Its gonna be problem keeping my eyes on where I am flying and not on the awesome pit with this level of detail!

Thanks all for the replies to the Alt Ent question, much appreciated.
In regards to more NTTR... yes please!

The point of such a fabulous aircraft like the gazelle or Bo-105 is not whether these airframes are as effective as an apache or KA-50, they simply are not.
The point of these airframes is to learn how to hunt. The hunt requires you to only expose yourself at the point of kill or when the advantage is in your favour.
These airframes simply teach you how to fly attack choppers when the odds are even. An analogy would be the difference between hunting with a bow and arrow or Hunting with a .300 win mag rifle. Both can achieve the same result, but only one would improve improve your stalking skills.
Indeed the longer the range the lower the skill. The closer the range the better the Warcraft.
The Gazelle and the BO-105 require hard hard work to achieve their goal and they need multi pit to achieve this successfully. Do we want something from ED… sheeeeat yes.
We need multi pit and in pit coms as well as in pit multiplayer radios…
Until then, I cannot wait to have the Gazelle at full throttle climbing low and through the narrow mountain passes, due west of Las Vegas. I will be looking straight up through my rotors at the mountains above me….. bliss is NTTR.
Bliss will be my Gazelle.

Attached is a simple test mission.
10 T-55 tanks, lowest skill level. All vehicles in individual groups, so they don't share information.
5 seconds after mission start, a hovering UH-1 spawns 2000m behind the tanks (simulating a pop-up maneuver).
1 second after spawn, two tanks are turning their turrets to engage.
2 second after spawn, 4 tanks are turning their turrets to engage.
3 seconds after spawn, all 10 tanks are turning their turrets to engage.
Under these circumstances, employing the Gazelle or BO-105 in their original mission will be next to impossible.
That hits the nail on the head for DCS and this killed flying the Ka-50 for me.
May I take a tally of gazelles for this mission? or is it stuck in the old DCS way?
If so such a mission needs to wait until the triumphant release of the Gazzelle... I have saved the mission for such a time.:D
Mind..... I may, in the mean time, completely bleed the mission with the KA-50 :D.
The mission is in NTTR or is it not? Us chopper boys adapt and move on... It is NTTR is it not?

Ewww... that explains it.
So when the game starts you should Alt Ent once or you should Alt Ent at each mission start? I think the 1st statement but just want to be sure.
The simplest of things can create the biggest of problems, we should eradicate the need for this Alt Ent, or is there a valid reason for it?

Does the new update still require Alt Enter to get into full screen?
Out of interest does alt Enter only force full window or does it toggle when pressed repeatedly... an answer to that will help me sleep better at nights.

I do not see these God like AI that everyone talks about. They are tough no doubt, but I fly low and I use the terrain. in Georgia I can spot aircraft earlier than they can spot me because I am behind something and exposing the minimal amount of my airframe for them to see. I can chose whether I avoid them or engage them. If I engage, I muster every advantage I can because I have time (Track IR user and no "scaling"). It really works; stay low.
In the Kamov I can take tank groups at 4 Kliks with Vikhs.... they all die... eventually and it ain't no thang! it just requires a fella to be arsed to fly the machine and fly it real low.
If I fly high or if I laze targets when I have a poor advantage, then for sure they are instantly aware of me and my bearing real fast. Deservedly so they are on me like a ton of Sh"t.
In Georgia I pop up and attack only when there are smooth hill tops or buildings to protect me, Forests are avoided. I simply adapt and overcome the problems I face.
In NTTR it is different.
Every dry old crappy river bed is my pal!
Every undulating crevice in the plains or mountains is my buddy!
Every sparse woodland aligned for defense is my lover!
Every building my savior!
If the Libyan desert worked for the French Gazelles then the NTTR map will sure as hell work for me in a Gazelle!
DCS NTTR is the beginning for us chopper guys... it is the perfection that we want and it is starting right now. Strap in and get practicing because I tell ya what, that sparse old cruddy desert has got a lot of pain to teach a pilot heading for the Hell that is Europe.
In some ways I feel sorry for jet/plane guys, they just do not truly understand the extent of the revolution NTTR is. I guess for them it is pretty skies and pictures and perhaps that statement is truer to reality than we think.

The PAH-1 and HKP-9 look superb, great work Fragger.

Have you set all the Lctrl F5... F7 entries as sequences?
I get the correct output on CSL ie first press = Lctrl F5
Second Press = Lctrl F8 etc...
No "2" output, are you using layers UMD?

No Problem Fixen, My poor wording made it an easy mistake.

I voted Chinook but the CH-53E is equal for me as it looks like such a brute. Air to air refueling would be a blast too.
-
Very nice vid and music Eight Ball.

How does that offset your trim toast?
Obviously, if you use it, it must be easy to control the balance of the chopper and carry out your attack duties.
-
try the trim reset cheat, it should fix the problem.
or twiddle the heading adjust knob to correct the pedals.
-
Sweet.

How she handling larry? :D (worth the testis loss).

Does that depend on which smile? :noexpression:

Afaik the "PFM Upgrade" specialists are the BST guys and it seems to me that whatever the "next big thing" is they start working on, it never seems to be the helos ... :o(
edit:
but that's just me, wondering/speculating - no factual evidence atm I am ware of, tbh.
I think that is just the way us chopper guys are Flagrum, Too many hot LZs make us that way.
-
That's the trouble with T'internet, no one can easily interpret intend. Adding a smiley can help, but they're annoying little buggers aren't they!
:music_whistling:
yeah, gotta get used to those emotive things....
-
Hrm ... I wonder, if that new PFM will cause a delay for Hind and Cobra ...
What did I miss? Why would it delay these two critical war birds?
-
Itye1970, is the Heading stabilizer/Auto pilot on?
Are you pushing the right pedal down or is the aircraft doing this on its own?
-
Have you invested money in their module? Oh wait, you have not. My god.
How often do you need information...
I think you misunderstood my statement.
There is no sarcasm in the statement, the statement is straight up.
I am truly happy that they are too busy as that means I will get my Gazelle sooner.
That is my statement, I probably should have worded it better.
The only update I require is "DCS Gazelle is now on sale".:D

I also use 1024 and the frame rate drop is not noticeable.
Are you running 1024 on every frame? this can drain fps.
There is a reported bug related to extreme frame rate drop when running the monitor at 1024 and it is noticeable when you launch Vikhrs; the frame rate steadily drops whilst in flight and finally gets right down to 10 - 12 fps just before and during the vikhr impact. Is this what you are seeing?

you need to spool down (and lock the rotors?) for repair to start the count down. then top left of screen you see the repair count down.
