  1. For what little my opinion is worth... Free For All servers = fail, due to rambos and 'tards. Squad servers = success, hopefully due to maturity and wanting to get some cohesion amongst units etc. Whatever happens its win:win here... (a) I am assuming ED get to test developmental/evolutionary multiplayer code of "DCS engine", which will provide them useful info for next engine etc. (b) Armchair Simulation pilots will benefit from the opportunities provided through access to improved mission building tools, as well as the opportunity to integrate all the various a/c roles (intercept, escort, ground attack, close air support, SEAD etc) © Armchair Gamer pilots neither benefit or lose, because I doubt it'll much change things for them. I'm a helinut and my weekend hobby is to fly IC powered radio controlled helis (pics here if you're interested), and yet as great as BS is...it just hasn't grabbed me like FC did. I played FC for 3 nights a week, every week pretty much, for three years. I've yet to play more than 10 times online with BS and offline is just pottering about (although I have spent 150+ hours skinning). I dunno why; I haven't immersed myself in BS like I did with FC (due to having a baby this year...well, not me, the missus ;)). I had a quick run around with my SU25T yesterday and it reinvigorated my interest in the sim straight away. Roll on FC2 and a higher fidelity fast movers :D Edit: In very primitive terms, a Free For All or Squad-based multiplayer server mission deconfliction could be achieved simply through seperation of starting positions from the FEBA. E.g... - KA50s start >20km <30km from FEBA - Su25A/T start >50km from FEBA - Mig29 start >100km from FEBA - F15 and Su27/33 start >150km from FEBA Just an example you understand, but this allows everyone to get to the battle area to do their "jobs". I'm sure all the MP server mission designers are already rubbing their grubby little hands together to figure out how to make use of the Mission Editor and its triggers (presuming all the triggers work in MP ;)).
  2. Hi Boberro, Its been a long time since I played FC and recall I was unsuccessful in getting LOFC to play nice with widescreen. Ironically after the post from Scarecrow I went and had another play and whadya know...FC in widescreem seems to work fine. I guess the first time I tried (a few years ago now) I screwed it up. Edit: I think it was because originally all that time ago I was changing the FoV in the View.cfg file, which had no effect, and I should have been making the changes in the snapfiew.lua file...whose changes are reflected in the game...and the view.lua file. I've tweaked things for an hour or so yesterday and seem to have arrived at a comfortable configuration so...roll on FC2.0 ;) Thanks all for your help, and sorry to hijack the main topic. regards Brewber.
  3. @ Scarecrow: Thanks for those settings. They feel a bit off for me, but definately make a difference and give me something to tweak, thanks. @ Lucas From Hell: Thanks for the suggestion, but I prefer to tweak things by hand, that way I know what's going on and if/when something breaks, the likely cause. I'll keep it in mind though.
  4. Hi Boberro, If you got the T frog looking good in widescreen I'd be very interested in the settings you've been using...and could you post a screenie? regards Brewber
  5. Its a long time since I tried, but you could tweak configs etc for Su25A but no tweaks would work for the Su-25T...in a similar way that invulnerability works for the A frog but not the T frog. Just one of those things. I'm hoping the widescreen feature will be added to the T frog in FC2 (if memory serves to get lomac to WS you had to edit the graphics.cfg file to set the screen resolution and aspect ratio, then I think it was views.cfg or something to set the FoV a little differently. Anyway, I never got this to work with the T frog :()
  6. Will the FC2 patch mean proper widescreen support for my Su-25T? I'd be well pleased if I can finally fly my Su25T with the correct aspect ratio/FoV for widescreen. Looking forward to the patch. I had a quick waz around last night in the 'T' (its been about 12 months since I last played FC...and BS just isn't doing it for me like I'd hoped) and all I can say is, bring on the patch - it might just be enough for me to dust off my CH gear and disrupt marital relations with the boss ;)
  7. Good effort...nice to see some FC again ;)
  8. Couldn't agree more. If you want better, then earn more to pay for it. Its not fair to get more for free, we've got to earn the nice things in life, not expect to be given it. I like the fact that if I've worked hard to buy good gear, that I get the benefit of that by a better gaming experience. If you want the same experience as everyone else...buy a console.
  9. What GG said ;) I like BS but recently reinstalled FC for a hack about in my beloved Su25. Alright, its not quite as fast moving as what GG is referring to, but it feels like a meteor compared to the Ka50. A bit of retro isn't a bad thing, and alot of people still play FC, so therefore worthy of some support.
  10. I'm hoping its that the A-10 comes with an Su-25 or 25T :)
  11. Hi DanKurt, I can't get to my main PC but have a check of this post. I followed this post (all that time ago) and its worked for me. Let us know how you get on ;) Brew.
  12. alchemy works for me also; i'm on vista 64 ultimate with an x-fi fatality card.
  13. Good suggestion Feuerfalke. Let's hope the OP picks up on it!
  14. In spite of myself I think that is actually very very good - nice work, rep inbound
  15. Not being sure about whether a future DCS module will integrate with a previous module is something they really ought to keep quite about - I would be disappointed if DCS modules don't implement together...as it splits the simming community. This we've already seen with FC versus Black Shark. Fingers crossed ED find a way to make Warthog and Black Shark play together ;)
  16. Nice shot and post-processing.
  17. Got my fingers and toes crossed for my beloved Frog in higher fidelity ;)
  18. Nice find and thanks for posting. Looking forward to a 2010 release for BoB:SoW...should compete nicely with DCS: A-10 ;)
  19. Good effort ;)
  20. Nice GA; I like the third one best ;)
  21. Nice artwork ;)
  22. Hi Mangaroca, These skins are really just for the squad...but if there is a scheme you particularly have in mind (other than the one you mention above as I think it already exists) then I might consider making it. Skins can take between 5 and 25 hours to make, depending on complexity of colour schemes etc...and packing skins to make them shareable is a real git (even with Modman 7.1)...so this may explain why people make skins and post screenies but there's a shortage of downloads. Remember the expected patch will include a number of skins by the look of things. For the skins Goon posted above, I'd like to reserve these for my squad, but I am usually interested in making more so feel free to post some pics of other schemes that interest you...as they may interest me as well!
  23. Nice work Kevlon ;)
  24. One of my favourites...and one of my skins ;)
