull the stick to turn; if I pull more than 3g, it will easily get into "departure"; I will have to reduce throttle, release the stick to get the control back. At one time I couldn't get out of the flat spin. Does this sound expected behavior? Next time I will watch my AOA.
  11. Hi, I am new to this and I hope someone can give me a pointer to start. I am practicing the 1x1 heat seaker with F-15. The fight starts at 29,000ft. I usually prefer to defeat the incoming missile, merge and turn to the opponent. During this turn, I find that the F-15 will easily get into out-of-control mode (spin) if I pull the stick hard. I will have to ease out on the stick, pulling maybe 2-3g to make the turn. Did I miss anything here? Thanks in advance.
  12. Thanks Aceof Harts. The manual I got from FC3 says "When the landing gear is retracted, the GSUP index is shown. When the landing gear is extended, GDWN index is shown." You mean it meant something different?
  13. Hi everyone, I don't know if I missed anything, but when I land, I extended the landing gear (of course), but when I approach the airport, the ILS still says GSUP when I have the gears actually down. The cross steering index stays as a cross, not the "bars". Can anyone let me know what I missed here? Also, the lower left of the HUD always says "10 90", I thought it is supposed to say the G force? Thanks.
  14. Thanks everyone. I forgot about the NWS. Tried it, works. Thanks.
  15. Hi, I have a problem with the taxi turning radius. I have found the turning radius while taxiing is a lot bigger than FC2. I could do tight turns in FC2 but I could barely keep the F-15 on the pavement in FC3 due to the big turning radius. My combat pedals setup is default. Is there a change in this in FC3? Is there a special setup I missed? Thanks in advance for help. Edit: I just realized that maybe I should have put this into the input/output forum, sorry.
  16. Lord_Pyro, where could I find the procedure for each task? For example, take off, landing, to inform and communicate. For real pilots there might be known procedure, however for someone like myself would not know this unless we are provided with direction by someone like you. Or did I miss something in the DCS documentation?
  17. I fly both F15 and Su27 as they are my favorate. Lord_Pyro, thanks for giving me the directions, I was not paying attention to the necessary communication to the towers (although in the ramp start mission the tower did not respond to my request for taxi, request for take off, etc); also, I guess I need to read the article about the HSI again, it has been sometime since I read last time... fitness88, thanks for the advice on the MIGs and SUs. I will try that. However would it help me to find the closest airport that supports ILS? You are refering to when I get in range of the airport that the ILS will steer me, correct?
  18. Hi, I am new to this and have been practicing landing. The mission for take off and landing training requires a long flight before I can land at the designated airport. I have been landing at the same airport I have been taking off of, however when I turned on the ILS there is no steering bar showed up. My question is that, do I need to do anything special before I choose to land on an airport so that I get the correct ILS information? Or even get AWACS to give me the "closest" airport? Thanks for any help.
