  1. Hi, Just built a new system: i9-9900k w/liquid cooling - set at base 3600mhz, autoclock to 5.0 mhz per Intel Spec ASRock Gaming 9 mainboard 48 gb 3000mhz ram RTX 2070 Video w/liquid cooling 2 x Crucial 2 tb SSD 2 x Samsung 970 EVO 500 gb m.2 SSD 1 x Intel Optane 32 gb m.2 Cache Logitech G-19 Keyboard Logitech G502 Mouse Logitech x56 Rhino HOTAS (no pedals at this time) Tobii 4c Eye and Head tracker Asus Strix RAID DLX 7.1 Surround Onkyo 7.1 Surround Amp/Speakers Window 10 Home I just today installed the full DCS clean with all the modules.. Pain in the butt with all the license keys from older modules! LOL Anyhow, game runs fine but I am having two problems: 1) My x56 Rhino HOTAS will not map correctly. Basically the game is recognizing it, separated columns for stick and throttle.. but when i try to map the throttle to Z of the throttle, it makes it stick X instead. In fact when I try to map anything to the throttle, the output is is a stick map instead. For example, I push throttle forward, the things maps to the X axis of the joystick. pull throttle back, the roll axis of the joystick.. Something really messed up here. And how do I turn on the Tobii 4c in game? I see the stuff for Track IR and the Tobii does support DCS but I see no place to actually turn it on in game. Suggestions?
  2. Too many people are replying that are not reading what I said... I AM IN GAME MODE, NOT SIM MODE. I have one machine I set up for my grandsons that uses GAME MODE only. The F-5 does not have nose wheel nor the ability to turn on the ground in GAME mode. It works in SIM mode.. But NOT in game mode.
  3. It is not the landing that's the issue right now.. It is actually trying to get out of the hardened hangar and turn onto the taxi way or even the runway.. You can't.
  4. Take a look at my posts again, I clearly said 'GAME' mode.
  5. Add me to the list.. Tobii 4c does not function at all.
  6. In GAME mode, the F-5 cannot be controlled or steered. There is no keymap or controller map for the nose wheel. I read a post about someone finding a way to turn the plane using a convoluted multiple hand, finger and controller method.. but for someone like me with limited use of my right arm and hand, that would not be workable anyhow. Right now, we cannot use the F-5 from the ground starts.
  7. Yep, no go.. the 'game' mode does not have any way to turn the nosewheel on the F5 aircraft... I spent a couple hours trying to get it to work.. I know someone said they found some convoluted multi hand way but due to military injuries I am unable to do that.. and there is no simple key stroke option to turn on or off the nosewheel etc... Also, I cannot seem to get my Tobii 4c to function in the Beta either.... I need my 4c working!!
  8. Update on this problem? I just tried to fly the craft for the first time, not knowing about until I crashed into a wall 3 times trying to get my nose wheel to turn. has there been any kind of update on this being possible fixed? It is not possible to turn in this plane, especially being I don't have use of two arms fully to contort and use the method one user said he used. Is this on the list for a fix?
  9. I too like to run sims using my three monitors. However I have run into a problem. My main monitor was recently upgraded to a new Asus UHD 4K running in 3840x2160. My two other secondary monitors, however, are older HP's and they run at a max of 1920x1080. The game runs just fine, looks beautiful on all three even with the differences in resolution... HOWEVER, because of the way it is rendered, in this mode you cannot get to nor see the OPTIONS button nor any other button across the TOP menu bar in the main menu... In other words, there is no way to now FIX or alter settings to go back to one screen or anything else. And with that, brings a question.. What file do I need to delete or alter to get the game out of this 3 monitor setting now so I can at least get back to the options panel?? BTW this occurs in BOTH 1.5 AND 2.0 Alpha/Beta
  10. How do you get bonus money? I have purchased almost all the modules but my account lists zero (0) bonus money and no history of ever having any... What do you have to do to get bonus money?
  11. Ok thanks will take a look.. If this has been known for a while, I wonder why it has not been fixed yet..
  12. Is this a known issue? Was just playing a scenario and after becoming toast decided to cycle through other units.. One of the units was a pair of F-16's. When they appeared both showed two of their PODS out in front of the jet flying in the air instead of mounted to the hard points! All other models look correct so far but all the F-16's have these two pods just sitting out in front of the jets flying along... Is this a known issue or something I need to change to fix it?
  13. How do we get these files? Photo bucket links not working for me..
  14. Add me to the list.. Dynamic Campaign big time... I still play both TAW 2.0 and Falcon 4.0 Allied Force for that very reason.
  15. That's what I thought but wanted to make sure... been a while.. thanks.
  16. Just a quick clarification... Does DCS World update all the modules installed or do we need to do manual updates as well? Been a while since I have been online and I cannot remember if that is the case for sure..
  17. Is it me or am I missing something in FC3? I cannot seem to get controls working properly nor have I yet figure out how to fire a missile or even turn on Master Arm mode. Additionally, I assume that cockpit controls will eventually be accessible and detailed like in A-10 cockpits?
  18. LOL awesome!
  19. Actually yea I do... it is called the woman laying next to me! ARGH!
  20. Believe it or not, I have been told this is actual a normal phase we go through... kind of a rebellion against that which we have lived all these years.. It will fix itself in most cases.. This is why you see guys like me just out suddenly sprouting long hair, beards and so forth! :pilotfly:
  21. No problem... And yeppers I am starting to enjoy it.. 49 years old and I get to enjoy life for once.. Lot's of motorcycle riding, lots of computer time and lots of women time.... and of course so much more! Problem is I have all this time now and STILL am unorganized as hell! :helpsmilie:
  22. I disagree with you completely. I am a United States Navy Service Connected Disabled Veteran myself and was fully retired due to those injuries on 03 Sept 2011. From my perspective, you are off in a few things.. First, having served in the cold war era, I can tell you that our equipment was NOT designed for desert and sand warfare. In fact the opposite is in fact the reality. M1 Abrams, M2 Bradley's and the Apache were designed for fighting in European terrain. So was the A-10 Thunderbolt. We learned a lot of lessons in the first gulf war because it was THERE where our equipment had issues with the sand and WIND driven sand. Being the United States however, that did not slow us down.. instead we adapted quickly. And subsequently we then updated and modified all our equipment to also work in that tough environment. This time around, we again learned even more lessons because of the Urban aspect we encountered in Iraq and also because of the IED aspect in both Iraq and Afghanistan. And again, we adapted. As for humid conditions? Our equipment is also just fine there and has been adapted as needed for those environments too. We have the same equipment in places like Guam and other south pacific locations that have been set up with the pacific rim package and maintenance requirements for those areas. Finally, keep in mind this planet is 70% water. The Marine Corp's Huey Cobra AH-1Z flies from Naval warships constantly as does the Blackhawk and Seahawk Helo's. We have definitely had to learn everything thing we can when it comes to maintenance there due to salt water, humidity and more. All of these lessons are passed on throughout ALL services for this very reason. Additionally, how do you think all our equipment is staged and transported? By ship! So everything MUST be able to be stored and sustained in a wet, humid environment that changes depending on the ships local. From the Arctic to the jungle, everything must be able to perform.. and our stuff DOES. We simple change maintenance packages depending on where we go.. Our PMS schedules reflect that need as well. So our equipment is just fine and just as capable in winter, summer, humidity, desert or any other planetary conditions. As for Russia, during the cold war they had a LOT of equipment. Why? Because it was NOT reliable nor was it close to technologically able to stand with us. However, today is a very different story. Today not only does Russia now produce some VERY top of the line equipment, it is ALSO very technologically capable.. in fact very very close to the same capability that WE have today! They have caught up quickly. And they also have some capabilities we DO NOT have! With the Internet, communication was not the only thing that changed. With the openness and free trade, consumer products were not the only thing sold. Because of both of those, places like Russia and China which both have the resources and money to invest, have been on a bender when it comes to advancing their technology and their military size and modernizing.. and WE have given all that to them in the sake of GREED and PROFIT. Many of Russia's latest aircraft and their just announced new ship type will be dam close to being able to stand toe to toe with us. Their new SSBN sub they just launched is a HUGE leap forward in capabilities and they announced 12 more are coming. And so I speak from experience and actual factual knowledge. Both China and Russia are not the paper tigers many people still equate to them. I will grant you that China has a long way to go yet to get their stuff up to the quality level of ours or even Russia's, but Russia.. sorry to say they already have it and are rebuilding extremely fast that massive military might.
  23. I can tell you part of the problem... I have had DCS A-10 for a while now.. And since I am an Apache and/or Cobra man, I had heard about Blackshark but was not really interested in it at the time.. However I had NO IDEA about the full DCS system!! I just found all these modules and the integration of the DCS world by accident!! I have and do play every kind of combat simulation you can imagine. From Falcon 4.0 Allied Force, Steel Beasts, Wargame European Escalation, Comanche Hokum and many others.. Yet I did not know about this.. And that is why there is little in terms of scenarios and campaigns... We need to get out there and let the world know because once I saw the linking system and what has so far been released, I was excited AND amazed at the depth and detail... The word needs to get out there because there are a lot of gamers who may not even know DCS is up and running with the modules..
  24. I have been reading and reading... but have one simple question.. of the missions I have downloaded, where do I put them? How do I install mods and such? I have the ModMan tool but that does not seem to work with the latest DCS sims and such... Can someone point me in the right direction?
