i7 does not mean its faster than i5. It only has two extra virtual cores, which DCS can't use but partially. So a higher clock i5 is still faster than a lower clock i7 in DCS. About graphics cards, I would skip both and go for GTX 660 in that price range (just under 200usd i take it?) EDIT: However if you go for the GTX 650 Ti, make sure it's the Boost version. Big difference. The boost version is better than GTX 560.

Why spend on a i7? It does not make sense. If you have a limited budget spend more on GPU and less on CPU.

Yes it would. i7 does not offer anything gaming wise, as hyper threading is still quite not that common in games. Spend the rest on a good graphics card ;)

I wish they would add some airports on the Turkish side, checked with google maps and there is one big one close to the Georgian boarder in Kars. Another further one is in Trabzon. This would make for more believable NATO operations in the area.

Apprently some people just have huge problems with understanding. Where did I say that I have no idea how they can code 'something'? Making a 2 seat aircraft is not about coding, one person just can't sit in two cockpits doing two different things at the same time, is that so hard to understand? I did not mean fighter jets in general, I mean jets like F-35, F-22 etc that are higly classfied, and heck not even finished yet. But I'm sure there are still copies of F-22 Lightning II for you out there if you enojy them so much. Graphics in line with current projects mean I don't want to see low quality, or that the style of graphics is significantöy different. I do not like low quality community mods no (high quality ones are welcome). This is not a flight 'game' where every single plane should be flyable.

Where can I find this F-18 skin? Only found one for Flaming Cliffs 2, and with all respect to the creator who took his time to make it, it is not really accurate (missing squadron signs and side numbers/registration) Mi-8 one is very nice :thumbup:

Actually I noticed there is a really great Mi-8 skin in the library, so leaves only the F/A-18 to do, which is much easier. Where could I find a template for making all the ranks, awards and pictures? I still havent got my new computer so I can't look in game. Last time I made this mod was for original Lock-On so I don't know what has changed.

Exactly. Not refering to MiG-21 etc. There are very amazing looking 3rd party projects in process. What I am saying is that I don't want to see poorly made addons for DCS World (of which there are tons of in FSX). Also I don't see how you can realisticly model 2 seat aircraft where both crewmembers have their own tasks in battle. Super modern fighters are also very hard to do, because of the lack of information bout them. And I wish the graphics of the cockpit and model of the aircraft will be in line with current DCS products.

As a fan of this sim since Flanker 2.0, I kinda went out of the sim scene by FC1. I'm now returning to DCS World with my new computer. And I have to say I love this sim more and more as it is evolving. I really hope that the quality of flyables in the game will stay on the current level, to be honest many of the 3rd party projects seem very poor quality. I don't want this to turn into a FSX with tons of variable quality aircraft available, I really hope they will keep a standard. I don't want to see 5th gen fighters and two seat combat aircraft, if you know what I mean... And last..I have to keep wondering about the complaints about thew grahpics, I mean excuse me but tell me a single sim that has better graphics than DCS World? Certainly not that Seven-G sim. Just my 2c

I had actually done a Finnish airforce mod for the Original Lock-On, with medals, pictures, ranks and skins for F-18 and Mi-8. Sadly all of it is now lost with my old HD :(. I MIGHT take a new look at it once I get my new computer (skins I need def. help with though). I also heard that ED might implement countries in new updates of DCS World if they get the ranks, skins etc from users? Hi everyone! Someone might remember me back from 2003 - 2005 under the name of FlyingRussian. I'v since became a mac user :music_whistling:..and sims have got less attention. Installed windows on my MacBook now though and got a little back into the thing. DCS runs fine, but as it takes so much space of my HD I decided to stick to Lock-On 1.02 until I have the patens to re-install windows. So, what I would like to do as stated in the title, is add the Mi-24W for Georgia (Default skin, no markings. Same way as the Mi-8 is). Also..I would like to have the German F-4 Phantom skin for the Turkish F-4, as it is more accurate than the camo-one (the markings are in the form of Nomera.tga as I understand). I tried to do these changes my self in MEinit, but for some reason it won't let me modify the file with any text editor (states something like "Making changes is prohibited or something similar". So I was wondering if there is someone who could modify an Original MEinit file for me with those changes, it's really easy to do, or if someone can point me out a way how I can get around the issue I stated earlier. Thank you!
