Hi, I am using the latest VoiceAttack and the VAICOM 2.0. I used to have them mostly working however recently I have been having a hard time to get simple commands like "two, engage" or "weapons free" working. something like "two cover me" would work most of the time, but not every time. A lot of time it will tell me "recipient error", which I didn't have before. The only change on my part was I upgraded from DCS 2.0 to 2.2, as well as the installation of the Oculus Rift. Could someone give me some hints of where I should look? Thank you in advance.

Wags, I read the briefing again that it only says the container is 4808, no mentioning about 4809. Is it mentioned somewhere that I missed? Thanks.

MSN 03 Not able to change waypoint
wingshigh.g replied to wingshigh.g's topic in F-15C 16-2 Red Flag Campaign
Riproren, I switched to different modes, then came back to Nav mode, I was then able to move to the next waypoint; I went to fly the "cold start" mission, same thing, I didn't pay attention before. Is this expected? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

MSN 03 Not able to change waypoint
wingshigh.g replied to wingshigh.g's topic in F-15C 16-2 Red Flag Campaign
Thank you. Although I did not count how many seconds after liftoff, I did try changing waypoint soon after that. It did not work. I also tried changing waypoint before liftoff, it did not change. I thought I could do that in other missions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Hi everyone, I don't know what I am missing here but I am not able to change waypoint in mission 3. I get waypoint 0, that is all, doesn't matter if I pressed the buttons that is supposed to change to the next waypoint; when I flew to the waypoint 0, it ways tells me that I am 10.4 miles away, the distance or the time to the waypoint 0 never changes. I don't have this issue with any other mission. Am I missing anything here? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the reply. The VAC feature uses the dx21 button? I was able to assign the button21 to VoiceAttack, but is it configured as Push and Hold button? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 2260 replies

DCS World TARGET profile for TM Cougar and Warthog + MFDs
wingshigh.g replied to Home Fries's topic in Thrustmaster
PTT for VoiceAttack Hi, I am trying to change the PTT Common button to activate the VoiceAttack. I have been reading through the threads but maybe I am not reading it correctly, I still can't figure out the best way to do it. Could someone give me an advise on where to start? Which file should I look at? VoiceAttack manual says the button needs to be setup for Push-and-Hold. Also, it is read as button21 in VoiceAttack. Thank you in advance. I apologize if this has been asked in the past and I just missed it.- 2260 replies

DCS 1.5 and 2.0 won't start
wingshigh.g replied to wingshigh.g's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
zaelu, that's it! I could never have imagined that would be a reason. Thank you very much for your help! -
Hi, I used to have Windows 7 and ran the DCS 1.5 and 2.0 no problem. I have since upgraded to new hardwares, intel CPU, GTX1070 and upgraded my operating system to Windows 10. I am no longer able to start either the 1.5 or the 2.0. I removed all software and re-installed the 2.0, still no joy. The Windows Event Viewer gives me the same error code as following: Faulting application name: DCS.exe, version: 2.0.3.55457, time stamp: 0x579b502f Faulting module name: WorldGeneral.dll, version: 2.0.3.55457, time stamp: 0x5792435d Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000000000003c24d Faulting process id: 0x854 Faulting application start time: 0x01d1f379a4853968 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\bin\DCS.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\bin\WorldGeneral.dll Report Id: ea959955-0250-4001-aa93-124c10fbe6bc Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: I have searched around and tried a few things based on the forum suggestion but no improvement. Can anyone give me a hint to where to look? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

But CAS does not prevent departure, correct? I would think it should help, but I always have problem with F15 at high altitude pulling just around 3g.
-
Tks. I never paid attention to it but are the three CAS channels on by default?
-
Reading this thread, trying to understand the effect of CAS. If I understand correctly, CAS is essentially switching from "manual" to "fly by wire"? Sounds like this is the basic requirement of having autopilot function, which is logical. My other question is, obviously with or without CAS depends on the situation, what is the criteria for having this on or off?

How to avoid missile AND not losing radar lock?

About "cranking", essentially that is to change your aspect to the target or incoming missile? -
How to avoid missile AND not losing radar lock?
wingshigh.g replied to wingshigh.g's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Thanks for the advice. Went on the MP again and just keep practicing. Still I find most of the time i will get shot down if I don't give up the lock and constrain myself to the 60 degrees limit; or sometimes got shot down by another fighter that was close by when I was concentrating dealing with the opponent on hand; there were also times where we both fired missiles and did whatever necessary to avoid the missile, but my opponent could always find me and lock on me again faster, then I got shot down. When in WVR, I am not good at spotting opponent yet... I guess all these requires practice, practice and practice... -
Tks Blaze. For close combat modes, is there a default or set frequency? I don't have the manual with me but I don't recall it was indicated.
-
Searched through the forum, some people say the best frequency choice is based on aspect angle, some say it is based on range, or is it a combination of both?
-
Sorry meant to ask if I should use MED if bandit is cold
-
This maybe a dumb question, but if HI is good for beyond 20nm and MED is good for within 20nm, can we not bind this to the search range? Or do I still need HI within 20nm if bandit is cold?

How to avoid missile AND not losing radar lock?
wingshigh.g replied to wingshigh.g's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Tks Blaze. Very helpful points. I will practice that tonight. -
Blaze, to your point 2; reading the f15 manual, it says the radar by default automatically cycles between HI and Low PRF (interleaved mode), why do we still need to set it manually?

How to avoid missile AND not losing radar lock?
wingshigh.g replied to wingshigh.g's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Thanks Blaze. Doesn't TWS mode scans only +-30degree? I am pretty sure I read it somewhere on the forum, am I understanding this incorrectly? What is bad position vs good position? How do you know the opponent fired a missile if he was in TWS? -
I have been flying f15 on the MP server trying to practice. Very often I will find myself firing a missile (aim120), then before the missile goes into pitbull I will have to maneuver to avoid incoming missile. During this process I will lose the lock and as the missile has not started using its own radar, I will lose my chance of hitting the target. Just to be clear I use TWS mode so that the opponent doesn't get a lock warning, so I only have about 30 degree to work with each side. Is there a recommended maneuver that can avoid the missile without losing the lock? Thanks
